  1. I was always fairly skinny when I was young(er). Then I hit puberty in high school and gained a few pounds but, I wasn't even close to being overweight. I saw a picture the other day of myself in the fall of 2005 and I looked thin, but not unhealthy. Later on in college I gained a lot of weight and then again when I was first married (spring 08). My heaviest...
  2. I'm sorry Winter for the trouble you're having. I do want to encourage you though because even at 115, you're still in the normal weight range for your height. I think if you were 111 again, you would be borderline underweight. I also think it's very unhealthy for a job to ask that much of you. If it's just you being worried about it and no one else cares...
  3. kwylee, you are right, it is better that they ask questions than to not. Skylark, It is good that I didn't get glutened, I should be grateful for that. Dani Nero, I wouldn't want it, even if it sounded great. Some of the new medications they come out with scare me just because it's so new, I would still be afraid of what my body would do. Besides...
  4. A chef, someone who deals with food...all the time...asked me yesterday if there was a pill I could take so I could have gluten! Dur! Sorry...it just feels like no one knows anything about gluten or Celiac or any of the stuff we go through. I would think, if you're a chef, you would educate yourself on food allergies! This all started because I asked him...
  5. Was going to make Parmesan Soup (It's actually Creamy Tomato Parm Soup but, I call it "Parm Soup" so that hubs will eat it) Haha! With some homemade bread but, we both decided on snacks for tonight. Popcorn, veggies with dip, chips with dip, cheese, and probably some baked kale chips. Yum! I love Wednesdays!
  6. Oh Melikamaui, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Have you looked into PCOS? I don't know how likely that could be but, that's one of the first things people think of. Sorry if I am like one of the million that have suggested it, if it's not it. In any case, thank you for rejoicing with me!
  7. Leftover gluten-free lasagna with homemade gluten-free bread. Yum!
  8. After being on a gluten-free diet for almost 3 months, I actually got a real period this month! Ahh! Yes, I am rather excited because it means I am starting to have regular cycles. I thought for the longest time that my period was suppose to come on the 15th of each month...only for months and months it was so chaotic...I now know why So this month, I was...
  9. Is anyone on here that is from the Allegany County area?
  10. I was seeing an endocrinologist last summer who was determined to DX me with PCOS(this was before I was DX with Celiac). I just knew that's not what it was. She kept asking me if I had hair growth on my chest and I kept telling her "No" and she also said my PCP didn't know what he was doing(and I trust him over her) when he did bloodwork . So, when she examines...
  11. Congratulations Addis! News like yours is very encouraging to me! I've been gluten-free since Sept. Didn't get a period in February and had a neg test. Starting to exercise more (not vigorous) and I'm still losing weight. I have always told myself that I would be fairly healthy whenever I do get pregnant. The most I've weighed is 174 and now I'm down...
  12. I'm in the same boat as you! Sort of. Been trying to conceive since Oct of 08. Since going gluten-free in December, I had a sort of period (ever use that phrase in January and completely missed it in February...took a test and came back negative. Thinking it might be a while before I am completely back on track and I finally get pregnant. Hope success...
  13. Thanks for your reply I know I have to avoid barley, it just surprised me that I would have the same reaction to citric acid as I did to barley.
  14. I'm new to the forum and just recently "diagnosed" with celiac on Dec 24. I noticed soon after I started a gluten-free diet that when I drank hot tea with roasted barley, I would have to urinate a lot that day. As soon as I quit drinking the tea, the constant trips to the bathroom stopped. Unfortunately, I noticed the same symptoms (recently) when I drank...
