  1. Not all people react the same......I generally show symptoms the following day and then they last for 7-10 days. It depends on the severity of Celiac and what you've eaten. Keeping a food diary is a good idea. I did it for about 2-years and it helped isolate things that didn't sit well with my system. Specifically, I was able to figure out that Soy...
  2. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  3. I've found that Pork is harder to digest in general so I pretty much have eliminated it from my diet. I figure that my system has enough problems without making it work harder in digestion. Anyone else??? But, I do admit, I love the smell of bacon cooking in the morning and crave a good BLT (Or, as Billy Crystal said in the "Princess Bride," Nothing...
  4. I've always seen a delay in symptoms as I think the food gets pushed thru your body everytime you eat something. I might even see a good-day where I feel fine followed-up by the bloating / pains / brain-fog / big-D. I also agree that the inflamation lingers even though you are eating gluten-free. It just takes a while for your body to process the offending...
  5. Hebrew National Hot Dogs are Kosher & gluten-free! Cleveland Bob
  6. Seeing as you're from Ohio and your body is bleeding green I would say you must be an Ohio University Bobcat! Joking aside I hope you are okay and able to figure out what the heck is going on! I wish I could be of more help but, aside from the liver check I have no clue? Best of luck..... Cleveland Bob OU '90
  7. I am curious to know if anyone has done the 23andMe genetic testing kit? They sell a kit for $399 which is based on your saliva and can tell you about various diseases and conditions in your genetic makeup. With so many associated conditions / problems that Celiac people have I just wondered if anyone did this and/or learned anything worthwhile...
  8. I always go to PF Changs @ Planet Hollywood on the strip. They have a gluten-free menu and it's nice not to have to explain everything to a clueless waiter / waitress. Good Luck! Cleveland Bob
  9. This is copied from another Cruise topic I replied-on recently............ I went on an Alaskan Cruise aboard Norweigan......They sent me a list of gluten-free foods prior to departure and let me pick what items I wanted to have aboard (English Muffins / Pasta / Crackers, etc.). Then, I had a meeting the first night with the Maitre'd who reviewed the...
  10. I've been enjoying Good Earth's Decaf Green Tea for years with no problems........ Cleveland Bob
  11. I make a gluten-free version of Rice Krispy Treats.......Use any gluten-free rice cereal, butter and marshmallows. Melt butter & marshmallows together in a pan and mix-in the cereal. Works well with Rice Chex, too! Cleveland Bob
  12. I went on an Alaskan Cruise aboard Norweigan......They sent me a list of gluten-free foods prior to departure and let me pick what items I wanted to have aboard (English Muffins / Pasta / Crackers, etc.). Then, I had a meeting the first night with the Maitre'd who reviewed the menu with me and discussed what items the Chefs could present as gluten-free. They...
  13. O+......Irish / Italian........Light Brown Hair...........Blue Eyes Cleveland Bob
  14. I like 'em......Also great with Lox & Cream Cheese. Good to use for sandwiches and hanburgers as well. Cleveland Bob
  15. I don't live in Pittsburgh but, I travel to the area every 2-weeks to check on the progress of the Benedum Hall project on the Univ. of Pitt campus. I am wondering what celiac friendly restaurants (if any) might be in the area? A little local insight would be most welcome. As it stands now I have been traveling with a home-packed lunch and I eat while on...
