We use Peter Gillham's CALM magnesium and calcium drink. No problem with leg cramps any more, also helps reduce blood pressure, and is calming to help sleep. Soy caused leg cramps and we avoid soy like the plague for many reasons.

ARCHIVED Migraines, Sinuses And Gluten... Help?EdwardL replied to suprmomy4's topic in Related Issues & Disorders Might want to read the previous post. Casein in milk can cause the same headaches as gluten. My wife continued to have headaches until off of casein as well. Don't take the headaches too lightly, her's ended up in frontal lobe dementia.

The gluten protein and the casein protein in dairy have very similar chemical structures, and both can cause neurological problems. My wife did not get rid of migraines until she was off both gluten and dairy (goat milk also has casein). Interestingly, my wife had a MRT test done recently and blueberries caused the highest reaction, slightly above wheat...

ARCHIVED Celiacs With Glutamate Sensitivity? Causes DepressionEdwardL replied to Evangeline's topic in Related Issues & Disorders It is in your best interest to never eat unfermented soy. As well as having high levels of glutamate, it also has high levels of phytic acid and should be considered a poison. Did you know that they did a 25 year study and that CT scans showed the people who ate the most soy had the highest incidence of dementia and brain atrophy. This website Open Original...

So we have gluten, casein, salicylates, and now candida that can all cause anxiety and other neurological problems. It is easy to see why when some people go gluten free and dairy free that they still can have problems. ARCHIVED Gluten & Casein Similarities And Neurological DamageEdwardL posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut The gluten and casein peptides are similar and can cause neurological damage when they are not fully digested and get into the bloodstream via a leaky gut, resulting in an autoimmune response. This link gives a discussion of similarities and these effects. Open Original Shared Link

One of the needs for healing a leaky gut is contiinued use of probiotics. Raw sauerkraut is good natural way to do that. However, unless you make it yourself, grocery store brands usually have preservatives and high salt. High salt is a no no for high blood pressure, and preservatives are a bad idea as well. We started using a salt, preservative, and gluten...

ARCHIVED Other Food Intolerances Disappearing!EdwardL replied to Marz's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut In order to keep the intestines in good condition, my impression is one should take appropriate enzymes and probiotics for life. More during the healing period, and then a maintenance amount later. And we eat less fermented food than other societies and the bad intestinal flora overwhelm the good.

ARCHIVED Other Food Intolerances Disappearing!EdwardL replied to Marz's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut The website Open Original Shared Link gives a good explanation of why other sensitvities are no longer a problem. As you might expect the core problem for most people is a leaky gut. Heal the intestines and most of the problems go away.

ARCHIVED Digest Gold? Maltase From What Source?EdwardL replied to IrishHeart's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease My wife uses Digest Spectrum which includes specific enzymes for gluten, casein, lactose, and phenol. Advertised to be able to digest a whole meal, but we only use it when we eat out as an added precaution in case there is contamination. She is also lactose and casein sensitive. Also use it sometimes just to detox the system. Our experience has been positive...

My wife (mid 60's)was diagonsed with frontal lobe dementia. She had migraine headaches most of her life until she quit eating gluten. ARCHIVED Could These Problems Be Related To Gluten?EdwardL replied to mommysboys2's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I'm not sure if my last post made it through. I must of hit a wrong button and caused it to exit. Anyway, isn't there a recommended sequence of tests to go through to find out which and how many food sensitivities are causing problems? Just going gluten free may not solve anything if there are cross sensitivities like casein, which can cause similar problems...

ARCHIVED Trying Gluten-Free For Migraine Relief; Have A Question, Please.EdwardL replied to Tiskers's topic in Related Issues & Disorders We just recently went to a Neurologist. The good news is she apparently does not have alzheimers. She has generally not eaten gluten for many years based on her experience of getting headaches. But we we're really strict until the last couple of months. We use a digestant (Spectrum Digest) when we eat out as a precaution. Seems to help. We got more religious...

ARCHIVED Trying Gluten-Free For Migraine Relief; Have A Question, Please.EdwardL replied to Tiskers's topic in Related Issues & Disorders Don't take the migraine headaches too lightly. My wife had headaches for years before going off gluten, which stopped the headaches. However, she was recently diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, with memory and cognitive loss. Her headaches were in the front of her head, and could last several days. She is in mid-60's. These intolerances will only get worse...
