  1. I just wanted to let everyone know that i picked up some of Gillian's new white sandwich bread from the store yesterday. I love the French Rolls, so I'm hoping the bread is good. I will let you know after I try it today! Brooklyn
  2. A good way to get cleaned out good is to take Milk Of Magnesia 2 tablespoons every four hours until you have a result. Then start some sort of daily stool softener, that will help keep you going consistently. My AIH and my celiac cause constipation. I am also on pain meds which definitly don't help the situation. Just thought I would chime in. Brooklyn
  3. Maker's Mark and Coke is good. Malibu, and sprite, coke, pineapple, etc. Tequila sunrise. Margarita's check the premixed ones though. Daquiri's with fresh fruit not mixes. Hope i could help. Brooklyn
  4. Is anybody going to the conference this year? I'm just wondering because I will be going with my grandmother and mother. We fly into Penn. on Thursday at 430pm. I just thought it would be interesting to meet some of the people who are in this group if they are attending. Thanks! Brooklyn
  5. When you get there, ask if you can speak with the manager to order your food. It's kind of a pain, but that way that person will make sure that the other people make sure to change gloves or use a different utensil. Just be straightforward with the manager and say I have celiac disease and I can't have anything with wheat gluten in it. Tell them you have...
  6. Thank you so much for your great breakdown. I will check the Wikipedia page. The lab that did the bloodwork was quest labratories. My daughter I am very suspicious about. My son has been "lactose intolerant" since we tried cow's milk, so I am suspicious about him too. I will keep you posted about them. Thanks Brooklyn
  7. I saw this and it was perfect. I have a hectic schedule with two children under five and one that's 26. I have to make myself lay down while my son naps so that I can get my extra rest. It works because our bedroom is through his. So, if he is sleeping, I have to stay back there. I don't like it, but it does help. Brooklyn
  8. Also any tips on warding off the Prednisone side effects would be great! The joint pain is getting really bad and my hands shake all the time. Just wanted to add that. Thanks Brooklyn
  9. It's funny that this is posted today. My grandma went to the store and I asked her to pick me up some Honey Nut Chex. When she got here, she said she wondered why I asked her to get those. I said they say gluten free on them, They are for me. She said she didn't even see it on there cuz it blended in with the Chew word. I agreed. Just interesting.
  10. I have to agree about the sharing with others. I was a gluten cheater too, for a little while. I'm am strict about it now, but sick in other ways. I hope you recover quickly!
  11. Hello. I'm posting today because I'm trying to cope with my new autoimmune disease, Autoimmune Hepatitis. I just feel like telling my recent story might help me a little. I know it's lengthy, but thanks in advance. Ever since my diagnosis, I haven't been in the best of moods. I have been on Prednisone now since 9/26/09. My official diagnosis date is 9...
  12. Thanks. That was the impression I was under. I have both children set up with a Peds GI in November. We are doing food diaries with symptoms.
  13. Hello. I hope you can help me with my question. I'm wondering if anyone can help me decipher the bloodwork that I got on my children today. First, my daughter is 5 years old. Her blood work came back as: Quantitative IgA : 77 MG/DL normal: 33-235 TTG IgA: <3 With <5 Negative Gliadin Antibody (IgG, IgA) IgG Gliadin Antibody...
  14. It is not a typical way of testing, but ANA are Anti-Nucleic Antibodies. They are produced in Celiac Disease. They are what I have been told what does the damage to the small bowel. Thats about all I can say about it though. Mine were elevated at diagnosis.
  15. Hi all! I was changing my son's diaper a little while ago and noticed there was undigested food in it. It was pineapple and bread. Essentially the pineapple and peanut butter toast he had last night for dinner. I don't know what I should do or if I should call anyone. He has an appointment to see a Pediatric GI in November. Should I call them or his regular...
  16. I've been at 50 mg a day for two weeks. It's for treatment of my autoimmune hepatitis. I am supposed to take 50 mg a day for one more week then i step down to 40mg a day for two weeks, then 30mg two weeks, until i hopefully can be on just 10 mg a day to control.

  18. Hey everyone. I had one heck of a night! If it wasn't enough that both of my kids came down sick, I come home from the ER with a shiny new diagnosis. My daughter started running a temp when she came home on wednesday night, so I kept her home from school on thursday. Friday morning, still had the temp and coughing with leg pain. I took her to the doctor....
  19. Just wanted to say that I am very happy to hear of your great doctors. Finding a good one is always a positive. I hope things start going your way. Also, good luck with your children. I just started working on getting things taken care of concerning my children. I can't bear the thought of them having to deal with the things I have had to already. Good luck...
  20. Hello! My symptoms started with acne and some GI issues. My acne is terrible and it is connected to my celiac. I have a dermatologist who has done biopsies. They came back showing Cystic acne, basically just really bad acne. All this started at 24, I never had acne problems in high school. I am still trying to clear mine up, but you sound like you can stop...
  21. Hello and welcome! I myself tested positive on bloodwork and had positive EGD biopsy in january. Do you know if your insurance will cover the bloodwork for the gene? With you being adopted, it may be possible. There may not be any records for them to find. Offices burn down records are lost. Maybe check with your insurance company. Then, with confirmation...
  22. I was diagnosed with major generalized anxiety in high school. Probably 2001. I have been gluten free around the same time, and my anxiety has not improved yet. I'm taking Zoloft for it starting today. I know that this helped my anxiety in high school. Maybe it would help to discuss it with your PCP or GI.
  23. The only other number I have on the results for my daughter says IGA CELIAC PANEL: 79mg/dL. Reference range being= 33-235 mg/dL.
  24. Hello. Well, my day has not been the best I must say. I apologize for the length in advance. I'm wondering if anyone can help me decipher the bloodwork that I got on my children today. First, my daughter is 5 years old. She has: -abdominal pain with bowel movements -intolerable itching, makes her unable to sit still to read a book even -bulky stools...
  25. Hello and thanks to anyone who can be of any help! A little about myself before I get started. I'm Brooklyn. I'm 24, a mother of two, and a homemaker.
