  1. Thanks Lisa, yeah I also do pacific foods rice milk..seems pretty safe to me, but yeah soy does the same thing to me too, severe headache..migrane - like a dark cloud over my head for a good couple of days. Very bad and quick reaction. I've been doing this elimination diet, and I started up some citrucel and felt worse. The only thing I can think of...
  2. Good glad you're doing better! Yeah i'll go back on the elimination diet..I was dairy/soy/gluten/casein/corn free for a good 3 weeks but I can't seem to feel better, but now i'm wondering if it's either citrus or salicylate...I have had a bad reaction to asprine/soda/orange juice in the past so at first I thought it was fructose but now i'm dreading it might...
  3. Hey thanks for the response! You know you gave me a good idea..i've been using citrucel since it's gluten free as far as I know..and I've had issues with acidic things in the past...I'm going to go citrus free as well. How in the world did you figure that out? That's a tough combination to break...I feel that my answers are just right around the corner...
  4. Well i've been sick for years, and after my 4th GI specialist he suggested with my chronic low potassium blood levels, and chronic white blood cells in my stool (negative colonoscopy/endo/celiac blood tests) that I was suffering from some kind of malabsorbtion issues...not sure what...so he said to go on a elimination diet. So i've been on a food elimination...
  5. Well since this was posted on the 13th, what did your doctor say? Anyway it could be a food intolerance to gluten/wheat and not celiac. If you have insurance it might be a good idea so you don't have to starve yourself of gluten out of your diet (although a wheat diet is hard enough..) I think you have to be consuming gluten to get the most out of...
  6. Not much help...but this is what i'm doing.... ... I'm in the same boat you are, I had my gallbladder removed in 2007 with zero stones or sludge..(low ejection rate) and suffer from some pretty bad anxiety - which I never had before. I was a 100% healthy pilot before this disaster started in 2005. I did the blood test which was inconclusive (doctor...
  7. mmm...think I posted in the wrong forum sorry moving this...
  8. still doesn't mean much, I've been to an allergist too - had the skin test and the allergist said basically the blood test (RAST) are worthless and only good for spotting true food allergies (the kind that can kill you). Iwent 4 years with severe nausea and living off anti-nausea pills trying to survive until I finally gave in. Now i'm 1 week into my food...
  9. wow soon as I saw this post from the original poster I had to speak up.. I went gluten free like oo... 6 months ago..and a year ago as well, both times failed. Wrote it off as "nope i'm not gluten intolerant" I've been sick for 4 years now and now unemployed (anxiety ridden/severe IBS issues..insomia..) Turns out I was EXTREMELY intolerant to...
  10. Ugh! that's so frustrating..yeah I just want the quickest path to getting healed, I'm trying to avoid bankrucptcy but my nausea/anxiety/abdominal pains are just too hard to work with right now..course it's only been 3 weeks but man that would be frustrating about the beans. It's almost like if it's not comfirmed on the web as being gluten free i'm scared...
  11. Yeah I have a hunch i've been screwing up the last few weeks..I'm not sure if a few things are safe, like split pea soup from cambell's isn't on their gluten free list (woops)..neither is their pace salsa (I could be wrong) so i'm screwing up on this diet...almost seems like just reading labels isn't enough you have to double check online with others to see...
  12. how long were you sick until you were diagnosed karrin? Ugh i'm on week 3..and I just found out some of the rice milk I have is glutened and possibly the cambell's chunky soup (split pea) might have a problem with it ..can't confirm it so yeah..frustrating!
  13. to the author of this post..thanks for posting this.. i've been reading other people feeling better in days and I keep thinking "man you lucky devil's..I'm on week 3 and I still feel like crap" and then i've read other posts of people who said they were sick for 10 months. I've been sick for 3 1/2 years and the doctors suspect malabsorbtion caused by...
  14. thanks, yeah it's really hard, been sick over 3 years now looking for answers - finished my associate while I was sick doing online classes but totally broke and can't continue - I first started doing dairy free 3 weeks ago..felt a little better..then I took soy out and felt a little better..then gluten..so honestly it's been maybe 2 weeks (with *maybe* a...
  15. i'm in the same boat dogle..i'm undiagnosed but my doctors/specialists have a hunch i'm celiac. Too poor to get a scope done so i'm week 3 into the diet..my problem is anxiety of bills/unemployed..i've def. improved and my nausea levels are down on this diet but anxiety/insomnia is a killer when you're looking for work but anyway i'm in the same situation...
  16. oh by the way I forgot to mention! Thanks for the healthcheckusa website that totally was awesome. The girls at the local labcorb were in shock when I only paid $88 for a thyroid panel (when it's normally like near $300 here) so that was awesome. I used a discount code 1234..i hear it expired last day of june but wish I had heard about that website before...
  17. thanks all just an update yeah dtgirl the public transporation here is "ok". I live in salt lake where the valley is super spread out, and the only transportation around here is the bus (i'm 31) so yeah.. I put my car up for sale..the market is really crappy right now..still looking for work. I got my tsh,t3/t4 tested that's why i've been away...
  18. Hey Jan: Thanks for those links! that really helps yeah the salad dressings I do are..really just blah gluten/wheat/dairy free ones that I found at wild oats a while ago..fact i'm getting low on them but it's moslty just some oils and zero sugar..it's something at least but yeah that's like the only thing that I eat that is made in a factory..everything...
  19. Thanks Jan! yeah i'll have to research this SCD diet you people are doing, I am following the gluten free diet..like eggs for breakfast..salads and avacadoes with gluten/wheat/lactose free dressings for lunch and chicken or potatoes or something hearty for dinner (try to..flip i'm losing weight and i'm a skinny guy!) but i'll research your diet.. I need...
  20. Thanks for the info - yeah i've had a few people tell me about candidiasis and I was on the diet for a few weeks before starting my wheat/soy/dairy diet.. my current diet is super low on sugars so i'm trying that too...i don't *think* eggs are bothering me but who knows right? *taps fingers* so frustrating.. I guess my main problem is stressing about...
  21. Thanks Hollyres, that helps yeah hopefully I can find work.. I was two weeks away from my flight instructor checkride when my life went upside down.. since then I haven't been at the controls of the plane..can't date..hardly work... hopefully I can find work.. I had a bad hunch this might take months to fix.. :S
  22. oh forgot to mention i have bad insomnia... but again that's slooooowly improving.. i've been sick for 3 1/2 years... and it's sad to think that all I had to do is avoid soy/wheat/dairy and I probably would have recovered in like no time *sigh*
  23. I've been sick for years, got tested for everything and only thing I had was white blood cells in my stool, I went to like the 4th GI specialist and he suggested I had some form of malabsorbtion going on.. went to a allergist and did the skin testing..found out i'm slightly allergic to oats but that was it... he suggested to go on a food diet and write down...
  24. yeah i'm the same exact way, for years I had doctors tell me my nausea/extreme constipation was caused by lack of fiber so I did everything they said...and felt worse doing it (basically it increases the size but not softens so it makes it worse) I think i've learned is when you have an intolerance to something (soy..wheat) for me it causes constipation...
  25. Yeah if I sit or lay down and read a book with my arms on a table or on my sides holding the book up, my hands get numb...which didn't happen before..now that i'm on this diet they're not doing it anymore so another signs...but yeah I guess you could say my fingers would get tingly..also I read somewhere that asprin really sets off symptoms. Like I had one...
