  1. I took a look at some of the links relating to this book, but dismissed it when I saw that it allows dairy. I can't have any dairy whatsoever. It's so bad that I even puke when I eat popcorn (too much butter???). I think it would be great to find a good celiac friendly diet that can speed healing of the gut. Anyone know any?
  2. I'm wondering the same thing. Anyone know any good links with info on how to heal the intestine faster? I'm tired of the bloating and of living on the toilet.
  3. Is anyone else overwhelmed with all the info out there on GI disorders? I don't know what to eat anymore: There is so much conflicting info at times. I love tea, but I just read that the caffeine may not be such a good thing to heal the gut yet I also know that tea is allowed for celiacs. I think that I would benefit from some sort of a fast/elimination...
  4. I should have also added that excessive hunger sometimes results due to malabsorption. How much are you eating?
  5. I get very bloated when I eat gluten too. I also gained 25 lbs in 1 year b/c my appetite was out of control. Doc said is not necessary to be skinny with celiac....If you are eating like I was, you are bound to gain weight....even if much of it is going right through you via excessive bowel movements. Not sure if any of this is true, but it has been my...
  6. I'm such a techno-pheasant, but somehow I managed to get it right. This one is much better.
  7. LOL...Yeah, I did...but it's not the file I wanted uploaded. The one that I want is .bmp and I don't know how to convert it. It's hard to see anything in the one that I currently have up.
  8. I think I've figured it out. I have to convert the file. How do I do that?
  9. The avatar doesn't work either!
  10. I have followed all the steps for posting my pic, but keep getting a message that says: "You are not allowed to access this feature", or some such thing. Anyone know what the problem could be???
  11. Hi everyone, Just wondering how long it takes for the excessive bowel movements to cease. I've been gluten free for 10 days, or so I think...yet spent lots of time in the toilet today. I have cut out all dairy, corn and gluten. One more q.....What colour should my stool be? It is always light brown. Should it be dark brown? Glad it is no longer...
  12. Anyone know which sausage brands are gluten free?
  13. Thank you for all of your replies!! It is nice to get some answers. Are the pans and utensils really that important? I had never thought of that and my doc hadn't mentioned it (but then again he also said that it didn't matter if my birth control pills had gluten in them after I'd asked....they don't, btw...I checked with the manufacturer...Diane 35)....
  14. I'm really bloated again. SIGH. I've been 10 days gluten free and was doing well with the bloating for a few days in there. Maybe I'm getting gluten and don't know it. Hmmmm. How long does it normally take for the bloating to disappear? Should I stay away from fibre? Before going gluten free, dairy free I was having sometimes 7 stools per day...it...
  15. Thanks for all of your replies. I'm 29 and was finally told by my doctor that I have celiac last week, but without any testing (just by symptoms). I have had nagging complaints for years, but had not connected the dots until my mom told me that she has a "wheat allergy" (her English isn't good, but she managed to pick this up from her doctor). I went...
  16. I think that I had DH about a year and a half ago. I had the rash on my elbows (very very itchy) and also had multiple red dots on my scalp. Just wondering whether the presence of DH indicates the severity/damage of having celiac. Is it a sign of the disease being really advanced?
