  1. Hi. I just called Sanofi about Plaquenil, and they said that it was free of gluten, lactose and soy...but not corn. I tried to research Prednisone, but there are just too many to call and research. Does anyone already know that information? I already researched Methotrexate and it has gluten or others, depending on the brand.

  3. GFM, I was already just diagnosed with RA, and am supposed to start medication. Lupus is borderline. Myositis is possible. Hashimoto's was diagnosed 5 yrs ago. Did you already know that about me? How did you guess that right on the button? Thank you all for your kind words and support. My hubby comes back in town tonight, so I'll spend the weekend...
  4. Hi. Could the non-celiacs (and celiacs) give my husband advice on how to live with my celiac disease as a family. I have been the only one gluten-free. My hubby and 2 small kids are not. I am beginning to realize that constant cross-contamination might be the source of feeling bad all of the time, and making othe autoimmune diseases flare up more often...
  5. You guys are the best...keep the good advice coming. Ok...cried again. I did post on the sensitive forum, because I am beginning to think that I might be that sensitive...but only time will tell. I'll start with the kitchen and a family plan and see where that takes me. Thank you so much:)
  6. Ok. You guys made me cry:( I know that this is what I need to hear though. I've pondered for a while about the cc factor, but I guess that I just thought that maybe I wasn't so sensitive to the gluten. I have probably been fooling myself. That is why I've come on here to ask questions. I have also been too scared to ask my husband and family to make...
  7. Ok. Just saw my Rheum doc. She wants to put me on Plaquenol now, and a little prednisone for a month. I will have to research both to see if it has gluten or my other intolerances in them. Anyone know already? She said the back-up plan in Embril or Humira shots. Any opinions?
  8. MacieMay, what was your clue to your kid's having issues with no diagnoses? Just behavioral? Kimmick95, the % drop is a huge indicator, and not wanting to eat carbs. Was there anything else that clued you in? Did your kids have acid reflux or chemical sensitivities? Did they have vitamin deficiencies? My son says that he feels fine...all of the time...
  9. I eat Uncle Ben's boil in the bag brown rice. I don't appear to have issues with it, but I do have ongoing gut problems. The good news is that I have felt good while eating plenty of that rice. They do say "gluten free" on the box...not certified though.
  10. I react to all lactose free products. I read that they still contain lactose...just less. It is enough to make me swell up like I'm pregnant!
  11. When you say "no grain", does that mean rice too? CassP, I can totally identify with the meltdown. I am about there lately. Good grief, what did people do before there were identifiable autoimmune diseases? I honestly can't tell the difference between a flare up of other autoimmune issues and be glutened, so I have no idea what to do, or how to help myself...
  12. I don't know why my post didn't go through. Maxi Hair vitamins from Whole Foods are AWESOME!!! My hair stylist asked me what in the world I've been doing for my hair? Then she told everyone else about the vitamins, and they were sold out when I went back for more...3 times. I had to get off of them to eliminate ingredients for figuring out food intolerance...
  13. Ok, I bet that half of the time I am the one kissing their sweet little chubby cheeks...and I don't hose them down after each meal and snack, so I am sure that there is residue from head to toe on them at all times. I ask my 5 yr old to NOT kiss me WHILE he is eating gluten, but it's free game after. How is it possibly feasible to wash them down after every...
  14. Hi. I decided to post this question seperately from my last post, so that I would get more feedback. I am thinking that after being gluten-free for over a year, that I might be cross-contaminating myself. How do I keep myself from cc myself in my kitchen when I have 2 small children that I am fixing glutened food all day long for. Again, they are old...
  15. Hi. I read some of your posts. My new doc, who is a celiac specialist says that I should be able to tolerate more foods now after a year and a half of being gluten-free. She said that maybe I am still getting glutened and don't know it? Or that maybe something else is going on with my guts? Am I cross-contaminating myself? How do I know if I'm super...
  16. Hi. I have a 5 yr old son, who to me, has always had some slightly mysterious issues. He has been scoped with a negative biopsy, and blood tests are negative too. I have celiac disease. He has one gene for it, but the test did not assess his risk like it did mine. He is highly lactose intolerant. That could be genetic, as I am and a lot of my family...
  17. I am having a huge flare-up of all autoimmine symptoms. I have recently been eating Udi's gluten-free granola...which is oats. However, I have corn issues, and recently tried a vitamin with a little corn substance in it. I am trying to figure out if I am reacting to the oats like it is gluten, or if it's the vitamins. I have been gluten-free over a year...
  18. I agree to you all...thank you for your encouragement and dedication! Mushroom and Ravenglass I used to talk with you both over a year ago when I was figuring out the whole celiac thing. I missed you:) I have not been on the site in sooo long. Kids and all of the autoimmune problems have just been overwhelming. I want my life back. As I said on another...
  19. I am supposed to start taking methotrexate for RA. I have emailed all of the manufacturers of name brand and generic version. Rheumatrex contains gluten, but i have not yet heard back about the others. What is everyone's experience with this drug? I really am terrified to take this drug, since it can have so many side effects. I am concerned about gut...
  20. Hi. I have celiac disease, along with Hashimotos thyroid and PCOS. I was just diagnosed with RA, borderline Lupus and likely dermatomyositis (autoimmune of the muscle tissue) that has not tested positive. I have been gluten-free for over a year, but these other issues are bringing me down. I just need to know if there are others of you suffering out there...
  21. Hi. It's been a while since I've been on here. I used to be a personal fitness trainer, as I have a degree in exercise physiology. I have to admit that I feel totally lost now. I quit personal training several years ago to pursue other things, and I quit having any energy to exercise long ago. I have lost so much muscle! I am thin, but very out of shape...
  22. I'm newly diagnosed too. I'm in Indy (Fishers). I just met a neighbor who has it as well. My hubby and I are planning a nice night out tomorrow for our anniversary. We are going downtown to eat and stay at the Conrad, so I've been online trying to research accomodating restaurants. I ran across this board, and I was already a member of celiac.com. Nice...
  23. I am glad that I'm not the only one. I am curious to see how many people will respond with this issue. Maybe we can all go to the dermatology assoc to inform them of the cause:)
  24. I just got diagnosis with Celiac, but doc knows nothing of the skin rash that I've had for about 5 years. Dermatologist had diagnosed it as Keratosis Pillaris, or something like that. She said that their was unknown cause for it. It started after having a baby, and got worse after my last baby. I noticed that it got better after I started eliminating...
  25. Hey, I know that you feel my malnourished pain! My GI doc told me yesterday to add probiotics...IN ADDITION to cutting out the offensive foods. He said that a damaged gut allows bad bacteria to build up and be greater than the good bacteria, and could potentially cause a gut infection. So... I'm on 2 antibiotics for 2 weeks, along with 2 probiotics. I...
