  1. wow, I don't think that was necessary! If you didn't want to respond you could have just not responded. Not everyone "knows" that hay comes in pellet form. I don't think being cautious is going overboard.
  2. I know nothing of the science of this but can comment on my own personal experience. I read the posts when I was trying to heal from gluten about the possibility of casien causing issues too. I (sorry to say) blew it off at first thinking, "I don't have that issue" to realizing I wasn't getting better BECAUSE of that. In fact, I had several other food...
  3. I love the idea of celebrating the life changing moment. I have had my head down not paying attention to how drastically my life has improved! I think anything with a renewal touch would be good. A re-birth if you will. I feel like a million bucks today and all of us know how to appreciate days like that. When you're sick you feel worn out, old, dead, unable...
  4. Hello everyone, I have contacted many people concerning this issue. First a rabbit expert to find out if hay is really needed, yes it is. Then I was told Meadow hay would be ok by the rabbit expert. Before buying I asked the meadow hay people about any wheat contamination. Now I completely understand about the law aspect of them needing to cover themselves...
  5. I was wondering this same thing! I had a reaction to ham that shut my eyes! I woke in the morning to find my mouth and my eyes swollen to the point that my eyes couldn't open. I had never had my eyes effected like that. Now...I know why! Thnxs
  6. Oh it sounds painful I hope you get some much needed answers. I really know nothing about DH only as it relates to my own situation. I will say it is one of the symptoms I didn't educate myself on. I am so busy with the ones that really hurt, like my hands. Which is why I like this section, I'm learning. I wish you all the best, look forward to hearing...
  7. ughhh.....it makes me crazy. When I first get glutened it turns bright and I mean bright red (I look like I have a red mustache and beard, lol). Then it get raised and itches and stays like that for about oh it varies but I'd say about a week then it begins to peel. Dry flakes that keep peeling like a sunburn but no matter what you do, it keeps right on peeling...
  8. hey, good idea with the wash cloth. Any advice on hubby, lmol......
  9. I can still see mine if I look in a 10x mirror but it's gone with the naked eye! I have been gluten-free (with the exception of getting glutened more often than I should) about 2.5 months. I am thrilled since it was smack dab on the middle of my face. The peeling is what took forever, especially on the hair line
  10. LMOL, yes it's great. I do love that everyone here gets it. So valuable to healing!
  11. My adorable 5 year old son will come at me after he eats lunging in for a kiss and I have to put out my hand to his chest and stop him quick! It kills me, but he like most 5 year olds, wears his food on his face. Personally I think in the begining a little extra caution is best. I am just like you and i am still making mistakes! Grrr....
  12. Me too, sooo happy. They did stitch, sorry. I meant a divit (sp?). Like a severe chicken pox scar. I call it a hole, lol. I could not imagine itching wear my bra is, that would make me crazy. I bet hot weather is awful for it. I wish I knew something that might work. Good luck on the 8th!
  13. I was at my son's school speaking to someone who thinks her son has celiacs. I was telling her some of the visual signs and started talking about the brain fog and how having even a simple conversation would be impossible that I lost my words all the time. THEN...it hit me...I am having a conversation right now and I didn't loose one word, didn't say the...

    ARCHIVED Nausea!

You can eat as much fennel bulb as you wish and it really does help! I hope you feel a little better every day. It does take time, sadly.
  15. I use cera-ve with some baking soda to wash my face, then cera-ve lotion afterwards. I have eliminated almost all of my blackheads, works like a charm. That and the good eating! It is gentle enough to care for skin with hives, and the dreaded Dermatitis Herpetiformis. Which I am happy my face is no longer red and peeling! Now if I could just fill...
  16. I didn't know that but that's the kind of salt I use, from france . I want to try Hawaiian salt too. I am sure processed foods use the bleached salt so I try to have so little PFoods.
  17. roasted garlic mashed potatoes with broccoli, and, with luck hubby will find and bring home to me some gluten-free beer! I am having a craving, must be the yard work I did today! BTW, I have to shout-out a big thanks. I have only read 4 pages of this thread and found I can have 3 things I thought I couldn't! I never eat breakfast because I can't find...
  18. Rice milk is a new one for me. I am afraid to try it, I tried the coconut milk and wasted the entire half gallon, couldn't take the taste. I love love love almond milk but can't have it anymore. Soy milk is terrible to me, should I try rice milk?
  19. NAh, I would love a new grinder but I have a long list of things to get. At this point I would rather buy a vitamix gluten-free cooking gadgets, that's a good new thread! Things that help make the best gluten-free foods. I really needed to hear husbands all over are like mine! It makes me feel less crazy! Isn't that how you feel when you're trying...
  20. Since you have a roomate that may or may not be keeping the crumbs and gluten off the counters you need to grab some plastic cutting boards. This has helped me with my family, who at 5 years and husband are not as careful as they should be. I always use a clean for-me-only cutting board to lay my food on while preparing it. You can get a pack of 4 for about...
  21. Ha ha, no...not really but it's the best advice. I can't be sure no matter how much I clean it My husband is an engineer and he wants to take it to work and see if he can really take it apart & clean it. IF he does that, then I most likely won't be able to sell it. I am going to try to bless someone else and sell it at low cost to them. Thank you...
  22. I finally got power back, write a whole post and I lost it. Grr. I have been trying all the wonderful recipes and a big thank you. My salad is now dressed very nicely! I love all the mayo recipes I never thought I'd have it again. While trying these recipes I discovered that if you add Josephs garlic lovers hummus with a spoonful of tomato paste and...
  23. As of today my seriously expensive nutrimill grain mill is in my lower cabinet doing nothing. Before I was dx I used it for wheat berries, lots and lots of wheat. Do you think there is a way to clean it well enough to use again? I could give it to my husband who could use an air pressure hose at work to clear it out, then I could wash it but what about the...
  24. OMG! You guys rock! Thank you, I went from bleak to siked. I love this whole site, makes me less alone and give tons of hope for everything. I am going food shopping now so I wil have to check it all out. I did try avacado once but it might have been my recipe. Thanks again!
  25. I have adopted well to this whole gluten-free eating except cheese. So sad. Anyway, I can't have gluten, dairy, casien, shellfish, nuts(tree or peanuts), or eggs. I am looking for a homemade salad dressing that's creamy. I know you can use nuts but I can't have them. So....if I had oil, spices, vinegar, and S&P...that's great but I am so craving creamy...
