  1. I ate the turkey leg at our renaissance festival (and I am pretty sure it is the same company that just goes from area to area) and never got sick. My mom ordered the frys at the same stand and it looked like they had some sort of non gluten free coating on them and she almost immediately got a headache so I would definitely stay away from the fries.
  2. I think you should be fine. I never even replaced my cast iron skillets and I have not goten sick from cross contamination.
  3. Stay away from nightshade vegetables as they induce inflamation.
  4. Why not eat the gluten free pasta with him. Nobody needs wheat in their diet.
  5. I no longer feel like I am dying and for the first time in years I have a daily bowel movement. I no longer have depression and I can keep going all day without having to lay down after even just walking upstairs. It has been really hard since I discovered I also can't eat any dairy or eggs, fish and yeast but I will gladly give them up to feel like a normal...
  6. I was glutened off of a gluten free menu (I suspect the cook did not make my chicken minus the grill sauce like the gluten free menu said they would) and before I even left the restaurant I had to go throw up in the bathroom. I was only gluten free for one month at that point and vomiting was NEVER one of my symptoms prior to going gluten free.

    ARCHIVED Allergist?

I went to a natropath for food sensitivity testing. Some on here think it is not reliable but I knew there were other food issues after going gluten free and, to be honest, I did not want to do an elimination diet to figure them out. I came back positive for 36 foods (including gluten and wheat....surprise surprise.) Since I have cut all of those foods out...
  8. Certain forms of dairy have more casein than others (as well as lactose I believe) and that could be why you are more sensitive with certain dairy items. I tested pretty high for cottage cheese, mozzarella and parmesean were a little lower and casein was even lower than that. I just aviod all dairy now. I am seriously going to try out the paleo diet....
  9. I loved this documentary. It is almost two hours but the guy that does it is super funny and keeps it interesting the entire way through.
  10. If it were not for PF Changs I would probably never eat out. I have been there numerous times since going gluten free three months ago and never had a problem. So sorry you had a bad experience
  11. I ate a crap load of the lime flavored a couple of weeks ago and did not feel ill. I didn't see anything on the label that suggested gluten - although I have since tested positive for casein sensitivity so I hope they don't have dairy in them because they were so good!
  12. I guess I should be glad I can't have any dairy anymore!
  13. It could be that you have always had a slight reaction to avocados before but now that gluten is not screaming it head off the avocado allergy can be heard. Since going gluten free I have realized that I am also sensitive to eggs, dairy, almost all fish, yeast, beans and a hand full of spices. It really is kind of depressing when I stop to think about it...
  14. What is with this "slightly positive"??? I have heard that from other people and it is absurd. That is like saying you are "slightly pregnant"! There is no such thing with this disease. You need to go gluten free now and stay gluten free. Many of us learned that the medical community was no help in diagnosing us. I had a list just like yours but longer and...
  15. They also have one in Flagstaff. I have eaten there as well as the one in Tempe. Most of the menu is gluten free and it is AWESOME!
  16. I am sorry to say this but if she was very aware and still made all of that food she doesn't sound like much of a friend at all
  17. Thank you so much T.H.! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond so in depth to my post. You have been a great help
  18. For me wheat and gluten still showed up even though I had not eaten gluten in 2 1/2 months when I was tested. Oysters showed up to and I have never eaten an oyster in my life that I am aware of. I was told that they take the serum portion of your blood and add a little bit to each food to see if your body produces the antibodies against the food. Out of ...

    ARCHIVED Pei Wei

Wow. We went to Pei Wei the other week because I have had so much success at PF Changs. When I asked for the gluten free menu there were literally like five items on there and several were just vegetables. No Dali Chicken, no Fried Rice, no Lettuce Wraps - nothing! We ended up leaving and driving over to PF Changs.
  20. Not testing positive for something I have not been eating is not true. I had not eaten gluten in almost three months and both wheat and gluten popped up. Also, I have never eaten an oyster IN MY LIFE and it popped up pretty high, as did most seafood items and I hardly ever eat any form of seafood. I was tested for IGg levels. Natropath said that they add...
  21. I would say that after eliminating gluten from my diet I feel about 80% better but that is HUGE because I honestly felt like I was dying. I want to feel 100% and I knew that there must be other food intollerances so I had a food panel done. Out of 154 foods I tested sensitive to 36 and reacted to 50 more. I say that if you don't feel 100% to consider other...
  22. So, I got the results of my food sensitivity panel (blood) back and out of 154 foods tested I am sensitive to 36. Surprisingly, wheat and gluten were in the low range and cutting gluten out has made a HUGE impact in my health already (gluten free almost three months now.) Anyway, out of the remaing 118 foods I reacted to 50 of those - just not enough to...
  23. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt....lol. BTW....Betty crocker has gluten free mixes and they have a brownie mix. I tried the expensive gluten free brownie things and hated the after taste too. I have not tried the BC brownie mix but I have tried the cake mix and the cookie mix and both were very good with no yucky after taste
  24. My DD uses this ALL the time and on practically EVERYTHING...ha ha....and her immediate glutened reaction is a stomach ache so I say this is still safe to eat
