  1. Thanks for adding the link!
  2. I like Applegate. Expensive, but worth it. Organic, antibiotic free. Many are gluten and casein free.
  3. I found a recipe for a super easy pumpkin cake, and it's egg free too. I don't know how to link since I'm on my phone, but it is bigredkitchen.com. Two ingredients pumpkin cake with apple cider glaze. The blog post was old so this may be old news to some but I thought it was worth sharing. While this is not from a gluten-free blog, I simply substituted...
  4. I don't even know what Bannock is but it sounds good. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the recipe!

    ARCHIVED Seattle Doc

I like Dr Koch at Virginia Mason, however he admitted to not having a lot of experience with gluten intolerance (my issue) but he does have a few Celiac patients. He was very nice and actually listened to me though, which is more than I got elsewhere. Unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of celiac docs in the Seattle area. As a side note, I would...
  6. I had a lot of neuro symptoms that went away when I stopped gluten. I noticed an improvement within a few days but it took a couple of months to feel close to my old self again. It has been wonderful to actually feel good, and is so worth eliminating foods to reach this point. One comment, you have joint pain which I think is often caused by nightshades...
  7. I had chest pains, dizziness, vertigo, migraines in addition to the gastro symptoms and they ask went away when I stopped eating gluten. it is hard to be gluten free at times, but it is so much easier than the stress I went through constantly thinking I was dying.
  8. I've been surprised they are so hard to find in the Seattle area. We have so many top notch specialists here, but finding one with a celiac focus has been difficult. I think bastyr has a few homeopathic doctors that focus on celiac but I am not positive. I've had good luck with Virginia Mason GIs, but I'm still early in my testing and such so who knows how...
  9. That's exactly what I did as well for about 8 Weeks after going gluten free. For the past 2 weeks I have eaten mostly whole foods and I feel better than ever. I actually feel good for the first time in 1.5 years! I think processed foods have a place in this world but definitely in moderation.
  10. Good for you! May have been a hassle but it's nice to get validation. I was so pleased when I found a Dr who actually listened to me, even though like you he told me what I already knew.
  11. I also have had all those symptoms and more. Im still in the middle of testing but it looks like I have a gluten intolerance. Good luck with your tests! I know they are scary and annoying, but hopefully you'll get some answers.
  12. I had an EGD and a colonoscopy at a new GI today. He said everything looked good but we have to wait for biopsy results to know whats really going on. I really liked him so I'm hopeful he'll end up being a good doctor. At least he didnt laugh at me like my last GI when I discussed celiac and gluten. He says I at least have a gluten intolerance if it isnt...
  13. Thanks for posting this! I havent been diligent with checking labels on hair products and I know I should.
  14. Rick, is the pizza you have in the freezer from the pizza chain Garlic Jims? I've seen the frozen pizza in the grocery store with that name but wasnt sure they were the same as the chain. I've tried the restaurant pizza and it was fairly good but possibly made me a little sick. it was early in my gluten free transition so I cant say it was definitely...
  15. Thank you for the info. I am not sure how important the testing is to me. I think I accidentally ate gluten yesterday or today because I'm feeling really sick right now. All the symptoms are coming back very strong. And I was doing so well! Finally feeling good for the first time in months, I almost forgot how sick I was. There's no way I could go back to...
  16. Unfortunately I have been gluten free for 6 Weeks. I had already had the blood test and I honestly didnt think the diet would be that successful in eliminating my symptoms so I thought it was ok to try. Now im not sure I want to try gluten again for the testing. However, I would like to stop lisinopril if that's a problem.
  17. Hi. I am new here. I've been struggling with an undiagnosed illness over the past year and a half and been to every specialist in town without a firm diagnosis. Actually, every time a see a new doctor I have a new diagnosis: migraines, high blood pressure, anxiety, IBS, severe Vit D deficiency, slight anemia, and so on, but nothing seems to really be the...
