  1. No offense, but most of your posting is just a copy of the one that started this thread. If you're afraid to try the enzyme that is available, then would you please be kind enough to either give us some new information or leave some room for those that are not afraid? Thank you.
  2. Here is another multi-enzyme product, SerenAid, that contains DPP-IV: Open Original Shared Link This may not be good for Celiac, because it contains protease* - please don't order, or take, it without getting the correct information. I am going to contact Klaire, the manufacturer, and see what they say. *This link has been posted before, which...
  3. That's exactly the way I feel about it. Even if DPP-IV only helps partially, as in the case of an accident, it's probably worth taking every day. Once I find out that I am OK with the DPP-IV, and (maybe) an associated multi-enzyme formula from Kirkman, I am going to take it on a daily basis. One of their multiple-enzyme products, Enzym-Complete, already...
  4. An Email, from Kirkman Labs, received by one of our Celiac.com members today, in response to an inquiry: DPP IV Forte is just one enzyme. It does help with casein and gluten, but works better in conjunction with other enzymes. We have several customers who use it together with the Enzyme Aid or Enzyme Complete for when they think they may need extra help...
  5. We can wait five, ten, or twenty years until (or if) this product is approved for pharmaceutical use, or we can try it now. Since the overall tone of the responses to my postings regarding this has been negative, by "advanced members" (lol), I will not bother to post the results of my personal use of this product on this board.

  7. Yes, that's true - but how can they prove that you "knew" you had Celiac? Most army hospitals are not exactly SOTA, to say the least. Anyway, my best wishes go out to all our Military people with, or without, Celiac.

How do you know that? Did you read these links? Peptidase supplement product for Gluten ingestion now available. If the link does not work, it is by Kirkmanlabs.com and the product is called DPP-IV FORTE™ Capsules, under "enzymes": Open Original Shared Link Research at Stanford University regarding Peptidase dietary enzyme supplement: Open O...

    ARCHIVED Rebelling

From reading the manufacturer's information, it has the ability to actually DIGEST gluten - so hopefully there should be no damage, or symptoms to "mask", if the gluten is digested properly. These are the same supplements that are being studied at Stanford and in Oslo. Open Original Shared Link We can help by giving it a chance. Having...

    ARCHIVED Rebelling

If anybody is going to eat gluten, or even THINK they might by accident, they should try this: Open Original Shared Link I have some, and am going to try it the next time I go to eat out, or anytime I think I might get glutened. This stuff COULD start changing the future of Celiac disease for many of us. One person on this board tried it, but...
  11. I'd bet that there are numerous people in the U.S. military with celiac disease, whether they (the person, not the military organizations) know it or not.
  12. I posted this the other day: It’s not claimed to be a “cure”, but they say that it can help digest gluten in cases of accidental ingestion. Peptidase is the same protein that they are testing at Stanford, and at Oslo, Norway: Open Original Shared Link It seems like an excellent company. From the product description: WHAT IS DPP-IV? Dipeptidyl pepti...
  13. You can still have whiskey - when I crossed the pond for a tour of Ireland I brought back two bottles (Jameson & Bushmill). I never liked beer much, anyway, so it was not a sacrifice to "stop" drinking it. I do still like to wear my black Guinnes T-shirts, which are entirely printed in the Irish language. There will no doubt be a solution for...
  14. Maybe I'm not getting this right, but this seems to be a suggestion to make a cake with BOTH gluten and non-gluten ingrediants in different layers. I don't think that having ANY glutened cake underneath, or on top of, gluten-free cake is such a good idea. Again, maybe I misunderstood.
  15. Actually, eating the worm would be healthier than the noodle. Worms are gluten-free!
  16. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of Asians, and their diets are rice-based, for carbohydrates, rather than wheat. You can get a bag of rice pasta for about 79 cents in a Chinese supermarket. They also have a lot of rice cakes, and all different types of similar products. You have to watch out for gluten in the soy sauce, but there are types that are...
  17. I'd guess that there may be a lot more Asian people with undocumented Celiac, but the statistics are off because their diets are less prone to aggravate it.

  20. Thank you for your input, Bette. Sorry you had such a bad reaction to the product. I have not tried the DPP-IV Forte yet, but plan on taking some, as a preventative measure, the next time I eat anything that could possibly be gluten-contaminated. This would most likely be in restaurants. I'm just surprised that this product is not better known...
  21. Very informative posting, Wendy. Since I rarely eat fish, I take Nordic Naturals Omega 3 - their "Ultimate Omega" capsules. I only take one a day, rather than the recommeded two, becuase they are very potent. They are available in Vitaminshoppe's stores and website. 22. Speaking as someone who has gone through life with similar problematic circumstances including deaths, layoffs, relationship/living arrangement breakups, multiple health problems and other bad situations, I can only advise you to take things one step at a time, and try to cultivate patience. If you do this you will get through it all. You may want to try...
  23. I also have Mitral Valve Prolapse, and a lot of the symptoms that people are describing are consistent with it. You can get diagnosed with an Echo. Many doctors and health professionals do not understand it and play it down, telling patients that “it’s all in your head”. It is not. Not everybody that has MVPS (Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome) has ...

ARCHIVED Looking For Doc In Nyc

Yes, and they have the newest technologies in their diagnostic equipment – better, from what I understand, than many major hospitals. It’s a state-of-the-art facility, with a very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Sometimes there’s a wait to see the doctor, like everywhere. The day of my "procedure" however, everything went great. When I had my endoscope/biops...
