  1. Since being diagnosed, I have found this website/forum invaluable..but it seems to me that I have acquired a problem or twelve that can't be helped. I have posted on here how sick I have been, what symptoms I have been experiencing and the fact that my boyfriend couldn't handle my illness and walked out.... The problem now is...I can't seem to move on...

I have worn glasses since I was 8 years old...now 33....since going gluten free 4 months ago, i have noticed an increased amount of headaches when i am in bright light areas, and i am also noticing a difference in my eye sight. I just got a new prescription for my lenses 6 months ago (2 months prior to going gluten free) ..is it possible that these changes...

It seems as though I have made it through the "hungry all the time" stage, then on to the "severe cramping-three weeks on the couch crying" stage, and have now made it to the "so damn tired all the damn time" stage!!! it is all I can do sometimes to drive myself safely home from work. When I get home, I can't function..I literally sit on the couch staring...
  5. the only thing that i have found helps is reaching out to other people and posting on this message board. i am right there with you (stupid chocolate cake)...and knowing other people are going through the same things helps me most. Hope you feel better soon!!
  6. Back from the colonoscopy....the Doctor came to me in my anesthetic state and said "everything looks great!" i was like really? Didn't you just give me a colonoscopy? How can that look great? No tumors, no Crone's Disease, no diverticulitis.... Thanks everyone for listing to my rants on poo!

  11. The nearest support groups are 2+ hours away from me...stupid central Maine!!! So, i did enroll in some private counseling...at 35 bucks a pop i am not sure how long i can afford it...but also no sure how long i can afford not to....thank you sooo much for all the kind words....boyfriend has since apologized and is a bit more understanding, he had some depression...

I am sorry about what you are going through, and although this might not comfort you, please know that it comforts me to know that i am not alone in the struggles I am having with my job and my life. I can only hope that it gets better, everyone keeps saying it will.
  15. Mine was no problem at all....i am terrified of needles, so that was the worst part. I was semi awake and i remember him telling me to swallow the tube but that is it. The whole thing took like half an hour and then half hour recovery...good luck, it will be fine! No sore throat or anything after!!
  16. i have been very careful about the canned foods i eat, the soup specially stated gluten free on the label. Mostly i do all my own cooking just to be sure....i am having the worst time with this.....thank god for this forum....i would be lost without all of your help and support!!
  17. I have been free for one week, it doesn't matter what i eat, from plain gluten free bread to super yummy glutenless tacos...i get sick 30-45 minutes after eating. In the last two days i have eaten only half a can of soup..I am starving but the pain is not worth eating...when will this stop?

Get some of the space saver bags and pack your clothes in them, they make the kind where you fill them then squeeze the air out yourself..no vacuum needed....this way you will have more room for some snacks in your bag. French cooking is very clean, just stay away from sauces. Once you get there, it will be so beautiful you will forget your anxieties. ...

  22. i got diagnosed with Celiac only a week ago....tonight I tried to explain to my boyfriend (possibly now ex boyfriend) that his soft (wheat containing) shell taco's cannot touch my corn tacos....he told me i was being ridiculous and that I don't even know that i have Celiac since the blood work was negative. From what I have read in Gluten-Free for dummies...

  24. I feel like crying all the time, especially when i eat. I read all this stuff that people with this disease are thin and I am over weight. I feel sick all the time now...and i have only been gluten free for one week....how will i ever make it the rest of my life?
  25. I had a biopsy about a month ago, they were looking for ulcers, but instead, they found Celiac. I had to have the blood test but i don't know how to read the results.
