  1. I lay down (I can never sleep, but am so tired I want to die! Good ol' molasses feeling), and chill out. I usually need time to myself because it is always depressing for me. I drink lots of herbal tea and when it's meal times, steam everything to mush. I always feel good eating mushy vegetables. I tend to feel sorry for myself the first day, which isn...
  2. Open Original Shared Link There's your answer. Also, maybe you doubly reacted to the casein? I can't consume any casein, either.
  3. The other day I was shopping with my mom at a bookstore that is a huge warehouse. Anyway, midway through, I started feeling really ill; dizzy, brainfog, extreme fatigue... It was so random. Any ideas? Has this ever happened? It is old and dusty and stuff in there, but I don't know how that possibly could have happened.

    ARCHIVED Energy Please.

Hey everyone, Since realizing this summer that I have celiac disease, it's been tough, and my energy levels started hitting all time lows. When I stopped eating as much gluten, I got some energy back, and then when I went gluten-free, more came back. However, I am clearly lacking the energy to fuel my bod. Most of the allowed grains for celiacs I have...
  5. I know Heinz ketchup is cool, and the juice only has tomatoes and salt as the ingredients, but it doesn't list it as gluten-free on the site. But is it? Also, what about rice vinegar? Thanks!
  6. Canadian Karen - Have you had reactions to other items from No Name brand??
  7. It was "no-name" brand (a Canadian brand, owned by President's Choice). I had a horrible experience after using their garlic powder, so I called and knew it was gluten free. Then yesterday I used their cinnamon for the first time, and the same thing happened. Because it was two spices from the same manufacturer, I've decided to drop them!
  8. I have two spices here that I am pretty positive were the culprits of glutening. I called the company and they said that they are gluten free, and manufactured on the same line, even though the line is cleaned. What do you think of this? Was it maybe not the spices? Should I not risk it? Anyone else would avoid them? Thanks!
  9. Lisa - other symptoms have improved - just not the weight issue (but it's only been 4 weeks)? I have had the best runs I have had in about 5 months in the last two weeks. I wake up with energy and don't feel like falling asleep after ten minutes of eating. I would think that those are huge signs of improvement!
  10. I've definitely have lost more since going gluten free. About 10lbs.
  11. I am, yes, but had my blood sugar tested a week and a half ago. Thanks though!
  12. Rachel I'm almost positive! There is really no way I can be glutened, I am being neurotic about everything that touches my mouth, skin, hands, everything. Could it just be my body still adjusting? It's only been about three weeks? Also, did you ever feel excessively thirsty? Like, constant, constant thirst? So much it's almost life-impeding? And...
  13. Hey everyone, Brief background: Self-diagnosed about a month ago. Way, way, way too many symptoms. Exercised and have eaten a great, nutritious diet for over a year (before it was a little shaky). I exercise daily (I run). Over the last year (as I changed my eating habits and such), I lost 30lbs or so. It was great, I felt like dung because I didn...
  14. Were you pretty much just constantly sick? Constantly bloated? Constantly depressed? Did it never REALLY improve? I've kept a food/exercise/et cetera journal for a long time (about five months, I've been gluten-free for about 3 weeks), and when I look over it, I know that I felt some symptoms almost constantly, but days that I ate, say, All-Bran for breakfast...
  15. I forgot to add, however, that some symptoms have significantly gotten better. Nausea after eating and extreme bloating have both gotten a lot better. So has dizzyness.
  16. So I am confused... It's NOT just my body readjusting? I added no new foods, just took the ones I wasn't allowed away. I am still consuming the average calories I did before. I thought my body was just adjusting. Now I am so confused!
  17. Hi Tiffany, Nothing else has changed - I've been really careful. Could my body just be trying to figure itself out? I've pooed regular twice today, plus two more times of pure runny, non-diarreah but very loose stools. (Sorry if that's gross, but hey, it happened.) I assume this whole thing just takes awhile for my body to get used to. Could that be...
  18. These symptoms seem to be worse AFTER being gluten-free for about three and a half weeks. Is this normal? - fatigue - going poop more often (once a day, if that, up to two or three... Always very loose) - sore throat (never, ever got this before) - weakness - stomach pains after eating some things, especially spicy stuff - depression (maybe that isn...
  19. After going gluten free (recommended by doctors and my parents) for undiagnosed celiac disease, I am not feeling too much better. I am SO tired, and my stomach is reacting to gluten - free foods... Not in crazy ways, but it feels irritated, especially by vinegar and garlic and I don't even know what else. It's been about 3 weeks and I feel as though there...
  20. I know someone who was getting really sick from Nature's Path cereals... Turns out they are all manufactured on the same wheat-baring line. That might be the reason for the reaction.
  21. Are you allergic to rice? I am, that is why I am asking. I live right down the street from Sterk's but am going next week to get bread. I am having a tough time being allergic to rice, so I am wondering how you are coping if you are.
  22. I am highly suspicious that I have celiac disease, so after some recommendations from some nice people from this board and personal debating, I have decided to do a gluten free diet and seeing how I feel. My question is, I've been VERY careful and I know I did not consume anything with gluten today (or yesterday, or for about five days). I haven't even...
  23. It's Master Choice. I called them and they said it was gluten free. I was thinking that maybe because it was spicy it bothers me? I never had a problem with spicy food, but some folks in another forum said that at the beginning spicy foods really bothered them. Oh well, thanks anyway!
  24. I have tonnes of food allergies, but combined with a gluten-free diet, I am allergic to rice and buckwheat - two flours I would love to bake with (I used to bake all the time). It's so frustrating because a lot of things are sweetened with rice syrup or use rice or kasha. Any suggestions? Anyone else in this boat?
  25. I called all of the companies - it was a horseradish I was using, as well as French's Bold and Spicy mustard, Frank's Hot Sauce, and even freshly grated ginger! Ack. This is hard.
