  1. I looked over the searches for this and saw there was some question if these was 'safe'. Both have made me sick and it was the 'I ate gluten' kind of sick. At first it was a mystery because I am super careful at home and had no idea how I ingested gluten. ..but when it happened again the M of M was the only common denominator. Silly me didn't think to check...
  2. I have had the mixed grill and the salmon from the gluten free menu with no problems. I ordered the penne pasta dish and did not like it at all. The sauce was watery and the pasta was not cooked thoroughly but that might well have just been at this particular restaurant. Sometime when I have the extra money I'll order one of the steaks.
  3. I know they have several of these in Texas and one in Florida I believe. We have one in VA and I have been there a few times. They have a gluten free menu. So far I've ordered (on separate occasions) chips with a cheese dip, (I can eat cheese) a Greek salad, the boneless wings and the potato skins. The salad and the chips and dip were good but I really didn...
  4. That's odd. I don't know if there is a dedicated fryer or not. All I know is it showed up gluten free on our menu and I ate it and had no problems and if I get glutened my stomach starts to gurgle within 30 minutes. Nothing happened. I will ask the next time I'm there.
  5. Just ate there last night. Their allergen menu is very detailed. I wasn't all that hungry and just had a had a blue cheese (I tolerate cheese) wedge salad. So far so good.
  6. Lobster nachos! Had this for lunch. Also had the shrimp scampi, a salad and coleslaw. Didn't have the cheesecake because I didn't have time but I will try it next time. So far no problem.
  7. For the picnic I'll make it ahead of time. For methods...just about anything but frying.
  8. I have two separate events coming up soon. Next week-end I will be camping out for two nights for a large Scouting event. Husband and I will be cooking our own food at our site. It will probably be cooked on a Coleman Camping stove..the other is a picnic. For the camp out the food will just be for me and hubby. Husband thinks it might be worth it to make...
  9. I'm one of those "I only eat when I'm hungry' type of people. If I wake up and I'm not hungry, I don't eat breakfast. Before this problem showed up I was the type who didn't think about food all that much at all. I hated to stop what I was doing because I had to go eat. That's the kind of personality I have. Now when I DID Eat it was fairly healthy...
  10. Just wanted to say I had the grilled chicken cranberry pecan salad with oil and vinegar and at my locale Denny's yesterday. So far I have had no problems. It was very very good. Just make sure you tell them you don't want the bread!
  11. Thumbs up for my locale Chipotle! The server not only changed her gloves but she personally went down the line and filled my bowl herself so the other guy on the line who had been handling the flour tortillas would not touch my 'stuff'. I hope they are always this accommodating. Got the mixed grill and veggies at Olive Garden and had no problems. Waitress...
  12. I might start telling people that gluten eats my intestines. Don't know if that is completely accurate but it would probably get their attention.
  13. I just found out about my gluten free sensitivity (still waiting on test results) and I'm not planning on changing a whole lot. I never thought I would be grateful for being pre-diabetic because I stopped eating cakes and cookies etc a long time ago. Don't eat cereal. I also stopped eating processed food. I don't even own a microwave. I eat fresh fruits and...
  14. Thank you so much for replaying and for the information. At this point I really don't care if I have an official diagnosis or not. I just know that I don't want to get sick again. I corresponded with the directors of the training week end and one of them was very knowledgeable about celiac/gluten sensitivity. He agreed with me that if the cooks had known...
  15. I've gone over this forum and have already had some things answered. What a great place. I have suffered from IBS on and off for years. My last bout ended with a hysterectomy where a large but benign ovarian cyst was removed. It stopped and I thought that was the end of that. Before then I was also able to control the IBS pretty much with a method of ...
