ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

This is a really good (easy to understand) page about methylation defects. Open Original Shared Link The third paragraph I think would describe what happened to me. It would be interesting to eventually have some genetic testing done to see if there truelly are some defects there. My poor diet could have easily contributed to deficiencies of important... -

Yeah...I'm soaking right now!! I'm still amazed that I drank all that apple juice without any inflammation occuring! That would have never been possible in the past. .....and you KNOW I'll be going back for another bottle today! It was soooo good! When I get inflammation from phenols or oxalates or whatever...its... -

Sherry, I'm really gonna try to interpret them! It gives me something to study and hopefully by the time my own results are in I'll have a much better understanding. Its very likely that we'll have some of the same abnormalities. My Dr. will interpret the results (when I see him next) and it'll be interesting to compare. My Dr. doesnt go by the lab interpretation... -

Question for the lymies. Would all of you say that fatigue is (or was) a major primary symptom of your Lyme infection? I dont think I know of anyone with Lyme who doesnt experience bouts of severe fatigue. Dr. P. said that Lyme patients have a profound type of fatigue.....which is why he doesnt think its a major player for me. Before I joined... -

Yeah...it is a tough subject...I had to put my "thinking cap" on. Its one of those things that you have to study over and over until it starts making sense. Its not as bad as math though. I'm doing alot of the biomedical type tests that are used by doctors treating autism. The organic acid test (OAT) is at the top of every list I've seen... -

I dont take epsom salt baths anymore (its been months) because I was feeling kind of "off" sometimes after the bath. I think it was because of sitting so long in the chlorinated water. I do really well with magnesium sulfate cream. Besides the digestive enzymes its the only thing that I've continued to order....and last night I ordered 2 more. I ran... -

OK...just wait....one of these days its all gonna make sense. In the meantime I'll just keep posting as I learn it. I think this metabolic pathway stuff is the most important piece of the puzzle for alot of people who are struggling. I dont understand all aspects yet...but I do have a good understanding of transsulfuration...only because I... -

Yeah...I can tell that its starting to sink in because I'm actually getting some replies to the scientific posts. Of everything I've researched this stuff is by far the most complicated and the most difficult to understand. I'm learning it little by little. Hopefully as I proceed with the new Dr. I'll gain a better understanding of how the process... -

Donna, I'm glad you got a definative answer finally and can go ahead and have it taken care of. Really good news on the surgery not being horrible and that you can have it done right here...with Dr. R. assisting. I'm sure thats a big relief. Also, YAY on getting out of the house....TWICE. -

It was regarding a controversial topic posted in another forum...nothing to do with this thread (or anyone posting in this thread)...and obviously WAY off topic and inappropriate. She only posted here because of the size of the thread and the amount of views. -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried The Foot Detox Cleanse Pads?
Rachel--24 replied to susieg-1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I know of several people who use detox foot pads...and yes, many of them do notice a difference. I agree with Paula that it does depend on the quality of the foot pads. I have some....however, I have not started using them yet. -

That quote came from this page... Open Original Shared Link Heres more info. Mercury and other heavy metals can interrupt the process of methylation...preventing the body from producing glutathione. For those of us who may be genetically susceptible....this interruption can occur at very low levels of exposure. Anna (my BioSET lady) had told... -

It depends on the type of testing you're doing. You have to get the tests which are specific to your problems if you want something to show up. For the first 3 years I had a TON of bloodwork done, not to mention the MRI, CT scans, x-rays, ultrasounds, bariums, endoscopy, colonoscopy, etc. None of these tests were very helpful and all of them (with the exception... -

Hormones (including thyroid) are detoxified through sulfation....regardless of whether they're taken orally or produced naturally by the thyroid gland. Personally, if I were in your shoes I would try desensitization first...to see if that helps. I havent ever heard of a thyroid cream. -

I would tend to agree considering that metals are still an issue as well as the infections....even after lengthy treatments. If you're blocked I would imagine that this prevents healing to some extent. Yeah...I'll have to look for it later though. I'm only on lunchbreak. I think its important to know where the "glitches"... -

and more.... Methylation is an extremely important process that is essential to our health. It activates brain-signaling molecules and inactivates DNA and RNA (it is how liver cells learn to be different from muscle cells and how we inactivate viruses). Impairment of the methylation mechanism impairs another process called sulfation. Sulfation is necessary... -

Anyone in the mood for scientificness?? When the methylation cycle isnt working the immune system is dysfunctional, the detoxification system is dysfunctional, the body's ability to heal is reduced and the anti-oxidant system (glutathione, etc.) mal-functions as well. Faulty methylation and sulfation has an effect on all of these things... ... -

April, I got mine when I was most toxic too. All of a sudden I got two red dots...out of nowhere...and it loooks like I'm stuck with them now. This reminds me...and I dont know if I mentioned it yet?? Remember the vein that got damaged during one of my mineral IV's. It was really swollen, hard and discolored...and the nurses said it would probably... -
