  1. I won't fault her for ordering the tests. I went to see her because I had rashes. 1 was new on my face, plus reoccuring rashes all over for 8 years. After putting some other info together, we decided to test for celiac. I wasn't initially going there because I thought I had celiac disease. I will look at my report again and see if I made a typo....
  2. NO clue!!! The report seems so jumbled to me. Maybe I can scan and post it?
  3. Received my blood work and biopsy results. Doctor considered everything negative. Please note that this is a resident Dermatologist, that had to consult a gastro to decipher my results. I have no issue with that. Just pointing out she's not an expert in the non-skin results. Deamdated Gliadin Iga~ 2 units. This is in the negative range of 0-19. ...
  4. Update! Last night I tried regular. vs. the organic I made the last time. I'm not sure if it was that, or that I cooked it less, but it came out much better. I wasn't sure since I was making baked macaroni this time. I boiled it just for a few minutes, maybe 3 then let it bake. Still not quite the same, but defintely doable. Of course, I was missing...
  5. GRRR! We have had a bag of marshmallows burning a whole in our pantry. Today we decided we would roast them on the fireplace. While I don't see gluten on the list, Wegmans brand puts a G F in a circle for gluten-free stuff. I see no circle! I wonder if it could be a CC issue? As in gluten isn't an ingrediant, but they warn about CC? I could so go for...
  6. Anyone have it? If so, did the gluten-free diet make you feel better?
  7. I would think, and I could be wrong, that simply taking gluten away would not bother a non-celiac. I would GUESS that the items you replace those foods with could. For example, if he adds a lot of rice to his diet it could constipate him. Or if he starts eating lots of brocoli and the like, it could certainly make him gassy initially.
  8. What kind of cookies did you make? I'm trying to prepare myself for the holidays. I usually make lots of cookies with my kids.
  9. I have to admit, before this gluten issue came into my life, I would eat while reading my library books. The thought about people with peanut allergies did cross my mind. (I used to eat lots of granola bars.) I guess as far as gluten, it depends on whether or not you think it's a problem outside of eating it. Now I will try to be mindful of it...
  10. Not that I've lost weight, but I understand what you are saying. People mean well though, so why not make it a teachable moment? (Ie. Explain that you are HEALTHIER.)
  11. For those that aren't aware, this company sells their crust to pizzarias. You can also order the crusts online. I got my first gluten-free pizzaria pizza. It was decent, not great. Keep in mind that they do their own sauce and cheese. I guess being from NJ, I am spoiled when it comes to pizza. We have it good here!! Have any of you ordered the...
  12. With me, I think it's going to be a case of not realizing I was sick until I start feeling better. My "normal" isn't really normal.
  13. I hope this is not a fluke or a "placebo effect." Let me start by saying my symptoms aren't too bad, nothing diabilitating like some of you. I am also waiting for the official diagnosis. Normally, I just have some D in the morning and my GI symptoms are done for the day. Today I had my first almost normal BM in months! (I know the weird things...
  14. Good luck. I hope that this is your answer. It sounds like bread, (and pizza, and bagels, and cereal and pasta...) would be small price to pay.
  15. But I JUST went off gluten. Am I still going to heal if I might get CC here and there? I know I can't expect to get completely healed if there's any gluten, but will I at least see that my efforts are starting to work?
  16. I like to put thin slices of cheddar, swiss or any other cheese with slices of apple or pear.
  17. Since I am still waiting on test results, I'm not about to go out and buy a new toaster, pots and pans etc. I'll cross that bridge if/when I think I need to. So, I guess that means I could easily still be getting traces of gluten. (I've been extra careful about cleaning.) My question is, can I still expect a level of healing? Having taken out all the...
  18. Looks like a trip to TJ's is in order for me. The price of gluten-free pasta is just crazy! I usually buy regular pasta for about $1, but range anywhere from 66 cents to $1.29 at the most. But, $3.50 and up?! This is what's so hard. My family is used to eating pasta all the time. Now we're paying more for yucky pasta.
  19. Bigbread, I will surely be posting my results when I get them, but feel to ask any questions. I should hear by the 6th, if not before.
  20. I wonder if Lyme is also the trigger for some people? And since symptoms are similar, they sort of run into each other.
  21. Thanks Lee. The mositure thing makes sense.
  22. Thanks Lee. The mositure thing makes sense.
  23. Thanks for the suggestion Raven, but I think I'll keep my family away from here for now. Though my brother could very well be on here somewhere, I'd otherwise like to keep it private. I can complain freely here.
  24. As far as I know, they are just testing for dh. I'm not sure how that works though, if the test is that specific. Also, I understand to test for dh, they are supposed to test skin NEAR the rash. They took a sample near my rash, and a sample of my rash. So, for all I know they are looking at other things and didn't bother to tell me.
  25. As I get started on the diet and await a diagnoses, I am wondering how my family will deal with this. So far as I explain things to my husband he seems pretty understanding, but I can see him "not getting it" if/when I have to buy separate cookware, ask questions at restaurnants, etc. I think he'll think I'm over the top. I can see my mother-in-law trying...
