  1. This could be your body flushing toxins out ESPECIALLY if you are taking alot of probiotics, and especially if you feel better after the diarrhea. I've experienced this alot myself while taking quality probiotics. Maybe slow down on the probiotics and make sure to keep electrolytes up and stay hydrated.
  2. My colon is irritated by everything except meat and fat. I try to avoid all plant foods as much as I can.
  3. I have been taking iron supplements for over 6 months and I regret it alot. If I could go back and not take them, and just treat the anemia with diet, I would. Those iron pills encourage the growth of pathogenic bacteria who feed iron. Quitting the iron supplements has been very hard on me. Eat some liver. It is not as horrible as you think. Cook it...
  4. I laughed so hard at the first one, that's what my grandma sounded like when she found out I had celiac. The bottom one sounds like me sometimes too.
  5. I'm nearly 3 months out from my gluten free diet. Things have been really rough for me. I'm starting to discover that fruit and starch and other high carb foods are not really good for me, especially if I eat too many of them. I'm still very skinny. I also discovered that I develop new allergies to foods if I eat them too much. An IgE test proved it...
  6. Hey everyone, I just noticed on my Publix Iodized salt one of the ingredients is dextrose. Does anyone know if this is related to gluten? If not where does it come from?
  7. I got the regular Digest kind. I think they are helping, but I think I am specifically having a problem digesting fat now. I'm going to try to get one specifically for fat digestion next time, because I take alot of these with a fatty meal. Also I was fortunate to find all kinds of Enzymedica enzymes at my Whole Foods.
  8. I'd suggest cutting out all dairy and see if that helps. I'm convinced based on past reactions that dairy is one of my high risk foods that needs to be avoided at all costs.
  9. Wow I think I can handle more than that even... I am going to mention it to my doctor next time I see him and I will try the enzymes too.
  10. Hey everyone. I'm celiac and I've been on a gluten-free diet since the middle of December. I think I am having issues with fat absorption. Whenever I eat a high fat meal, about 2 hours later I get nausea that lasts for hours. I have also had some D occasionally from it. I just wonder what is the best thing for me to do at this point? I don't want...
  11. I'm avoiding all of those for the time being, the only additives could be in the bacon I was eating. And yeah my supplements are all allergen free.
  12. It's over with now. I just wish I knew what caused it. I'm going to try taking less iron.
  13. I'm in terrible pain right now. It feels like something is shredding my insides. I have never felt pain this bad when I was on gluten (I have biopsy-confirmed celiac). I've been gluten free and dairy free since 12/12/12. I also take 3 iron pills a day for anemia. Could the supplements be causing this? I've also been taking them for many months and haven...
  14. So it seems like most food in general cannot be guaranteed against cc, unless you go kill it/grow it yourself!
  15. Do you wash them off when you take them out of the plastic? Would you eat hamburger too? It kind of discouraged me from eating hamburger since you can't rinse it all off but I don't want to give it up, or go to alot of trouble finding another store to buy hamburger... This is kind the similar response you get when you email full-service restaurants about...
  16. Dear Ms. X, Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question and allowing us the opportunity to serve you. We always enjoy hearing from our customers, and we appreciate the trust you have placed in us as your grocer of choice. Although Publix Ground Beef and Steaks are gluten free meats, the Publix Meat Department is not gluten free...
  17. Does anyone know where I can get gluten-free, plain salmon? I read about the salmon in the grocery stores having some food coloring added to the meat to make it pink. Does the pink coloring have any dubious ingredients in it? I'd like to get gluten-free salmon from from Publix, Whole Foods, Walmart, or Fresh Market. Does anyone buy salmon from either...
  18. Great, thanks everyone.
  19. http://www.celiac.co...eef#entry828902 Does anyone know why Publix's regular beef - as in not 'Green-Wise' - doesn't make it on their gluten-free list? Also is non-organic grocery store beef safe in general? This list has got me afraid of grocery store beef now.
  20. Yes I have major insomnia and I'm so tired. I'm going to try to find those things at my drugstore if I can (I have probiotics already). Thanks for the ideas.
  21. I know I am way too anxious and thinking crazy. I just have alot of anxiety. My mood improved alot today.
  22. I am still making myself eat, today was a little bit better, even though I'm not always hungry. I was feeling really good for most of today but then bam, night falls and I'm in another one of my anxiety moods. I'm worried about electrolytes and vitamin/mineral deficiencies again. I'm really not too upset about the diet itself but I'm always worried about...
  23. I like applesauce as well. And plain chicken is usually okay though sometimes I don't want to eat meat. Quinoa sounds good, I used to like hot cereal like oatmeal especially Cream of Wheat. >.> But I'm going to avoid all of them for now... Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm feeling really bad, I'm having some anxiety episode right now, I'm...
  24. Yep, the GI doctor ordered a ton of blood work. I didn't ask him what he was looking for in addition to celiac, I was so surprised by the news I didn't ask that many questions.
  25. Thanks for the replies. I did make myself eat real basic foods today, chicken breast I cooked myself, blueberries, things like that. I'm just worried about snapping a bone or not getting enough electrolytes or something related to malabsorption. My stomach and intestines still feel like they're full of play-do ... how long until I get my appetite back...
