ARCHIVED Old El Paso
Lisa replied to francelajoie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dinner tonight: Not kit mix but individual packet (not in a kit) says. Old El Paso Maltodextrin, Chili Pepper, Salt, Onion Powder, MSG, corn starch, garlic powder, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, silicon dioxide, ethoxyquin. - no wheat flour in the seasoning mix (not in boxed). Apparently, they are different. Confusing though. Lisa -
Lister: We are all very glad that you're felling better. Keep on doing what you're doing and with hopes good health will continue.

ARCHIVED Label Reading (help)
Lisa replied to Tlh's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Don't worry.... help is here. I have learned everything about Celiac here on this site. You have come to the right place. First, stay away from natural ingred. until you know brands of foods that will list them. Kraft is good for that. The CSA product list is VERY conservative, they list with the utmost reserve. What you see there is very accurate... -

ARCHIVED Blood Test Done
Lisa replied to Lister's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Lister: Stay Calm, first of all. Stress can agrivate your symptoms no matter what it is. I just wanted to tell you that after a biopsy, I went gluten free, changed doctors and was given a blood work up for IGA, ect three weeks later and my blood work was neg. The endo, indicated major blunting of the villi, which confirms Celiac. Your blood work... -

ARCHIVED How Careful Do I Need To Be?
Lisa replied to marcia24's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have never liked bread before I was dx, so the toaster is not an issue for me. (But, I watched my husband crunch on a piece of wheat toast, and it really did smell good - I just stared at him) Back to the point...My daughter and husband leave bread crumbs all over the kitchen. I wipe it up and go over it with a clorox wipe, or anti-bact wipe. I wash... -

I find that interesting ... after talking to another site member, in person, we discussed just that. Maybe, I am one of the weird ones, but I feel that my body was trying to tell me something..... all this pre... -
ARCHIVED Im gluten-free - Have I Messed Up Test Results?
Lisa replied to sarahm19's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My adivse to you would be to go on a totally gluten diet and request that your doctor do an endoscopy exam of your small intestines. By the time it is scedules, it could take up top three weeks and you can consume your full share of gluten, which may result in a positive result from the exams. If you feel better on the gluten free diet, well, just continue... -

This may sound a little trivial to you, but, I always have a large container of cooked brown rice in the refer. and I add it to every meal that I eat.. To me it works well.
