  1. Yes - that amount of gluten could be causing all the trouble. Sorry to hear about it. I too would stop the metamucil until you start to feel better... might be adding to the runs right now. I get very ill from even the smallest amount of gluten since going gluten free, and it takes about 5 days to me to see improvement after getting gluten. I eat lots...
  2. I use Tinkyada all the time and have never seen it turn pink - sounds pretty though. :-) I would guess the beets are responsible too.
  3. Thank you for posting this information - it is a tremendous eye opener for me! Thank you.
  4. When I saw my Dr last summer I was telling her about the daily bone pain I was dealing with. Terrible pain within the bones of mostly my upper body and pelvis, concentrated in my collar bone and ribs. She said it sounded like Osteomalacia so checked my Vitamin D level and it was very deficient. Due to malabsorption. I started taking vitamin D supplements...
  5. Glad to hear your Dr is checking your thyroid. I have hypothyroidism as a result of the celiac disease, and the low thyroid causes low body temps, fatigue, constipation, dry skin, spacey-ness, etc. Weight loss could be due to the celiac since weight loss is not associated with low thyroid. If it is low thyroid work with your Dr to find the right level...
  6. Redness on the face could also be rosaca which is also an autoimmune reaction - and very much connected with celiac. My rosacea was getting slowly but surely worse until I stopped gluten. erin
  7. I have had a high bilirubin count for years, and doctors always ignored it since it wasn't dangerously high. I am due for blood test soon to see if my vitamin D level has returned to normal (it was very low) so I am anxious to see what the bilirubin will look like now that I am gluten-free. I went gluten free last April but it took about 3 months to start...
  8. I had undiagnosed celiac for about 30 yrs... and have/had almost all of the same things you have listed here. I was mostly gluten-free for about 5 yrs but didn't get strict until last April. It wasn't until I completely removed all gluten that I started to see real changes. Are you scheduled to be tested? Either way you should continue to follow gluten...
  9. I am going to be staying in New Hope PA this weekend and was wondering if anyone had gluten-free recommendations on where to have dinner? and breakfast? In New Hope or Lambertville. Our bed and breakfast says they can accomadate special diets for breakfast but like to have options. thanks, erin
  10. Wow - that is great news! I was always afraid of cruises but now am ready to book one. Thanks for letting us know. erin
