  1. Eggs and almonds both IGG delayed reactions. I plan on getting tested every 6 mo or at least once a year from now on.
  2. Quercitin is a flavonoid found in apples and onions. It is known to help stabalize mast cells and may reduce allergy levels. Does anyone have experience with this or any other nutrient in regards to reducing gluten and food allergy in general? I didn't think it was possible to reduce the immune response except by slowly healing the gut. I am going to...
  3. I'm feeling lots better today, more rested and peaceful. Is it normal to have ups and downs? I would imagine that if a peron manages this exactly right, including proper rest that there really shouldn't be many downs, but a sow trend up instead. It's nice to hear from the more experienced, thanks again.
  4. Thanks, that is very good to hear. Nice to have that to look forward to. It's easy to get down at times. All the studying, being afraid to eat anything, trying to be a dectective at all times, it just wears on a person that's already WORN. LOL
  5. unfortunately she's just going to have to make herself sick. There's nothing you can do but remind her why she feels bad. I don't mean to be a downer, but for a person to maintain 100% gluten free they have to want it really bad. The motivation for that will come from being quite ill and knowing that the cause is gluten, even trace gluten. This is what...
  6. I work a fairly physical job at times.
  7. if I were you you I would ask around for local support groups things like that, try to hookup with a person or people maybe you could cook for each other or something? I know when I make soup I have 20 qt pot and always freeze 10 to 13 Qt bags of soup. I know for me living alone was tough, if not impossible to manage the lifestyle I needed to heal. Fortunately...
  8. I was told once that cravings usually don't last more than a couple minutes. Go fold clothes or sweep your car or small task to keep your mind and hands occupied for 5 or 10 min, then put your feet up and take a few deep breathes, lots of times craving gone... honestly being so sick I thought I was going to die 3 times over the last 4 years has finnaly...
  9. young strong people heal fast, and she may not have had that much damage to begin with campared to a thirty five year old like me, for example? As much as I hate to say it much of the gluten free section of stores consists of products that are quite heavy on starch and sugar which can encourge the wrong kind of intestinal flora, in particular if there is...
  10. it is very wise to go completely gluten free. The damage the immune system does the human body, in response to gluten is cumulative. Accidental exposer is likely, so your efforts should be focused on that. Futhermore once the body has been worn down to certain point from this and other stressors, people often develop other intolerances such as dairy, soy...
  11. I should have added that any kind of sleep problem would complicate this issue. Not eating anything past the evening meal and allowing full 12 hours of fasting between evening meal and bkst is also helpful. Other than that, sluggish thyroid is linked to constipation.
  12. I struggled with chronic constipation from 2006-2010. It got so bad at times it would only respond to castor oil and green foods/juices. Nothing really worked, nothing at all worked I should say. Then in january I started taking large amounts of betaine HCL (stomach acid) w/pepsin and NOW plant enzymes. Problem over-have not been constipated at all in...
  13. I think adding only 1 new food per week is a really great idea. I know for me, I don't react immediately.
  14. 1956Chill- Ha ha, yeah that's so funny, basically a "food" free diet. Not really though, to me it seems sometimes like our bodies are literally being pushed into a paleo diet. Even paleo ways like movement rather than sitting for long periods of the day. And communitty vs. living alone. All these things work together to either promote or degrade health...
  15. I would remain gluten free based on there is no harm in it, only potential harm if you go off it. I would get a stool test done soon and allergy testing soon. There's an online lab that you can use to basically order your own tests, if you can't find a doctor to order what you think you need. I don't know if I'm allowed to say the name of the company here...
