mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has there been any celiac disease research regarding artifical sweeteners, like Equal or Splenda???? Could it be bad for Celiacs????? I use a ton of it: in my coffee and sugar free foods, diet soda...... I use it because I like to stay thin, so I tend to avoid sugar (sugar can be really, really bad for you (with or without Celiac) Artificially speaking... -

Yes, as far as I'm aware, I'm completely gluten-free, for 7 years now. However, I suspect I am getting glutened all the time. Maybe Im too risky, because Ive had celiac disease for a while, but I try to "be like everyone else" and eat in restaurants where there may or may not be contamination. I try to be very careful though....even my family/boyfriend. ...

Thank you everyone for your helpful input. I appreciate that people take the time to respond.....this forum is great! I have a specific question for richard. This may sound like a really stupid question (although as a teacher, I tell my students that NO question is a stupid one), but I was wondering if you inhale flour, are you getting glutened? For ex. Non gluten-free bread in a basket, sitting right in front of you, while eating with someone who isnt gluten-free. Or walking past a bakery, or the bread aisle...

Hello!!!! I am broken out very badly on my checks (acne) and I get cyst-like erruptions out of nowhere. A big, red, angry pimple appears from nowhere....for example, the tip of my nose!!!!!!!! I see a dermatologist and do get creams--they dont work. I also break out on my back and a little bit on my chest. Plus, my nails are so short, damaged...

Do you get the LGS from eating too much artifical flavors/coloring/fructose or processed food, for ex. rice cakes-plain or chocolate? Very interesting topic here, Would love to know more! Thanks

ARCHIVED Dunkin Donuts Coffee
mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just curious.......does anyone drink coffee from Dunkin Donuts? I do, very often. Im wondering if it is really is safe to drink coffee from a bakery/store that uses gluten. Does anyone think it could be contaminated, just from being in a place with gluten????? -
Finally! I found a place that has a gluten-free Menu consisting of a whole bunch of NONGLUTEN food. The food is amazing. When it came to giving up my usual chinese food (at least 1X/week), after being diagnosed, I said goodbye to it forever. Never thought I'd be able to eat anything remotely similar to the foods I enjoyed: wonton soup, all noodle...

I know that even a small amount of gluten in your food is dangerous. I would like to hear from you (since your the knowledgable 14 year old Celiac here), is it really, really true that one crumb can do so much danger, because if thats true, Im in trouble. This might explain why I always feel lousy. I eat out alot and take risks, thinking, So? What if the... -

I'd love to know where I could get support for my ED (or more specifically Excercise Binge Disorder) online? I would put myself in a food "coma" from 1000s of calories in bad/fattening food (chocolate mostly) then run to the gym for 3 hours to "purge" the calories I consumed. I havent been doing that lately, but, the obssessive thoughts/behavior is 24/... -
