  1. yes it is one of my all time favorites and now also one of my sons. I like to make a side of rice and pour on a little of the broth and some of the onions I roasted under the chicken
  2. how about yogurt? My son (22 months) is gluten free and lactose free, but I heard yogurt especially the greek style yogurt can be tolerated by the lactose intolerant crowd.
  3. thanks I want to make a roast chicken tomorrow and use the left over for a stock to freeze for soup in the future. Is it ok if I refrigerate the carcass over night. I just want to get the best flavor out of it and to me leftover chicken just doesn't taste as good.

  5. does anybody have a good recipe for chicken stock/soup using the leftover carcass?
  6. I think I was warned for the same thing twice. Can someone help me. I know posted An internet site that I had one of my recipes posted on, but I think that was my only mistake. And how long does it take for my warn status to go away?
  7. When my son use to eat infant cereal i would mix it with apple sauce and pasteurized egg whites. The apple sauce was to make it taste good and the egg white is of the highest quality protein. I get the pasteurized egg whites in the super market by the egg section.
  8. was wondering how other people tolerate beer. I myself seem to not have a problem with it. I was never diagnosed with celiac disease I am Gluten intolerant. The most testing I ever got done was a blood test while I was on a strict gluten free diet. I also suspect my son son ( 22 months) is also gluten intolerant and he is definitely lactose intolerant. My...
  9. roast beef tonight with rice and black beans. My roast beef is a favorite in my family and its so easy. I take a bottom round or rump roast (about 3 lbs.) season it (I use adobo) and sear it. After i put a good sear on it I roast it (covered) on a bed of onions and about 3/4 cups of water on the bottom in the same dutch I used to sear it in for about 3 hours...
  10. thanks for the response. My son does eat soy yogurt from time to time. I would like to give him the greek style yogurt because of the good things in it (probiotics, calcium, protein). Have You ever tried to give your son the greek style yogurt? I heard that it is very low in lactose and because of that some of the lactose intolerant crowd can tolerate it...
  11. I love corn tortillas ,though my son (22 months) is a little young for them. I get them in bulk from a mexican restaurant near my home (queens, ny). they make them fresh in the restaurant while your eating and they only use corn and water nothing else added in.
  12. I've tried to cook and mash the sweet potato first and then add it in, but I think it tastes better to just peel and shred it right into the mix. I think the sugar in the sweet potato starts to caramelize while its baking.
  13. i like to take my favorite muffin mix (namaste) and shred a sweet potato into it. it really is good. and my son (22 months) loves them. Sometimes I switch it up so he doesn't get bored of the same thing. u can mash a couple bananas or dice up some apples and add cinnamon. sometimes i will cut the muffin in half, soak it in egg and pan fry it. I call that...

  15. I have been gluten free my whole life and been working out for about 11 years (off and on) and I believe that the diet is very healthy. I have two older brothers and I'm bigger (muscles) then both. There is plenty of good nutritious gluten free grains out there. One of my favorite (probably the best grain for us in the world) is quinoa. i have a feeling you...
  16. my son is gluten free/lactose free. I am also gluten free (since about 9 months old) so that part wasn't too difficult for me because I really don't know how it is to not be gluten free. But a lactose free diet is new to me. He is getting along just fine, but he never was on a diet with lactose in it. A question for all the lactose intolerant. Can you tolerate...
  17. My 22 month old some is on a gluten free/lactose free diet. I was wondering if greek yogurt is a no-no for the lactose intolerant diet?

  19. My son is now 22 months and We go through some of the things that the rest of u all talk about. We noticed within a couple weeks he couldn't tolerate cows milk because his bm were wet, yellow, and about 10-12 a day. So we switch him to a soy based formula a almost immediately it was normal. When we started solid foods we noticed he was intolerant to gluten...
  20. My son would not drink milk when it was time to take him off his formula. So what we did is mix a little milk into his formula and slowly mix more milk in until he was drinking straight milk. it took about 6 weeks or so, but we got it done. we started out with 1 part milk 3 parts formula. he drinks lactaid because he seems to be lactose intolerant also gluten...
  21. wow vitoria5 that was quite a response. You obviously did your homework and i'm not sure i can add to that. I have been on a gluten free diet my whole life now (31 years) and i think you may know more then me about it. i am a father of 2 and my youngest (21 months) is on a gluten free/lactose free diet. We noticed the lactose intolerance very early when we...
  22. where do u get the quinoa flat bread?
  23. i've been eating gluten free my whole life and all ways put my bread directly from freezer into the toaster. It may require a butter knife to separate. Also if i plan on using it within a week i leave it in the fridge. I use "food for life" brown rice bread.
