  1. Maybe you could gain weight with Ensure? It's disgusting, but some people say it's helped them to gain weight. Good luck. Edit: I just went to the website and it has an offer for a free sample of Ensure. Boost Breezes are really good, but I haven't gained any weight with them. My brother always said to eat a lot of potatoes to gain weight, so maybe that...
  2. Yvonne, That's rough that you're allergic to rice. I haven't tried the millet before, but I just wanted to tell you to hang in there. Also, are you tolerant of carob? Sometimes it can be good if mixed with coconut oil. Take care.
  3. Tonsillectomy at 8, appendectomy and gallbladder removal around 27.
  4. The acupuncturist I see told me to drink fennel seed tea to help with digestion. It really does seem to help.
  5. I have a reaction to Sudafed and I'm not sure if this is due to Crohn's or if it has gluten somehow...so I use Claritin Reditabs ( they dissolve in your mouth and don't bother my stomach at all !) and Flonase spray. Irrigating with regular saline spray is also good. If I get super congested I will also take Guafenisin (sp?)
  6. I've always had allergies and was very "hyper" as a kid, according to my family, but I was super shy to the point of social anxiety at school. I had ADD, always ate whatever I wanted and people thought I must be bulemic because I'm so thin. I experienced a lot of mood swings, depressions etc. I also had very chapped lips as a kid and carried around a Bonne...
  7. I saw Jim Carrey on Oprah once saying he has cut out wheat and other stuff, so I wonder if he also has Celiac.
  8. Hello Judi. I want to encourage you to continue with the gluten free eating. It does get easier over time. I have Sjogren's and Crohn's, but if I am very careful about avoiding gluten, I feel so much better in every way (including the arthritis, asthma, respiratory allergies, bone pain, dry eyes, mouth, frequent urination, etc. ). Do you like wine...
  9. I have that pain every time after I eat, but it's from Crohn's Disease. Pain in the lower right can mean Crohn's. Have you been checked for that?
  10. Bananas,Papaya and honey have all soothed my stomach when I've eaten gluten accidentally. I also take probiotics, which help A LOT. If you're able to tolerate dairy then yogurt with live active cultures is also very helpful. Another thing (but it's not over-the-counter) is Symax or Robinal Forte. These drugs really help with pain and cramping.
  11. It took me about three months of being gluten free, dairy free, soy free, etc. before I felt any better, but I was still terribly underweight and exhausted for about a year and a half. Only recently did my doctor do a capsule endoscopy and discover that I also have Crohn's Disease, which is another illness you might want to read up on if you haven't already...
  12. If you dont already know it, PF Chang's has a gluten-free Menu too.
