  1. For a long time I have noticed that whenever I eat meat without some simple carbs I have strange reactions. One of the biggest reactions is that I become very depressed and easily angered within minutes of eating. I also become very lethargic and spaced out. Sometimes it's hard for me to hold even a somewhat inteligent conversation. I also get some discomfort...
  2. Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link Some gelatin has msg in it, and that is probably what they are having a reaction to. Gelatin made from meat stock is very healthy. All you have to do is simmer some bones in water for about four hours. The above article also states that powdered gelatin is also good. I actually read a post from someone in...
  3. I read that gelatin is excellent for intestinal tract healing and can also alleviate sensitivities when taken with food. Gelatin can be used in either a powdered form or from meat stock. I want to use meat stock at home, but when I'm away I think it would be more convenient to used powdered gelatin. The problem is that I can't find out how much powdered...
  4. Going to a naturopath is a good idea, but you can also order tests online to check for leaky gut. I think you should start by searching for problems associated with antibiotics. They can have some strange side effects that can last for a while.
  5. Thanks. I wasn't aware of flax meal. I'll try that.
  6. I'm really hoping somebody can help me. I am intolerant to gluten, eggs, dairy, and cane sugar. I also have leaky gut and I'm trying to follow the Specific Carb diet. There is a recipe for almond flour pancakes in which you basically make them like regular pancakes, but with almond flour. This recipe calls for the use of eggs, but I can't eat eggs. Does...
  7. I don't think you should trust a muscle test to show intolerances. Have an actual lab test done. A chiropractor muscle tested me for intolerances and all that showed up were eggs, and that was only after I told him that eggs were a problem. I had already had a blood test done which showed eggs, gluten, casein, whey, and cane sugar, but the muscle test...
  8. I know this is an old post, but I wanted to add my two cents. I've noticed whenever my liver gets over worked it makes my urine smell exactly like the food that I've eaten. Maybe a liver cleanse would help.
  9. I'm somewhat new to all this, but you need to get some gastro health testing done. Look up Enterolab and check out the Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis as well is the complete food sensetivity test. You'll have an easier time treating yourself if you know what you are treating.
  10. Getting enough calories was a major issue for me on that diet. I like avacadoes, but not every day. I may have to go with spoonfulls of coconut oil. I have leaky gut as well and I think all the hard to digest foods I was eating was preventing recovery. It's a good diet, but I'm going to have to make some revisions to it. Breakfast is kind of tricky since...
  11. That's a good idea. I just have to make sure to get enough calories. I'm so skinny and my blood pressure gets low. I'm going to try my revised SC Diet and see how it works. If it doesn't work, I may have to go with something similar to what you did. Thanks
  12. Well, it looks like the candida is probably still present. Rice has been making my stomache bloat and I have abdominal pain. I woke up the last two mornings with a bread taste in my mouth. Looks like it's back on the diet. I think I'm going to make some revisions this time, though. Since my digestion is so compromised, I'm going to try eating only one...
  13. I've done one of these tests from a different company. The one that is offered by Enterolab is conducted through stool. It isn't as thorough, but it's supposed to be much more accurate. They look for the most common offenders, such as eggs, gluten, and soy. You can also order one that tests for each food individually.
  14. I haven't heard of that one. I'll look it up. Thanks.
  15. I'll look for that bread and the other one that was mentioned in another reply. Garden of Life actually changed their formula on that probiotic and it now has alot of the same ingredients as Perfect Food, so I'll have to try to find another one. I am familiar with Enterolab. I think they have a CDSA for about two hundred dollars American. Maybe...
  16. My thyroid checks out fine, but I appreciate the suggestion. When I was eleven years old I had a major gastric surgery. My pancreas had overgrown and wrapped itself around my small intestine, close to where it meets my stomache. For about six months I vomitted everything I ate and test after test didn't show why. My stomache was full of ulcers. I...
  17. Thank you. I'll have to look for that. I've actually been eating regular wheat bread. I tried Ezekial bread once and didn't do so well with that. It's made from sprouted grains and I don't think I'm able to digest them. I'll look for the one you mentioned, though.
  18. You're right. I should just eat things that don't cause a bad reaction. I'm going to do that. Maybe my damaged digestive tract is the reason I couldn't tolerate Perfect Food. Ezekial bread is also a major problem for me. Maybe it's all the sprouted grains that I have a problem with. I want to get better so badly. I've had digestive problems since I...
  19. It's just so frustrating because the things that are supposed to make me better don't, and often just make me worse. This leaves me not knowing where to turn. Nobody can give me answers on how to get better because I react poorly to things that work for other people. I haven't been able to work in nearly a year and I need to get well.
  20. It seems like I don't do well with food and supplements that are supposed to help. I once tried Perfect Food from Garden of Life and had a terrible reaction to it. My hair-eyebrows, facial hair, and head hair-was falling out like crazy for two weeks after taking this supplement. Probiotics have caused me to have gallbladder inflammation that no doctors...
  21. I'm new here and I'm glad I found this site. This is going to be lengthy, but I think I need to give some history before getting to my question. I was diagnosed with intestinal candida about a year ago and I was able to self diagnose leaky gut syndrome from there. I went on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for about four months and found some relief from...
