  1. I started having severe symptoms at 36 but looking back I think I may have been some form of gluten sensitive since childhood.
  2. I spent nearly four years sick and there was a point in 2010 that I didn't think I would make it to 2011. In 2010 alone I saw my GP, two Rheumatologists, two Infectious disease doctors, and one Cardiologist. None of them came up with Celiac & Dermatitis Hepeteformis. NONE OF THEM! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, ploy arthritis, mixed connective tissue...
  3. Oh honey, I think you are in denial. The thought of going gluten free for the rest of your life can be daunting though. You really should give the diet a shot. It could change your life.
  4. To the OP - are you sure the RX you take doesn't have gluten in it? Have you checked with your Pharmasist?
  5. This thread had been a real eye opener for me. I have had a headache since Sunday. I thought maybe it was soy. Every day it gets better but it is still there. On Saturday I decided to give up dairy since my stomach hurt after my morning coffee. The headache I am experiencing is probably casein withdrawl! OMG. Guess dairy will be off my list permantely...
  6. I had 100's of symptoms when I was ingesting gluten but one of them was NOT vomiting. I got glutened off of a supposidly gluten free menu at a restaurant and half way through the meal I had to run to the bathroom to throw up. I have heard others say the symptoms are worse once you rid your body of gluten too.
  7. My brother called me up the other day while he was at the store. He decided to try being gluten free and asked me if white flour had gluten in it...LOL
  8. Those look exactly like mine. Mine are spread out all over my body - no big clusters. Mine have never been biopsied but they stopped apprearing when I went gluten free - unless I get glutened or eat iodine.
  9. That stinks! Did they used to be gluten free and now they are not? No Reeses, no Twix, no Kit Kat. Good thing I can still have Snickers...or can I???
  10. UGH...I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to do an elimination diet but it seems that might be the only way. I'm afraid that my DH is being to think that I am just making up these extra food intollerances for attention since I am no longer sick all the time from gluten. Why is it that all these additional food intollerances are so severe now...
  11. I am self diagnosed (and don't really care to have the "official" diagnosis) and have been gluten free a little over 1 month. I am beginning to suspect that I have additional intollerances as well. I cut out dairy a few days ago because I noticed my stomach would hurt after my morning coffee (with half and half.) I am now suspecting soy as well after I ate...
  12. That was a great response to IHOP. Total BS their response was. Oh, and the blurb about there being pancake batter in the omlettes is definitely a new addition. Didn't use to be there.
  13. the last few months before I discovered I had Celiac (not thank to any of my MANY doctors) I was experiencing my worst depression episode ever. I cried all day every day, had to take time off of work, my family could barely say anything to me for fear I would go hide in my room, etc. My infectiuos disease doctor basically said I can't find anything wrong...
  14. Thank you for your reply Gemini. I suspect that it may have been the grill baste as well. I even mentioned to my husband that it seemed a little overly spiced but since I had never had that dish before I was not sure. Funny thing is, I never threw up over gluten when I was eating it but I supect now that I have purged my body of gluten it just wanted it...
  15. I am surprised you were able to have the onlette because they put pancake batter in the egg mixture. I assumed that this was premade (make a bunch up at the beginning of the shift - not prepackaged) that way and wondered if I could ask for an omlette w/out pancake batter. Did the waitress mention having to do that?
  16. I went to Carrabbas last Saturday because I found a gluten tree menu online. I picked out a gluten free alcoholic beverage (Carrabba-Rita), a gluten free salad (Insalata Fiorucci)and a gluten free main course (Pollo Rosa Maria). The only thing it said I had to do was ask that my chicken not be basted with grill baste. Waiter knew I needed to be gluten free...
  17. It could very well be the sugar free gum. I, at one point, was chewing an entire pack of extra gum a day (17 sticks!) and had the most horrible diarrhea and really heavy menstrual cycles. Oddly enough, I would only chew the gum during the week when I was at work (must have been a stress thing) and would feel better on the weekends when I didn't chew any...
  18. I thought MSG had gluten. Someone posted on here the ingredients to the Jimmy Dean sausage and it stated that it has MSG. I have read that the glutemate part is gluten.
