  1. Which of these in the celiac panel determines your gluten level?
  2. I looked on Wishbone's website b/c I had the same question and it states: "Common ingredients that may contain gluten are rye, wheat, oats and barley, and noodles and pasta prepared with any of the previously mentioned grains. HVP, TVP, flavorings, are likely to contribute gluten as well, however, if they contain any gluten, the source would always be...

  4. I discovered a Gluten Free Sake that is amazing. The name of the company is TY.KU - They make 4 different types of sake, all gluten free, contain no sulfites or tannens. They also make a citrus liquor and a soju (these are not gluten free). All their liquors contain no sugar; they all are made with real fruit juices and have half the calories of other liquors...
  5. Can someone please tell me if Nathan's frozen potato pancakes and frozen french fries are gluten free? I read somewhere that they were but had the potato pancakes yesterday and I'm feeling really sick. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
  6. Hello Everyone, I recently have been on the hunt for gluten free sake. I'm aware that sake is made from rice, however many often add barley at the end of the fermintation process to add flavor. I came across this site, which states which sakes have been found to be gluten free (I know they exist) Open Original Shared Link - When searching "Gekkeikan Sake...

  13. You should look into going on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Before being diagnosed with Celiac I was told I had gastritis after going to the emergency room for abdominal pain. I was on prednisone for severe uticaria (hives) and swelling. Prednisone has a lot of side effects and isn't a good medication to be on for an extended period of time. I hated how...
  14. I recently heard a fellow Celiac mention that he suffers from Candida... I've seen this on a lot of celiac sites, but was uncertain what it was. After reading the symptoms and taking the written test I'm thinking that I could possibly suffer from that as well. That would explain my weight gain and cravings. I don's suffer from the yeast infections... more...
  15. I recently heard about GAPS diet. From what I'm told it's a more advanced SCD that people do afer they were on SCD. I've also heard conflicting things about the "cured" .. some have said that after being on SCD 1-2 years if they have shown positive results within the first month or so that they have been healed and able to eat whatever they wanted after....
  16. WoW... it's so frustrating that the label laws don't require full disclosure of ingredients. Very good to know. Continue to keep me informed
  17. You are totally right gluten dude. Lots of gluten free pre-made foods are very high in sugar, carbs and fake additives to make up for the taste and lack of gluten. I'm starting the specific carbohydrate diet Oct 17th.. I'm sure I'll lose weight and feel even better on that.
  18. Thanks for your response ravenwoodglass. I'm actually going to start the specific carbohydrate diet very soon. I'm mentally/emotionally trying to prepare myself and also get my house ready in terms of supplies. I've used rice dream before.. good to know.. I was unaware. What ingredient makes it no good?

  21. Look into the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. You should eliminate the rice, not have canned vegetables/fruits. I just read the book Breaking The Vicious Cycle - Intestinal Health Through Diet By Elaine Gottschall B.A., M.Sc. and plan to start the diet soon. Here is a link to give you more info. I'm trying to do extensive research and get all supplies needed...
  22. I purchased the book and read it cover to cover. All I have to say is WOW. I plan to start the Specific Carbohydrate soon, but I'm still reading up on it, doing research and want to get all supplies I need before starting it. From what I have been reading, if your body somewhat responds to the diet within the first month or so... patients with celiac diesase...

    ARCHIVED Peter H.r. Green, Md,

Has anyone heard of this Dr or personally gone to see him in NY. He's affiliated w/ Colombia and I've heard he's like the guru for Celiac Disease. I've been trying to get an appointment with him, but can't get anyone on the phone. If anyone can recommend a celiac doctor in NY that specializes in post diagnosis for celiacs I'd really appreciate it. Thanks...
