ARCHIVED Wheat Free And Gluten Free
VydorScope replied to Kiki2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have heard reports, but not seen first hand, that some products labeld gluten-free contain oats. Until we have a defintion of gluten-free here in America, I dont think you can trust lable "gluten-free" unless its from a known brand thats good about it (ie Enjoylife, Nestle, and otherss) -
ARCHIVED Fda Warning For Adhd Drugs
VydorScope replied to Ursa Major's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Im not gonna argue this with you Urlsa, I might as well say celiac disease is all in your head an you should just get over it. Its the same thing your saying to me. Yes I read the article and YES there is non-stimulant med out for ADHD. The simple fact is, I know what happens to untreated geninue ADHD. Its a CRUEL CRUEL thing to deny them any hope... -

VydorScope replied to Ursa Major's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hate to break it to you by HEALTH-CANADA is not the FDA "All ADHD drugs stimulate the heart and blood vessels. Their effects are usually mild or moderate, but in rare cases, the stimulation may cause cardiac arrests, strokes or sudden death." Not true any more. Theres a new one out thats is not a stimulant. As for the rest of the article... -

ARCHIVED Could Your Babies Tolerate Oats?
VydorScope replied to KayJay's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Ummm... if your giving her oats, then she has had gluten. Not being picky, just want to be sure your clear on that. My son could not tolerate oats, infact in the end it was oats that tipped us off to his celiac disease. -
ARCHIVED Mcdonalds Fries Are Not Gluten Free
VydorScope replied to msserena's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Your right, and I do not take my son to those places. When he has had McDondals fries his reaction was very bad, and very clear. CC risks are everywhere, and we accept that, but when a place like McDondals constitenly has an issue, we steer clear. I said that BEFORE this new ingredient informatoin came out, and stand by it. REGUARDLESS of any gluten in the... -
ARCHIVED Question About Potty Training And Possible Celiac Stools
VydorScope replied to Chako's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Dont. It is all or nothing, you can not do both. Either try the diet now and forget the scope, or suffer all the way to Step 11. The diet WILL effect the results. I did not see if you mentioned you tried the simple blood tests? I am NOT a doctor, I am only a parent that has been there... Let me run through this with you... Say you try... -

ARCHIVED Anyone Eating Oats?
VydorScope replied to Mayam's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My understanding of the facts is this.. All mainnstream oat sources are contimated with gluten from wheat. If you have celiac disease you will get damage/etc from the wheat gluten, after all thats what celiac disease is. Some ppl may not think they react due to diferent levels of sensitivity. But the gluten is there, and that makes them off limits to anyonne... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Eating Oats?
VydorScope replied to Mayam's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link sells oats they calim are not contimated. Outside of that all major brands (Quacker, Macanes, etc) all were tested and found to be continmated. I am not willing try them with my son, when he is old enouhg to understand I will let him make that call. -
Umm I am not falimure with the name "Hyperinsulinemia" but that souds like over production of Insilin which would cause hypoglycemia. Do you have a home glocuse test kit or access to one? If not , get one I purchased mine for $15 at CVS and it came iwth 10 test strips. This his how you test, and take GOOD NOTES durning the test, esply with reguard to symptons...

ARCHIVED Fruity Pebbles
VydorScope replied to Mindy35's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oats are a big nono for celiac disease...preahpas becasue you dont have celiac disease, just DH you can get away with it. All oats are contimated, not just Quaker. There is one Candaian and one Americal company making gluten free oats, but both are brand new and have no history to check realy and none of the mainstream companies use them that I know of. -
As long as you stay on the gluten-free diet you should beable to have childern (assuming you do not have any futher complications).
