    Has anyone tried making the bagels? My son and I miss them terribly. I have noticed that everyone has commented that there is too much water in the bread recipe, should I just assume it's the same with the bagels? Well I'll be trying them out tomorrow.

    I know this is a tad gross but I have celiac and my son is 4 and today he had blood in his BM.     Because of your history and by the sound of the symptoms your children have I would go ahead and get the genetic testing done. Some insurance companies pay for it. Even if you decide to go with the blood test your children are old enough to get a correct diagnosis (unless on a gluten free diet) I believe if the child is under 2 you could get a false negative...

    I'm much older than your son (35 to be exact) but whenever I ingest some gluten (not that I mean to) I get all of those symptoms except for the vomiting, I end up with the diarrhea instead.     I'm leaning toward doing the test but when we were at the doc's a few days ago he got 4 vaccines and I didn't want to case him anymore pain. I thought I would wait a week or two to see if it's a stress thing. I just want to know what others would do or if they've been through this.

    I've looked into it and it's an Australian company who is making the vaccine. The first step of the trial started in April with 40 volunteers. This trial will last a total of 11 months and attempt to determine if the vaccine does any harm.     Don't quote me on this but I think you have to be on gluten for at least 3 months (not too sure though). If I were you I'd also get the Doctor to test for gluten allergy, I've got a few friends who have gluten allergy and the symptoms they had mimic Celiac. They were also tested for Celiac but test was negative. Hope this helps out a bit and good luck...
