  1. We don't have much family alive. Just my brother and SIL in Va. and cousins in Connecticut. I don't know if I ever posted this but for the first 3 years I was married to Clark I didn't know my dear MIL spoke English (they're from Spain). In the beginning it pissed me off and I never wanted to go along to visit but my sweet mother said to me "Look at it as...
  2. Love your picture. I wish I could post pics but evidently they have too many pixels. Loey

    ARCHIVED Endoscopy

Thanks so much. I'm not going to my stupid GI anymore. I have an appointment with a new GI on January 20th. He's supposed to be very good and will spend an hour or more with a patient if they need it. They also do al of the testing right there (they have a unit for it). If I mention this medication to him my husband's colleague said he'll be willing to try...
  5. It's nice for me not to dump everything on my husband. Have a wonderful gluten-free holiday!!! Loey

    ARCHIVED Endoscopy

Sorry your stomach bothered you. I also think it's a shame how difficult it is to get disability with this disease. I want to go back to the classroom and teach more than I can say but there's no way I can handle it (special ed) until I'm well. Let me know how the test results are and have a wonderful gluten-free holiday. I bought all of our meal ingredients...

    ARCHIVED Endoscopy

I'm glad the sedation is almost out of your system. Just keep letting your body rest. I don't mind taking meds. He thought I was looking for something in the oxycontin family. I currently take donnatal but it doesn't help with the IBS. I'll mention your med to the new doctor. I can't wait to see him but first I had to get a referral and now my appointment...
  9. Hey, great minds think alike! I was going to write the same thing! Holiday Hugs, Loey
  10. I'm in counseling and feel fortunate that I have it as an outlet. This disease is hard to cope with. On top of the illness my husband was just transferred to a new company,we moved to a new state, and our only child eft for college. It always helps to talk to someone with an objective opinion. My Psychiatrist talks to me about Celiac and my other health issues...
  11. Thanks Patti! The nearest one is in Providence but I'll check it online to see if it's carried closer. Hugs, Loey
  12. Oh that SO makes me think of how Clark still sounds sleeping at night. I pfeel his presents!!!! Hugs, Loey
  13. Where can you get it? Sounds like something Tony would actually like (he hates coconut ice cream) and yes, my dear Kareeng I'm indulging him over break. Hugs, Loey
  14. Hang in there Em. I'll pray time won't stand still! Hugs, Loey
  15. "Had my favourite nice and current squeeze to stay last night " another person us old married pfarts can live through vicariously. Hope you enjoyed for all of us! Clark and I are asleep by 9. Don't get me wrong - he's my sweetie but after 22 years you don't wear sexy lingerie that often. Enjoy! Loey
  16. My son did and saw part of it. He said it was somewhat cool. He's very nonchalant these days. I want my old Tony back but have to let him grow up (Snoopy sigh). I went to reply yesterday but my computer went kerflooie on me. Elf mischief? Loey

    ARCHIVED Endoscopy

I tried answering yesterday but my computer was weird. Now keep in mind I'm changing doctors because this one hasn't done anything to help me since i moved to a new state in August. My old GI in NJ wanted me to have a capsule endoscopy as soon as I moved and the new GI wouldn't order it. After being in intense pain since August I put my foot down. That's...
  18. Glad to hear I'm not the only one Patti. My girlpfriend that I went shopping with spoils her kids when she can. I told Tony at lunch yesterday that Clark pfeels like Tony broke up with him. I asked him if he could PLEASE watch a movie with his dad without his computer while I was out. They did but this morning Clark told me that Tony only did it because...
  19. Of course he does because I've always done it. I had him at 40 after thinking I couldn't have children. I would have been different if I had it all over to do. But he is a good kid and doesn't drive me too crazy. As you've come to see I'm a pushover but not just with him. Loey
  20. There's a kosher place in NY that sells it gluten-free (stuffed with rice or gluten-free bread). Perhaps that's part of the price but duck is pretty pricy on it's own. The guy was going to give me a discount because it was the last raw one he had (they sell them cooked for even more money) but it would have been $169 + shipping. There were a few other places...
  21. It's so good to hear about supportive and loving families. My hairdresser made gluten free peanut butter balls today because I was bringing my son in for a haircut and they had out a spread of food. She kept them in a ziplock bag away from the other food. Loey

    ARCHIVED Endoscopy

I find that now that I have Celiac (and an ulcer and IBS) I have less energy so when I have a procedure where I receive anesthesia it takes longer to shake it off. If your schedule allows for it just rest and let your body tell you when you're ready to be out and about. Hope the test results are OK. Sending healing thoughts, Loey
  23. I'd be concerned about being in a relationship with someone who isn't willing to accept the chance that their boyfriend/girlfriend is sick. It's not easy to do but a relationship requires both people to give and take. We're supposed to love each other regardless of our flaws. if you have a medical problem it's certainly not your fault. I'm sure you would...
  24. You're not being OCD. Here are some links to doctors and others explaining Celiac. Perhaps if your wife watches them she'll understand how sensitive you are. Hope they help. Loey
