  1. I know it's terrible. But everything I eat makes me feel sick or worsens other symptoms. Everything. Plain boiled chicken, bananas, cooked carrots...I've had a really simple, unprocessed diet for awhile and it doesn't seem to have helped anything. But when I don't eat or I eat very, very little I have so much less pain. Even my fibromyalgia feels better!...
  2. I do, but I live with my parents and my three siblings and there is no way they would change their eating habits for me, even if I got a definite diagnosis. There's also no way I can move out as I have no money and am currently unable to make any.
  3. I was gluten-lite for about two years before I went to see my gastro back in October, and I went on a gluten challenge for 8 weeks so she could do an endoscopy/colonoscopy. It was the worst two months of my life. I was in terrible pain and I had a psychotic break and I wanted to die. I somehow stuck it out until the end date, after which I immediately went...
  4. Hello, Jill! I can definitely relate to a lot of the issues you're describing. I'm constantly seeing things out of the corner of my eye and whipping around to check if there's anything there. It's very disorienting! I have difficulty remembering things, too- I once forgot my own first name in a conversation and had to flounder for a painfully awkward ...
  5. She said she was going to look for celiac during my initial appointment and was the one who told me to go back to gluten for a bit. We also discussed it very briefly before the endoscopy itself and I saw "celiac" written on the chart before the procedure. But it really is weird and slightly worrying that it's not in the report at all. As for the pain,...
  6. Question One: I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy on the 12th after 8 weeks of re-glutening myself. They said to expect test results back in a week. The day after my procedure I received an email that said: Results of your upper endoscopy biopsies: Normal small bowel, Gastritis. The tissue removed from your small bowel during your procedure is normal...
  7. I'm in the last week of an 8 week gluten challenge, my endoscopy is on Wednesday and it could not come soon enough. I have managed okay, the worst of my symptoms being anxiety and truly horrible brain fog that has steadily gotten worse and worse. But anyway a few days ago I got what I think is a new symptom from the gluten, and being that I am feeling very...
  8. Thank you for the replies! I was trying to be gluten-free, but I wasn't figuring in cross contamination or hidden sources like oats and soy sauce. I don't really know how much gluten I was getting. I have been reacting to it, physically and mentally, so I'm pretty excited to be done with it. I would just hate for it all to have been for nothing...
  9. I have a colonoscopy/endoscopy to test for celiac, Crohn's, etc. scheduled for the 12th of December. I was gluten light for about 1-1.5 years, and I have been back on gluten for about 6 weeks. The procedures are actually scheduled 8 weeks to the day of reintroducing gluten, which means it will be a few days short of 8 weeks total. I have been eating a rather...
  10. Sorry to bring this thread back to life, but I finally got in to see my doctor face to face. I haven't switched to a new doctor, although I am strongly considering it as I don't feel she listens to me very well. I didn't get any vitamin tests, but I did convince her to retest my thyroid levels, and she's redoing the Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody IgA test...
  11. I got a message back from my doctor stating that she would order a blood test for celiac, but that it only included the Transglutaminase because that was "the recommended test nowadays." She turned down my request to check vitamin levels unless I can name specific symptoms that would indicate a deficiency in every vitamin or nutrient I want to check. She...
  12. Thank you all so much for the helpful responses! I am just about to send a request in for the blood work, and then I'm off to dive into researching a more aggressively gluten-free lifestyle. I have one more question. A few days ago, I had ordered the results of my labs from two years ago to see what my levels actually were, and they arrived in the mail late...
  13. Hello! I have a gastroenterology appointment set up, but I can't get in for another month and a half so I guess I'm just impatient and looking for some advice and support while I wait. I'm a twenty year old girl of average weight. I have had one blood test done two years ago that they said was negative, although it wasn't the full celiac panel. I have been...
