I should prob switch antidep. but am nervous to do so right now. I am a 4th grade teacher and cannot miss work. Therefore, I am hesitant to do anything different....I think the pills def...

such a great response from all of you. thanks. I would love to post more things about celiac disease and being gluten-free (which Ive known about for 8 years now), however, I suffered, doubled over in pain in my stomach today, all day. I think I was glutened, yet not sure how. Ive been careful lately. I had to teach 28 4th graders with a mini celiac attack...

hello, just wanted to find out if any one else suffers from mental fatigue, where you just cant think straight? Im a 4th grade teacher and deal with a lot of things. Sometimes, I just feel like I cant concentrate, even when being spoken to. I am also making lots of mistakes that even my students comment. I need them to remind me of everything related to school...

Thank you for your good advice and concern. Yes, I have major issues with food and staying thin. Funny you should mention looking into vitamin deficiences....currently Im not taking anything (stupid, I know). Sometimes I get on a vitamin "kick" and am gung ho, making sure I have the essential ones.....vit.b, calcium, fish oil, etc. Then I just get lazy and...

Ever since being diagnosed 7 years ago, I have had to be on anti-depressants, such as Prozac and Wellbutrin. I was so incredibly depressed (and still am.....although not as severe as before where I would just have sad thoughts and outbursts of crying) and completely non-functional with certain things. I used to cry when I woke up in the AM to go to my teaching...

ARCHIVED Reaction To Novacaine
mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yesterday I went to my dentist to fill yet another cavity. I had a horrible reaction after he gave me Novacaine. I was wondering if anyone else felt this way, or is it just me? Reaction: Broke out into a heavy, heavy sweat, felt like I was on fire. Got dizzy and weak, faint feeling. Had to lay down with an icepack on my forehead and neck. It was awful!!... -
This question is for my fellow female Celiacs..... does anyone know if DH can occur "down there"? I am not too embarrased to ask this question because having celiac disease can be very complex. You can have symptoms of things and not know if theyre related to celiac disease....sometimes the doctors arent even sure. So, heres the problem: I am a healthy...

ARCHIVED Airborne Cold Remedy
mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hello! I was wondering if anyone has ever tried the Airborne herbal treatment to ward off colds from germ-infested places, such as classroom or airplane. Its an effervecent that dissolves in water. It is supposed to help prevent getting sick with a cold. It was created by a school teacher who was tired of always getting sick. I'm also a school teacher... -

Plus, I never had a reaction (or one that I am aware of). speaking of food and restaurants, have you tried Peters?????? I found this place and LOVE it. Theres a gluten-free Menu. I have had their pancakes, and I eat the chicken cutlet parmisan (Not the correct spelling, forgive...

Eating fruit makes me sooooo much hungrier!!!!! So has anybody used the Rogaine for women? My derm suggested I try this. What about the fact that I use a flatiron to straighten my hair? Does anyone think this may be a factor in hair loss? Also, what kind of tests do I need to have the thyroid/goiter checked? Thanks
-
Thanks guys......I'll look into the thyroid thing. I used to think I had a problem w thyroid but had it checked maybe 3 years ago, it was fine. Does your lymph nodes under your neck ("adam apple") pulsate? Mine always feel enlarged!!!!! always!!!!! what the hell is THAT? Does this have anything to do with thyroid??? I'll call my doc and get it checked...

mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hello. This message really applies to the women....... Does anyone use undereye cream to get rid of puffy, dark circles? I usually do. The other day I bought a cream that I thought would work well. However, one of the ingredients is OAT. Is this safe to use, or should I avoid it? Are Celiacs really allergic to oat also? Im assuming yes, because I was told... -

For the ladies..... Has anyone ever used products from the company Nailtiques? Ive used this nail polish a while now, on and off for the past 6 years. ARCHIVED Artificial Sweetener
mandigirl1 replied to mandigirl1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all of your input. A lot of things made sense to me and Ive come to the decision to stop using Equal, and limit the Splenda. I guess if you think about it, there is true meaning behind the word "artificial"---its a substitute, fake, its not the real deal. Theres so much stuff we do not know for sure about when it... -
