  4. Thanks for all of your replies, got the test results back...everything is normal I know I should be happy, but I hate having symptoms that i don't know the cause of. I know I'm not getting cc because I have all gluten-free dishes, cookware, all food is made and purchased by me (gluten-free of course) and these aren't my normal symptoms. I really love this...

  6. ok so lately i've been having some strange symptoms (futigue, frequent urination, increased hunger and thirstyness...)so i go to the doctor, thinking it could be type 1 diabetes (grandmother had it) I say i have celiac and don't think she has a clue what it is, but she does several tests (glocose levels, kestone levels, mono spot test, urinary infection...
  7. hi my grandparents are wanting to take me to dinner. I just moved to Richmond Ky for college and have never been to the resturants here and was wondering if outback steakhouse was gluten free here too. I'm going to try calling today but I might not get the chance because of class Thanks Nicole

  9. I have been looking for research about people with celiac disease having a higher risk for developing type 1 diabetes and have only been able to find 1 study <Open Original Shared Link (rewriten a bunch of times) and was wondering if anyone knows where i could find some more info about this topic. Thanks Nicole
  10. I was just wondering if this was an allergy or sinsitivity or intolerance or some bazar weird anomoly ok well, when i was an infant i was breast fed and every time my mom would eat eggs i would throw up and then she would get an itchy nose cleaning it up now i don't throw up when i eat eggs but my leg hurts so bad i can't walk on it (same for my mom...
  11. from the votes so far i think that the study has been debunked
  12. Halloween was always my favorite luckly for my parents i had just aged out of trick or treating when i got diagnosed with celiac disease so they didn't have to deal with it, but when i would go to a party and they would give out goodie bags i would put the safe stuff in my "safe" (let your kids build one or declare a shelf in the closet their safe "safe...
  13. I was wondering if anyone else had a pineal gland cyst i was told i had one 1 year before i was diagnosed with celiac disease and i also have a cyst in my hand (to small to do anything for) and wanted to know if these were common with celiac disease
  14. Thanks for your answers i'm thinking of going to the doctor (need to talk to my parents, don't want to worry them) I'm pretty sure it is not cc because the only thing I have eaten that is process recently is udi bread and i only eat 2 slices a day the rest of the stuff I eat is canned or fresh, also I get my blood checked every 6 months last time was 3 weeks...
  15. I went through the same path and after food service gave me a list of what they could provide me (a salad) for every meal I took that list and the emails between us and a note from my gastrointerologist to disabilities and the people in disabilities were really understanding and helped me through the rest of the process. I wish you luck and know where your...
  16. I was doing some research online and found a study about people born in the summer having a higher risk of developing celiacs <Open Original Shared Link and I thought that this was interesting because I was born in the spring (may) and no one else in my immediate family has it even though most of them were born in the summer. well anyways I'm...
  17. I just got through that very same problem as I just started college. I found that my favorite college could "do gluten free" but they put it on the same line as the rest of the food buffet style. I dicided to go through disabilities services and the college was forced to accomadate my needs. All I needed was a note from the doctor stating what was wrong ...
  18. I haven't seen an allergist because my dr doesn't think its necessary, I had a food allergy blood test and they said I didn't have any food allergies at all, although I do know most of the foods and other things that bother me petroleum, prednisone, pinicillin, dust, wasp venom, spider venom, smoke, bananas, peanuts, beans, broccolli, cabage, coliflower...
  19. Ok so I'm 18 and I've had celiac disease for about 2.5 years now. For about the 1st year I just followed a gluten free diet and felt better, I couldn't care less how I got it or what else could be wrong with me or even if my family had it or not. Well at about the 1.5 year mark I had a bad case of Hives it covered my feet, side, wrists, and it lasted forever...
  20. I've been doing more research to find out more info and found that celiacs is really similar to type 1 diabetes Open Original Shared Link and I was wondering if it goes the other way like if you have celiacs what is the percentage of type 1 diabetes developing and if it is less when you follow a gluten free diet. I really want to know soon Thanks Nicole
  21. I just finished high school and while i have no kids of my own going through 2.5 years of school with celiacs was awful because the staff wasn't understanding and they wouldn't except a 504 for it, although i would definately look into one or something like it for your child because they have a long time to deal with the school system. I would talk with the...
  22. It depends on the person how long it takes for the symptoms to dissapear. for me i didn't see any improvement at all with my symptoms (severe stomach pain, and foggyness and others) so the next time i went to my gastrointerologist about 3 months later i told him and he put me on medication that was supposed to "reset" my system it was basicly a strong antiinflamatory...
  23. I was just curious if i have celiacs and have been completely gluten free the intire time i've been diagnosed (2.5 years)are my chances still high to develope other things like diabetes. Just wondering because i have been having some weird symptoms like blurred vision and having to pee alot and i am tired all the time and my dads side has a history of diabetes...

  25. My grandma is the same way and she has about every food allergy under the sun, I used to fear going to her house for dinner because I couldn't trust that she didn't put flour or barley or some other form of gluten into something. One thing that my mom and I would do if we were going to her house for some food event is I would always have a back up dinner...
