  1. Thanks for the reply! That very well might be it! It's worth a try!!
  2. I had my doctor appt. today to get the results of the blood tests and endoscopy. I've been eagerly counting down to this day expecting to learn something! Anything that could promise hope of feeling better! What a let down! She told me they were running the celiac panel and it would be sent to the States for evaluation, but it turns out, they didn't do that...
  3. Emily, I believe one of my posts could have been one of the ones that sparked this discussion, so just thought I would throw in my two cents here from what I've experienced and learned in this process (which at this point, still isn't much) so far!! After just a few days on the gluten free diet I had started to improve, then I ate some gluten free spaghetti...
  4. I'm also just about a week and a half into gluten free and had the same reaction to a Bob's Red Mill product the other day. Also to some gluten free spaghetti. I then took out everything processed, dairy, and soy. A day or two later, it seemed I became intolerant of EVERYTHING! It didn't matter what it was. My theory is that the body has to sort of "detox...
  5. Thanks for your reply! It helps to know I'm not the only one who's had problems with the Bob's Red Mill. I totally thought I would be okay with that!
  6. I had my blood tests and endo last Friday, just over a week ago. Up until that time, I was eating gobs of gluten (which pretty much rendered me dysfunctional) to give myself the best chance of accurate tests possible, and went gluten free that day. I also went gluten free for four days a couple months ago and felt better by day three and four. This time,...
  7. This is very interesting to me too. I'm waiting on results of blood tests and biopsy, but am fully expecting them to all come back normal (based on a few things--long story-- and a WHOLE lot of reading up on the issue). I've been gluten free for three days now, and my diarrhea turned off like a light switch (went gluten free for a few days a month or so ago...
  8. Thank you so much! That's a huge help! Never would have thought to go to the Campbells' site since it says go to WWW.prego.com on the back!...soooo much to learn!! Beth
  9. Very new to all of this, and still not sure how much to worry about "spice" and "flavoring" on the ingredient list. I found their website to be absolutely, 100% helpLESS! (Ugh, so frustrated!) Is it just me? Can anyone tell me if this sauce is okay? Do pasta sauces tend to be safe in general? My only other decent option here is Classico, if this is no good...
  10. We have been in Japan for over six years now, and I'm just gearing up to make the switch to gluten free after the rest of my tests are completed in another week. (KenLove, the doctor you suggested was the golden ticket! Thankyou so much!!...I tried to send you a private message, but it wouldn't let me??) Also, your post about the roadside styrofoam box gardens...
  11. Thanks everyone for your replies! I happened to come across this in my searching. Thought you might be interested! https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...&pid=239583 Looks like I'm not the only one who's wondered about this! Blessings! Bethany
  12. Yes, my process was just like the previous poster, only here, they asked me to stay in the hospital all day and didn't want me around any electronic devices...needless to say, it was a long eight hours!! I also kind of posted about the results in another post, but, in case you missed it and care to know, I went back yesterday and she said my villi looked...
  13. I had my appointment today to get the results of my pill cam that was done on Wednesday. First of all, she thought my villi looked okay. She seemed shocked at the speed at which the pill cam went from my mouth to my colon and said it was the fastest they've seen. I had to be there eight hours for it, as that's when the battery runs out, but she warned me...
  14. My hands and arms go to sleep horribly at night too! During the day as well, but worse at night. It's so annoying! I have a lot of the other problems too, and am in the process of getting officially diagnosed. I know gluten is my problem, but I also know myself and know that I will be much more successful in this endeavor having heard it from a doctor, crazy...
  15. Thanks for your replies! I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I will probably still hold onto some hope that celiac was at least partly to blame, but I'm sorry to hear you still had some morning sickness. Glad to hear it wasn't quite as bad though, and you're on your way to a healthy little girl! Congratulations and great blessings to both...
  16. I am now in the process of being diagnosed, but am about 95% sure I'm celiac regardless of what the tests say. So now I'm wondering if this could be why I was super extremely sick throughout my last two pregnancies, to the point of being hospitalized for IV fluids. I lost 35 pounds with my first and 30 with my second (which I, unfortunately gained back after...
  17. Huge thanks for all your replies! This site has been so great for me! I've been soaking up all the valuable information! I would also be interested in how that all went with your sister! I've looked it up online and learned that you have to fast from midnight the night before, usually you go in in the morning and they give you a belt with a receiver of some...
  18. Okay, so if you read my previous post you know, we live in Japan, and I've been trying to get tested for celiac. This is much easier said than done, here. However, through some great advice from some of you, I found a doctor who gave me a "letter of introduction" with regard to celiac (the golden ticket apparently), a referral to be seen by a GI and get an...
  19. Wow! Thank you guys so much for all of your great suggestions!! Unfortunately, going home is not an option at this point, per my sweet hubby's sad shaking of the head. I had heard of the co-op, but hadn't looked into it, so that was a great reminder! And I will definitely look into the kits. That might be an option. Also, thanks for the name of the doctor...
  20. So, here's my deal. We're missionaries in Japan and haven't been back to the States for about four years. I've been dealing with so much pain and a long list of symptoms (I'll get to those in a minute) that I didn't think were related, until last week. A friend was talking about celiac. I'd never heard of it before, and while I marvelled at all the similar...
