Hi
I've been a member for a couple of years but I don't think I've posted on here before?
Hope you can help me, I had the blood test done by my GP in 2011 and after being told it was 'normal' I went away confused but willing to take the diagnosis of 'IBS' away with me...but wasn't convinced...
Two years go by and I just can't go on anymore like this so I go back for a second blood test...same result same response! My GP absolutely insists my results are so 'normal' there is no way he could justify referring me for an endoscopy....so I'm at a standstill! I'm in the UK so if I want to go forward with the endoscopy its got to be done privately.
Before I take this any further, can someone have a look at my test results below and make any sense of what this 'normal' test says!!! I'm mystified....
This week has been horrendous, symptom wise, particularly bad today....
Thank you

I'm new to the forum but I've been watching the site for a while. I'm wondering if anyone has done the Biocard test at home before? I've just taken the test after 6 weeks of heavy gutening and its shown up negative. I decided to do it because I had a blood test done in the summer and it was again negative but with 'slight gluten' nothing significant showing and the doc just said to eat wholewheat breads good fresh fruit and veg and treated me for IBS instead! It's so frustrating so i decided to go basic gluten free for a little while which made a huge difference even without going completely guten free so I decided to make sure I ate plenty of gluten for 6 weeks then do the biocard test to then take back to my docs for a re-test.
Another negative test but have a mouth full of ulcers plus a ton of other symptoms (kept a food and symptom diary the whole time)
I just wondered if anyone's done this test at home and whether they took things further....I'm not sure which way to go now... do I stop glutening myself and see how I go completely gluten free with a self diagnosis eventually or do I continue to eat gluten and go back to my docs without any evidence to persuade him to do a re-test... I really don't know what to do next...

I've had mouth problems all my life but mostly noticed them the last 10 years and originally thought it was since having my twins 12 years ago but now i think my symptoms are linked to gluten! I've had really bad canker sores so bad that i took 2 lots of antibiotics to get rid of one batch a couple of years ago and currently have a lovely yellow one sticking out on my bottom lip so everyone can see it! nice! I'm currently being seen for gum disease (passed from dentist to dentist for over 8 years or so) they look at me like its my fault and ask me over and over if I smoke and drink red wine.... so sick of it! (the answer's no btw) I'm currently taking gluten in my diet every day for about 5 weeks now ready for a re-test and so far I currently have 3 large mouth ulcers and my gums have been more sensitive today than ever. None of my dentists have ever mentioned diet to me and my doctor who thinks I have IBS has never acknowledged mouth ulcers being diet related. hope this helps - i'm not diagnosed yet but pretty sure gluten is the culprit for many of my symptoms

I'm new to the forum - today in fact! I had a blood test done about 6 months ago "small amount of gluten" not enough to refer me for an endoscopy and since then been treated for IBS! I did a self gluten free diet for 6 weeks and felt great - decided to do a re-test so I'm now 6 weeks into eating gluten again on a daily basis and feeling absolutely awful at the moment and what's drawn me to post here today is that I am having some real problems with my gums, have about 3 large ulcers giving me alot of pain and having read this thread I'm wondering now if my 10 year or so problems with my teeth and gums could be attributed to gluten!!! I'm going back to my docs soon with my food diary but will definately be bringing up my dental history too (currently waiting for my bottom front two middle teeth to fall out as my gums have receeded so badly and they're moving appart - sick of telling the dentist I dont smoke or drink red wine!!!) Does this make sense to anyone? Also had a huge reaction to pasta today almost straight after eating it I had stomach cramps which lasted a good 5-6 hours! Any comments you have will be really appreciated.
