  1. Gabbi, I can completely identify. My fist thoughts were of self pity and anger quickly followed by deep guilt. And I still bounce around. Fortunately I am an optimist by nature. I am just so grateful that my husband, kids and grandkids have been very supportive. I have only been gluten-free for about 7 weeks and although the intense itching of Dermatitis...
  2. One more product that I love. I have served these with cheese or spreads and everyone loves them. Crunchmasters crackers. I love the originals but there are other flavors. The best prices I have found for gluten-free food and for supplements is online at VITACOST. And Amazon has whole sections just for us!!!
  3. I am a relative newbie too. (less than 8 weeks gluten-free. I had NO interest I trying a bunch of yucky fake food either. My only two big reasons for grief were 1. Whadaya mean I can't have toast with my morning egg ? And 2. Uhhh, I'm Italian. I have to eat pasta! Well, we were at Trader Joe's with our son and granddaughter and my son kept pointing out...
  4. Mushroom, Thank you for your thoughtful response. I am taking an acidophilus capsule, drinking buttermilk just because it feels so good on my stomach. I have Probiotics on my shopping list but wanted to get some input from folks here first. Oh, and I have to start on Flagyl tomorrow for a week and I know that stuff will kill every thing alive in my system...
  5. ravenwood, Do you mind me asking how you know if you are having intestinal bleeds in your small intestine? How scary for you.
  6. dumbfounded and Wendy Lee I could not agree more. I was just diagnosed with Celiac, Dermatitis Hepetiformis and Hashimoto's all within the last 7 weeks. My Dr gave me a list of resources and this forum was on it. I am so grateful. Aside from one friend, who now lives in another state, I knew no one with Celiac. The people here have given me so much information...
  7. I can't imagine going back on gluten to get a piece of paper. Going gluten-free and having some symptoms improve right away and experiencing the effects of accidentally getting glutened is proof positive for me. Is there a compelling reason to have the biopsy? A close friend was diagnosed 2 years ago from the bloodwork, which was borderline. She went gluten...
  8. I have never found a coffee that contains gluten though I have only been looking recently and at standard supermarkets and coffee places. I'd love to know where/from whom you got the info.
  9. Riceguy I juice a couple of times a week just to clean the fridge and counter of fruits and veggies. We use the whole thing, peels, husks, tops, hulls, stems and seeds. (We pop in the entire cluster of grapes for instance) The amount of stuff left after juicing in a quality juicer is maybe a tablespoon. You can't put all that stuff in a blender and get...
  10. That is interesting! I am just learning about my Celiac, DH and Hashimoto's. I do know that I have been able to take much less Prilosec since starting on Probiotics and bone broth. I was discouraged last week when I went to my Dr with a list of questions and asked if leaky gut was something I needed to address. He said he'd never heard of it. And this...
  11. Ahhh that explains a lot! :-)
  12. I have been ill for years with chronic, debilitating fatigue, hip-knee-joint pain, depression and diverticulitis. After a bowel resection almost 3 years ago it took forever to get my strength back. Then, I started having intense itching of trunk, limbs and scalp, irritability, insomnia typified by waking after falling asleep and staying awake for hours....
