  1. Raven was just prescribed an iron supplement as well. She's on the ferrous sulfate. Do you like prunes? lol
  2. There are quite a few foods available for cats that are gluten free. Of course when Raven was diagnosed, we were using SweatScoop litter that is made from wheat. We switched to one that is clumping pine. I liked the SweetScoop becaue it's clumping but you can flush it so I was happy to find a pine one that is the same deal, clumping but flushable. The cats...
  3. Ok... so we've got our own little zoo here, and with concern for cross contamination, we've switched the cats and dogs over to gluten free food but I'm having an awful time finding gluten free bunny food! I've got a few people on the hunt for some, talked to some people about raising bunnies ''pellet free'' {sort of like going raw with cats and dogs! lol...
  4. Awww.... I'm sorry tmbarke. Keep in mind though, alot of dogs with allergy issues have more than one, and often food and enviromental allergies go hand and hand. I had a long term foster that was allergic to the world. Everything from a variety of food, to dust mites to grass to pollen to molds, even cat hair! There was not much we could do but try to...
  5. I always thought Raven's belly was a CF belly, then I thought it was because of her enlarged liver and spleen, now with the celiac diagnosis, I think she's going to have her cute little belly regardless! lol It does seem to expand and contract more now though with the gluten free diet. Before she'd wake up skinny and be huge by the end of the night. Now she...
  6. OMG! I'm having this happen as we speak! It's been driving me crazy. It's along one side of my tummy and all the way around to my back on the same side. No clue what the heck it is but its the first time I've ever experienced it. Weird....
  7. Raven's been seeing a homeopath for about a year now. He is truely amazing. He's helped her in areas where her CF doctors haven't seemed to be able to make any head way. I can't say enough good things about this guy. I'm not sure how things will play out as far as her celiac diagnosis, but she has made leaps and bounds since being in his care. Even her CF...
  8. Raven has an absolutely AMAZING homeopath. I went in as an open minded sceptic I guess you can say, now I think this guy is magic! lol He's done more for her in this past year we have been working with him then I ever could have imagined. I think it really depends who you get. Just like in any profession, there are those that are truely talented and those...
  9. All the dogs here were already on a gluten free food, and the cats are finishing their last bag of Felidae which has barley in it and will be switching to some sort of gluten free cat food. Raven loves to help feed the zoo so I figured it was the best plan. Now the trick is to find gluten free food for the bunnies!
  10. I love this idea! I think this is what we will do from now on. Even if a restraunt is accomadating to the best of their ability, I still worry about cross contamination without preparing it myself.
  11. Thank you! Yes, my son and I had planned on going and getting bloodwork done to start. I'm sure you'll hear some venting coming from me!
  12. My six year old daughter with Cystic Fibrosis was just diagnosed with Celiac. They are actually starting to do marker testing for all the CFers in our CF clinic.
