  1. There is no reason why you cannot carry on this wonderful tradition. I have a very similar one. My grandmother had 6 kids and they each have 2-4 of their own. Not to mention my g-grandma had 10 of her own also. Let's just say we have a rather large family tree. When I was 19 I started the tradition of making a tray of cookies for them all instead of buying...
  2. I have found a non-dairy heavy whipping cream in our freezer section at our local grocery store. It does have casein in it but no dairy. I use it in making homemade non-dairy ice cream and it works great. Hope this helps.
  3. Unfortunately, that is how Amaranth flour tastes and smells. Some people might not notice as much as others. It's kinda like the difference between rice pasta and corn pasta. You will have supporters on both sides depending on their taste buds. I just made a sugar cookie recipe that called for amaranth flour and they definitely had an aftertaste to them....
  4. We eat pizza every Friday and our old standby is mushrooms, olives, ham and pepperoni. After Thanksgiving I like to make Turkey, Bacon and Ranch. I will sometimes make it when I have leftover chicken also. Ranch is used as the sauce. Bbq also makes a nice sauce with chicken(or turkey) and bacon. Have fun!
  5. I have used Betty Crocker with no problems. Most of the generic ones have wheat in them and so do some of the name brands. I would just make sure to double check the ingredients closely.
  6. Have you found a gluten-free peanut butter chip? I always ate Reeses but ended up with a stomach ache every time. I can't wait to try the recipe with the pudding in it! I used to love cake mixes with pudding in it so why not muffins.
  7. The cookies closest to oreos that I have found are Kinnikitoos. Not sure if I spelled it right but they are similar to oreos. I have tried many other brands and they never compare. I think my husband would go nuts for the oreo and ice cream version because cookies and cream is his favorite but since going gluten-free over 5 years ago I have not even made...
  8. Spiders *1 box Glutino crackers (or your favorite) *1 tbl (for each spider) peanut butter or nutella spread *glutino pretzel sticks *1/4 cup raisins Take 2 crackers spread pb or nutella and press together. Poke 8 pretzels into the pb to form the legs. Dip the raisins into pb and stick on the top of the crackers for eyes. My daughters love this.
  9. I have done this two different times now. The first time I mixed the choc and yellow and poured it into a 9x13 pan. I thought it was a little to thick for me. So next time I poured them into a 1/2 sheet pan and it turned out perfect. It was a little thinner (only about 2 inches instead of 3-4) but it was perfect with caramel frosting. The baking time was...
  10. My two favorite pizza crusts are Namaste or Chebe. Chebe comes in a few different flavors. I usually get either the All purpose, Focaccia or Pizza. They whip up in a flash and my 11 year old daughters can make them on their own. They are also cheaper than most of the other mixes I have used and I get them on auto ship from Amazon.
