  1. I noticed that too, specifically with chicken. I used to think it was so boring and had to be smothered in something, but now I just eat it by itself and it seems to be bursting with flavour. Glad I'm not the only one lol
  2. Has anyone in the Chicagoland area been able to find Lettuce Jammers? I've gone to a few Walmarts which I thought was the only place you can find them and they look at me like I have 3 heads. Thanks!
  3. Yum! That sounds delicious. I haven't tried french toast yet.
  4. I'm coming up near the month point in my gluten-free diet. The excitement of finding out what it is, is slowly going away and I'm wallowing in jealousy of food now. I just emailed my reception hall a few days ago about food for my wedding next May and she said gluten-free is one of the most common allergies they hear about and are able to make me a meal...
  5. thank you! I also just found instructions on another site as well. Very strange it doesn't come with them..
  6. I bought a package of this and was looking at it to see about how I needed to prepare for making something with it for tomorrow night. However, there are no directions on the package that I can see! Am I blind or is this something I should just "know"? lol please help
  7. Okay, at least it's not just me then! It did not appear to rise at all and though I would cook it anyway thinking maybe it would be okay. Back to gluten free pantry I go.
  8. My family is being supportive, but still don't really understand. They started talking about the food triangle and I was trying to explain how a gluten-free one would look. I looked online, but couldn't find a picture of one. Does anyone have one?
  9. lol, I didn't know there was a slew of gluten-free Erins around! Funny thing is I have no Irish in me, just my name. Maybe I'll have to try it again, I didn't have anything flop over, it is still edible toasted, but just didn't come out as good as the gluten free pantry one. I thought I had also read that gluten-free pantry made the 365 one. Maybe something...
  10. A few weeks ago I made the Gluten Free Pantry sandwich bread and it was awesome! I kept reading on here about 365 (Whole Foods) brand that it was better and cheaper. So I tried it yesterday. Well, it burned on the bottom, didn't cook in the middle and made my smoke alarm go off! I think I'll be sticking to the Gluten Free Pantry.
  11. I have only seen the already made pasta at Dominicks
  12. I totaly read the title as "box" instead of "mix" lol Oh well, glad he's safe!
  13. I also really like gluten free pantry sandwich bread. It is the closest to gluten bread I have found so far. And really easy to make and use.
  14. That doesn't look too complicated. Thank you for sharing!
  15. Last night my fiance and another friend wanted to go out. After going through multiple options of places I decided I shouldn't eat at, I discovered online that Aurelio's Pizza offers a gluten-free pizza crust. I had to call and make sure after being disappointed about hearing that Lou Malnati's just put pizza ingredients on top of sausage. Lo and behold Aurelio...
  16. I was always curious about that too!
  17. That's awesome! I'm so glad you have that support. My fiance is the same, but we are both still learning how sensitive I am. Some things I say don't make sense to him, but he is willing to go along with whatever makes me feel better. We're lucky (-:
  18. Thank you for the replies! I never saw white sauce so I'll have to look for that. I made fried rice the other night, but something didn't agree with me so I'll need to alter some ingredients (Chinese spices) and I also used an old pan, so need to change that. Other then that it was a good fix.
  19. We're going out for sushi tonight for the first time since I've gone gluten free. I'm hoping it will be a good experience as we don't go very often. I feel prepared for what to order and what not to order and I'm looking forward to trying some new things that I haven't tried before because I got in the habit of having the same few I know I like.
  20. Thank you for the reply. I actually didn't even think to look at the veggies, and the rice I used is from Aldis and have never had a problem with it before. I did however use an older pan I have not used since going gluten-free, didn't even think of that either. I will need to get rid of it. I also did use a Chinese mixed spice that I don't think I've used...
  21. Tonight I made plain chicken, with homemade fried rice. I used white rice, some oil, frozen veggies,Bragg liquid amino, and eggs. None of those things bothered me before. I looked up the Bragg product and everywhere says it's gluten free. However, I'm achy, sour stomach and feel like I ate a piece of toast. I'm not usually so sensitive that I have to be strict...
  22. I was wondering what kinds of questions to ask about fried rice from a restaurant. I know to ask about soy sauce added, but are there any other questions? I'm not sure what else is really used that would not be gluten friendly. Thank you!
  23. Yum, I remember liking this place so will definitely have to try it again with those options!
  24. They have home tests? Out of curiosity, how does that work?
  25. I didn't have symptoms every time I ate gluten. For awhile I would always get mcnuggets from mcdonalds or wendys because they didn't seem to bother me. I'm not sure why, or if my stomach was just relaxed or what was going on. But I didn't notice I had symptoms from eating wheat more often than not. I'm new at this, but maybe your stomach healed a little...
