  1. Bummer that it made you sick. A couple of their things have bothered my stomach. Someone told me a lot of gluten-free bakeries use inulin or something like that and it can bother some of us.
  2. I make the gluten free pantry's banana and lemon poppy seed bread once a week. It's so easy. I replace the egg with Energy Egg Replacer and use rice milk instead of regular milk. It's surprising how good it is. Give it a try if you get a chance, Riceguy. Kinnikinik's raisin bread with a lot of smart balance is also decent, imo. Some here don't like it,...
  3. Bongs are easier on your lungs. Just a suggestion.
  4. Family should come around eventually. My mom took forever to be supportive, but tonight she was over and made spaghetti sauce for us. Hang in there!
  5. I'm still waiting for a good one. They all seem like doorstops to me.
  6. Thanks for the microwave idea. I miss oreos.
  7. I was just missing those things today. I went grocery shopping and got my husband some pop tarts and nutty bars. I felt like dying after he ate one.
  8. I had mine taken out along with my appendix about 7 years ago. Oy, that was a terrible surgery. Worse than a full hysterectomy, imo. Half the women in my family have needed all of these surgeries at a young age. I wonder if it's related too.
  9. The last two radio shows discussed sound interesting. I didn't realize radio had such fun stuff on it. I'll have to check them out.
  10. I don't since I don't drive to work anymore, but I used to sometimes listen to that station. My sister listens a lot. That would be a good one, I bet.
  11. I almost never turn on a radio, so I guess I couldn't give info on that particular show or any radio show, but i hope people get more information on Celiac Disease some way. It is literally a life and death matter for some people.
  12. That's a great idea!
  13. I've recently had problems with chocolate myself and I can't do soy anymore, so I've switched to rice milk. I wonder if carob would be good? I think I'll try some soon.

ARCHIVED Not Happy With My Gi!

I don't know if this is still being done, but HMOs used to give incentives to doctors, so many of them don't order the tests that many of us would like done.
  15. Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!!!
  16. Thanks again. You all are making me hungry!
  17. Thanks for posting the recipe. I was just sitting here stressing about stuffing for tomorrow. Last year's was adapted to my mom's recipe and it didn't taste like hers, that's for sure. Did you combine cornbread with the bread or use straight bread? I just want to clarify because my mom's recipe is half and half.
  18. I eat garnet yams for lunch a lot of days. They're really good just baked in the oven (they're done when almost black-ish on the outside) , cut like a baked potato, filled with smart balance, cinnamon and brown sugar. You could peel after cooking and then add the butter and stuff. They're also good mashed with these ingredients. I never use marshmallows on...
  19. Smart Balance is good if you use a lot of Margerine. Gluten Free and it lowers your cholesterol.
  20. If you can tolerate corn, Gorilla Munch by Envirokids is good. It tastes sort of like Capn Crunch.
  21. Omitting gluten made the biggest difference for me too. In spite of all the crohn's and sjogren's meds, after cheating recently all of my sjogren's and crohn's symptoms are back worse than ever. I had been heading towards a remission. Arg. Gluten stinks.
  22. Thanks for the suggestion...that's a good idea. I need to remember the baked potato option. Take care.
  23. The last three days I was so busy that I cheated. My husband wanted to eat out, so I decided we could. Oh my...it's not worth it ! I'm so disappointed in myself.
  24. People used to think I was anorexic and I never was. I'm still very thin and sometimes hear my grandma say in a stage whisper "she's too thin." It's very annoying. People commenting about a person being too thin is ok, but it's an insult to tell someone they're too fat. Arg.
  25. I used to not have them, but in the past two years my arches fell. Orthotics really help this, btw.
