  1. I've been gluten free since April and I am still getting the pains in my side that feel like kidney stones sometimes. I know it can take YEARS to completely heal, so I just know I have to take it a day at a time and be thankful for those few, occasional days of not feeling like total crap. lol.
  2. Have you made sure none of your lip balms/gloss have gluten in them?
  3. Hehehe! I'm so going to tell him that tonight!
  4. Yes, I had the endoscopy and biopsies done. The damage was quite severe. I'm healing a lot better than I thought I would. Went to the allergist and have a nutritionist along with a neurologist and slowly getting everything on track. I have to say, I have NEVER felt this well in my whole life. Unfortunately the gluten wasn't the only thing with my migraines...
  5. Thank you, I'll have to break it to him tonight. I just really hate that I'm having to inconvenience him and my loved ones even more than I already had to. >.<
  6. Yeah, when you get glutened the sulfuric acid (or something like that) in your tummy gets all wonky and you get what I call the "sulfur burps" kind of tastes like rotten eggs. Pepto + acid reducer (zantac/ranidadine)+ probiotic does the trick for me when it comes to that. Then you just gotta ride out all the other stuff.
  7. Already have been to the allergist and tested for everything. Unless he has been rubbing his lips with fresh cut grass, it's gotta be the gluten.
  8. So, I've been gluten free since April, but my lips are still flaring up. Cracking at the corners and puffy and hurting. Is it possible that since my boyfriend works at an Italian restaurant and eating gluten, that when he kisses me, he is accidentally glutening me? If so, what could I do to prevent this?
  9. Hey, I'm around your age. I was diagnosed/gluten free in April. It would be great to have a gluten free friend around I'm in Renton.
  10. As soon as I get my results from the allergist I'll be trying some elimination diets to see if cutting out certain things help more with my migraines and stomach issues.
  11. Same here Kirstie, that's one of the reasons why I'm starting out at the allergist to see if there are any allergies setting me off and then I will go from there and start doing some elimination diets. I had a complete meltdown last night and today about everything going on with how crappy I've been feeling. I've been sick my whole life with one thing or...
  12. Yeah, I am looking for an allergist so I can see what else can be messing with my stomach/allergies/migraines as well.
  13. I made a New York Cheesecake with a Pecan crust
  14. I've been lactose intolerant longer than I can remember, haha. I haven't noticed any other problems with anything else, but I will keep an eye out. What are "nightshades"? I've seen that posted on the board a few times now but haven't heard of it until now. Thank goodness I like to cook and experiment. I think the thing that is getting me the most is...
  15. I don't live in Gainesville, but my boyfriend just moved from there this last September & he lived there his whole life. We plan on visiting sometime either later this year or next summer, if you'd like to talk and get to know each other, it would be nice to know someone and know places I could eat while we are visiting since I have Celiac's.
  16. Thank you for addressing that! I live in Washington State and Einkorn pasta was in the gluten free section of the store, so my boyfriend bought it and made it for me, but I didn't know what it was and wasn't with him when he got it. I had ONE bite and IMMEDIATELY got very sick and had a migraine that ended up putting me in the hospital after 4 days. How dare...
  17. Hey everyone, I'm new here and live in the Seattle area. Wondering if there is anyone here from Washington. Since I've been sick and diagnosed and going through all of this, most of my friends have pretty much dropped off the face of the earth and don't really care about what's going on with me since I don't feel well enough to go out and always party anymore...
  18. Totally know where you are coming from. I didn't think I would be ever to go out to eat ever again, but I have found some great places that have dedicated gluten free menus and know the seriousness of Celiac's in my city. Along with some completely gluten free bakeries and what not. Do some research, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find around...
  19. I was just diagnosed with Celiac about two months ago. I'm very committed to being gluten free and have been eating gluten free since my diagnoses, but I keep getting glutened from cross contamination. I'm still having horrible migraines, problems with my lips and canker sores in my mouth and massive stomach troubles, but I guess that it's just going to take...
