  1. I've learned to send my son with something I know is safe and try to come close to whatever everyone else is having if I know before hand. gluten-free cupcakes or pizza. It's going to happen though, we live in a world of gluten! I'm just thankful for this site. I don't know anyone else who is gluten-free except my son. At least we have each other though
  2. I've had a lot of stomach issues over the years and it has effected my arms and hands on several occasions. Numbness, tingling, weakness etc. maybe it's part of the withdrawal.
  3. I really don't think any symptom could be marked off the list for celiac because when your body isn't absorbing the vitamins and minerals it needs it can cause all sorts if problem with all sorts of symptoms.
  4. The first week I had great improvements, consistent stools no more diarrhea, less nausea, less pain. The first few weeks were like a roller coaster ride! I went through with drawls, I got very emotional and very sleepy wanted to sleep all of the time. Went through a period of thinking I would lose it if I didn't have some cake or a doughnut or biscuits or...
  5. Yes, throwing up can be a symptom. My son who is new to this found a friend on his baseball team who is gluten-free he got his diagnoses via blood test after his parents couldn't figure out why he was throwing up his morning bagel.
  6. I don't eat meat or eggs. I do eat lots of beans, kale, avocados, nuts and seeds.
  7. , @ Diana : You found gluten it water?! That scares the crap out of me!!! What brand was it?!
  8. I'm allergic to cinnamon, so out of this list that what stands out to me.
  9. I'm glad I read this thread, I've been wanting oats, I used to eat them a lot but haven't tried them since going gluten-free. I'm only two months in and have pretty much given up everything except fruits and veggies, seems like everything else makes me sick! I hate the blindsided feeling, thinking I've been so safe and careful then feel sick and spend days...
  10. I totally agree with this post, words right outta my mouth (fingers )
  11. Yeah I'm sure if I eat (or drink) it then id know for sure but I hate feeling sick and have zero time for it! Think I'm just gonna steer clear of gluten-free bread for awhile. I'm pretty sure it's the yeast though, I had some gluten-free pretzels with peanut butter and felt funky afterwards read the ingredients and there was yeast. Does anyone else have...
  12. So I'm starting to think its yeast.... Who has the scoop on yeast?
  13. I've eaten the hamburger buns with no problem.... It's just so weird to me! At first I thought yeast but then u remember the hamburger buns :-/
  14. Everytime I eat gluten-free bread I get sick as if I've been glutened, does thus happen to anyone else? I've had Betty Crocker gluten-free mixes and gluten-free waffles with no problem. I don't eat any if this often but the gluten-free bread from the frozen section makes me sick, I've had Three different kind all with the same effect, any insight?!
  15. I remember my cousin would always throw her food in the dirt before she would eat it lol
  16. How difficult do you see it being to launch and successfully hold open a gluten-free all organic eatery? I'm going back to school and this is my dream, I'm trying to decide how practical the idea of this is.... Can I pull in enough customers to be successful? Please give me any pros or downfalls you see in making this work....
  17. I kinda grossed out on that part too lol! I think your on the right track there, when I had my first son I was over board with Lysol and bleach everyday! He would get sick more than when I had my second son and I wasn't so on top of it they rarely get sick.... Plus they play outside more and I'm and organic gardener now too and they help a lot, always...
  18. I'm sure some "smokers" would quit if the felt they "needed" to but you couldnt say that they would because we don't personally know everyone. If we aren't judging then we can't just catergorize smokers, drinkers and alike opposed to non-smokers and drinkers, there is no one size fits all here. I do understand why the observation arises that they may not...
  19. I know the pain your talking about and can be intestinal. Have you tried cutting out soy? Something must still be in your diet that you can't tolerate...
  20. Yeah I thought it was very fascinating! I knew we had a lot going on in there and lots of tiny organisms at work but I liked this guys angle and how he related it to farming. Thank you both for reading, I know it was really long but was interesting enough to keep me reading.
  21. The only place I can go out for pizza is Mellow Mushroom. They are very careful, the staff always seem to be fairly educated about Celiac and understand about CC, they use sperate pans. The gluten-free crust is one size and a size they don't offer in gluten pizzas so they don't get mixed up. They also have vegan cheese and fresh local produce, they are very...
  22. I've been wanting to start on probiotics which lead me to poking around in different research leading me to this page: Open Original Shared Link It is a very long read but packed with info about our guts. All very interesting and I just thought I would share, I feel like this is great research! Please give me your thoughts!
  23. Can you have potatoes? That is my filler most nights, and I eat avocados everyday. I carry sunflower seeds around and munch on them to curve my hunger and trail mix with nuts raisins m&ms and seeds. Do you have problems with rice, or corn?
  24. I do agree that Disney overall is great I loved it growing up my children love it now, but that's kinda why this bothers me, I trust Disney and to find a show that I know my child watches making fun of something he has to deal with everyday feels like betrayal. They are supposed to be family oriented and suitable for children. I would love to say I'd rather...
  25. Oh my God my heart is breaking for you and your baby right now! It sounds like you are doing the best you can, you know for sure she can't have gluten that reaction is all you need! When she goes into school this year and you speak with the staff I'm sure they will be understanding, I don't see why they would go against her diet knowing it will make her sick...
