  1. sorry, I should have been more clear...no signs of infections,no sores, no cold sores...I wonder if it's a B12 deficiency or an allergic reaction? will find out my B12 results next week and now I have a referral to an allergist..I was told the office would call me to set up the appointment...whenever/whatever I find out is the cause, I will post back and hopefully will help someone else who might have this symptom!

it feels like I ate something hot/spicy and it got on my lips.

  2. My kids are older so I don't remember how their bm's were at age 3..I watched my nephew yesterday and his bm was pretty mushy, like a newborn's would be. It was also light tan with a green tint...the green very noticeable. This kid hardly eats anything and I doubt he ate anything that would turn his stool greenish. He will only eat sausage, bacon, ham, pork chop and maybe corn. He does drink milk...I think maybe he has a milk allergy...he always sounds like he has a lot of nasal congestion and he breathes really heavy, I mean you could be across the room and hear him breathe. He is not overweight and is active...any advice?

  3. I haven't always had red circles under my eyes, popped up a few years ago...I thought maybe they are allergy shiners, but I googled and the pics showed what looked like bruises..mine don't look like bruises just redness. Just curious.

my doc said I was iron deficient at one time but levels were fine a few months ago. I'm going to have iron levels checked again, but wonder if it could be from iron deficiency instead?

  4. had ds retested a few months ago, GI doc refused to do IgG versions(TtG IgG and EMA IgG) because #1 DGP IgG is negative

#2 celiac gene test came back extremely low risk

my question: since he has a low total serum IgA, should I go ahead and ask his pediatrician for IgG versions? or does his GI doc know what he's talking about? Does a negative DGP IgG and negaive DGP Iga definitley mean no celiac?

  5. Thanks Karen! I was asked if I wanted copies sent to my family doc(I said yes) so I will call and see if they have the copies and if not, I"ll ask the nurse to request them! I never would have thought of that! :)

I just called, they don't have copies of the blood test results but the nurse is going to call and get them and send everything to me.

    thanks again for the idea!

  6. My follow up appointment isn't til March...My endoscopy was done primarily to check for Barrett's and dilate my esophagus..I forgot to tell the doc I wanted more than just one sample to biopsy for celiac and totally forgot to ask how many he took after I awoke. My esophageal biopsy is benign, so that means no cancer! Thank God!! but was told my blood test results for celiac and h. pylori are negative and the biopsy negative too.

I was rereading the info I was given and if I want copies of my test results I have to pay $35!! can they do that??? I never have to pay to get copies whenever I have tests done in my family doc's office.

    advice???

  7. for those of you who have white spots on your teeth, where are the spots located on your teeth? I don't know if I have any spots on the backside, mine are on the front some are more towards the gumline and some are towards the other end of the tooth...my older sister and I always had cavities growing up even though we brushed(of course, my younger sister never brushed and never had a cavity)

Another reason I'm asking is because my youngest ds just lost a tooth and I happened to look at it and it had white streaks on the backside.

(for reference, I found out I have acid reflux)

  8. You will be ready. Most Celiac Centers recommend 6 weeks for challenge. The University of Chicago recommends 12 weeks. Sounds like you'll be at 12 weeks by the time of your endo on the 25th.

Also, you don't need to ingest gluten at every meal. One slice of gluten containing bread per day is plenty.

Good Luck! Make sure your GI takes at least 6 samples for celiac biopsy - not all gastroenterologist are familiar with correct celiac biopsy procedure - sad, but true.

How can I get the GI to take 6 samples?? I called today and requested 6 samples and the nurse told me no, they only take 2,...and when doing the EGD, the GI will be able to see the damage.

  9. I ordered mine through the pharmacy at London Drugs. I ordered Thursday and it arrived today. They don't tack on shipping charges. A few other websites I looked at said 2 - 5 business days.

Are you in Canada? The websites I saw said they only ship to addresses in Canada.

    No, I"m in the U.S.

I didn't see that the company only ships within Canada.

can you post a link to the product on the london drugs website? it's not coming up in a search...

  10. <.< you don't have to take nexium ya know. After a while, it does NOTHING. I was on it for 6 months or so and as time progressed it stopped working. I went off of it and now can control my GERD through my diet(no grease, no fatty foods, no spicy). Do i still get acid reflux? sure, but i can maintain it better than when i was on those meds. At any rate, it isn't good to stay on the same medication for long periods of time, your body gets used to it and stops working. /end nexium induced rant.

At any rate, I dispised the seditive they used one me. It made me feel like the room was spinning. I also don't wake up very well from them, so generally i have to stay longer than a normal person does.

Yes I do need to clean up my diet, I find it hard to give up my one cup of coffee. :) I must have silent reflux cause I don't feel the "backsplash" very often...so in that case how would I know whatever I'm trying is working??

  11. Hi eveyone, I am having an endoscopy done to check for Barrett's esophagus and I thought I'd go ahead and ask for a celiac biopsy at the same time...get it all done in one shot!

I have been eating gluten for lunch and dinners and snacks for the past few months (I don't remember exactly maybe 2-3 months) but still eat some gluten free foods..mainly at breakfast

should I go ahead and have the biopsy done or have I not been eating enough gluten for very long. my appt. is Oct. 25

for the record I've had a negative blood test but I have Hashimoto's(autoimmune disorder)
