ARCHIVED Pcos And Celiac....any Connection?
Eliza13 replied to melisadki's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have read that PCOS is related to celiac. I'll look for a link and post it here. Skar -
My hair has thinned considerably. I also know someone who had alopecia for years....her hair grew back after she went on a no carb-high protein diet to lose weight. Interesting.

Isn't it bizarre? I am still trying to figure out why it manifest in the right shoulder blade area. My doc is the one who told me it does, and I have now read that it does BUT can't seem to find out WHY. If anyone knows, please do tell! Skar

I also cannot eat butter. Whenever I eat buttered popcorn I throw up. Could also be the corn, But in combo it kills me! Do you have pain in your back (upper right quadrant)? Mine is very sore there. Skar

Hi everyone, I went to a new doctor today b/c of more nausea and pain in my back. I assumed that the pain in my right shoulder was completely unrelated to my abdominal problems, but the abdomen strikes again. Apparently, gallbladder disease often manifests as pain in right shoulder, along with the abdominal symptoms. Anyone else have this? Skar

Here we go again! My co-worker noticed a lump on my back today that I had not noticed before. When she said it, I was shocked. I have had pain there for a long time, but had no idea that I have a lump there!!!! What the heck can this be? I suspect that my problems go beyond celiac and am going back the doctor.

Thank you all for your replies. I bought the book today and plan to start tomorrow. I will keep all of you posted. It makes alot of sense to me, but I'll believe it when I see it. I think I'm tired, but I will try it if will mean feeling great. Maybe we can all add to the thread and provide updates on how the diet is working for us. Anyone agree?? ... -

ARCHIVED More Than Celiac
Eliza13 replied to Eliza13's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi nogluten, No...I have not had either, and am beginning to question why my doc hasn't ordered more tests. I think I'm going to get a second opinion b/c this just doesn't seem right to me. The prolactin has been high twice, but was down on my last visit. I still, however, do not get my period. Can celiac really account for all of my problems??? ... -
ARCHIVED More Than Celiac
Eliza13 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I keep thinking that there is more going on with me than just the celiac, especially because of the lack of periods and high prolactin. My doc did not run too many tests on me, so should I be concerned??? It drives me nuts to not know 100% why I don't get my period. SKAR -
Was your daughter ever advised to go off gluten? Stong correlation b/w celiac and Lupus. Skar.

ARCHIVED Paleo Diet
Eliza13 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I was glutened last week (I think!!), and as a result had vomitting for 2 days and extreme abdominal distention all week. I am kind of afraid to go without rice, potatoes and starchy vegetables since these have become my staples, but the only time I remember ever having a flat belly was when I was on a protein type diet. Could this be b... -

ARCHIVED Got Better- Now Getting Worse!
Eliza13 replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Berneses, I know the feeling. I have suffered all week, with nausea earlier in the week and my stomach as big as a house all week. I'm pretty sure that I did not ingest any gluten, but the one new thing that I ate all week was pork. I'm thinking that perhaps I am allergic to pork, but am not sure. There was a strange ingredient in the pork (sodium... -
My stomach has been as big as a house all week. I was pretty sure that I got glutened on Sunday. I think it was the pork I ate, since it had a strange ingredient BUT it does not appear to be a typical gluten-containing ingredient so I am confused. I am beginning to think that maybe I am allergic to pork, and that is what is making my tummy huge. Any thoughts...

Long-term GERD can sometimes lead to Barrett's esophagus, a condition in which the color and composition of the cells lining your lower esophagus change because of repeated exposure to stomach acid. Barrett's esophagus is uncommon. Only a small percentage of people with GERD develop Barrett's esophagus. But once Barrett's esophagus is diagnosed, there...

Thanks guys for the kink words. This is not something to take lightly. I swear to never have gluten knowingly again, and I am going to be extra vigilant so that this doesn't re-occur. This is scary stuff.... My aunt just had surgery for barrett's ring....two of my aunt's have major hair loss...another one has fibromyalgia and bi-polar, my bro has...
