  1. See good does come from surfing the web!!! Thanks for sharing, dumpling where childhood favo for me I do miss them and son ( gluten-free too) loves ravioli!! Definitely gonna try this! I hope they do freeze well!
  2. Thanks! With all the talk of contaminated rice I'd prefer to make my own rice flour and I've always been OCD about what's in my food (even before Celiac). This information is useful, thank you
  3. Oh my goodness thank you!!!! I'm laughing in tears here!!!! I do similar things with my children, poor things their getting the hang of it though!!! Lol
  4. Ooo that sounds yummy! We had spagitti (another kid favo) they finished the whole pot tonight! My oldest is gluten-free as well and this was the first night since he was 4 yrs old that he asked for seconds! Made my heart dance! He's feeling so much better! Proud Momma tonight folks
  5. I still have a knot on my head from smacking myself with my car door! I've done it opening and closing it! Everytime I read a new post I remember one to add! Fun! Genius idea to start this!
  6. I know exactly where your coming from. The pain is probably from damage, still to simple food for a little bit, fruit, veggies, baked potato.... Stay hydrated drink even if your not thirsty. Drink ginger tea with fresh ginger root, lemon and honey, the ginger helps to heal, and helps with upset tummy issues. Rest as much as possible, be super careful not...
  7. Eat a banana a day the week before to, it helps with cramps (potassium). I eat like crazy before I start! No joke, doesn't have to be anything specific just food and lots of it! I have learned if I steer clear of processed foods it helps. I also take evening primrose, it doesn't help right away you have to take it for awhile.
  8. Hahaha lmbo! I love this thread, now I not only have myself to laugh at but you guys too lol!!! This past week I was at a clients house doing windows I had just finished both sides of the sliding glass door turned to put my stuff down ( which apparently was long enough to forget the door was closed) and walked right into it! Face first! My oldest couldnt...
  9. It's gonna be ona dos days.... :-/

  10. Last night I made potato tacos (always a winner with the kids). Was a loooong day yesterday. Didn't get home till around 8p (oldest son had baseball his team won YAY!) So I didn't want to spend hours in the kitchen when I had baths to get through. This meal doesn't have me standing over the stove the whole time either so I can swap laundry around feed the...
  11. Hahaha thanks for sharing I can relate to all of those! Been there hun! Lol
  12. I too get these symptoms and MAJOR fatigue. I have a friend that was having it 10 worse than me and lasting a whole week, I noticed that she always craved dairy during PMS I told her to try to lay off the meat and dairy the week before and during her period (because of hormones in the animals) to see if that helped and it cut her symptoms down 50% I don't...
  13. Trying very hard to find gluten-free friends in my area with no luck so far :-/ encouragement is appreciated...

  14. I want to get my own rice grinder to make rice flour. It is so expensive at the store and come in such small packages! I was hoping I could get some good brands from a few who have experience with these machines. They look pretty expensive to be buying the wrong one. Thanks for any ideas!
  15. My head starts feeling swimmy before I finish the meal and 45mins later I'm in the bathroom with bad stomach pains, it effects pretty bad with head aches and fatigue for a couple days. I haven't been gluten-free for very long so I can't answer how it changes over time sorry but I'm sure you will always have a reaction of some sort and it probably depends...
  16. I do this every spring I have it now and have for the past three or four days, I run a low grade fever and all the symptoms you listed here. The reason for the fever is the same as any cold ( I also run a low grade fever if I'm glutened) it effects your immune system. I think it its probably allergies, check the pollen levels in your area and look at what...
  17. Yes mellow mushroom is my favo restaurant hands down! I love the staff, they never make me feel alien for my diet needs. Asheville is where I have to go to get good safe food and a lot restaurants there have gluten-free menus I am thankful to have somewhere to go even if I have to drive 45mins to get there.
  18. I have to go out of town to find a restaurant I can safely eat at, so I do t eat out much either. I love mellow mushroom though I've never had a problem there, although I was super worried about it, being a pizza place and CC issues. I would like more crock pot recipes and I need more protein myself, I don't have a big problem with soy but when I make my...
  19. I get those symptoms with CC and emotional issues too, I feel lonely and weepy. We could all use good friends through this it is very very stressful and alienating! I can't find any support groups in my area, none if the restaurants in my town are safe and I know no one with this disease, I understand where your coming from... Hang in there and keep coming...
  20. Thanks for sharing I have on occasion given in to eggs in breads and things but don't buy them. When I bake I use EnerG egg replacer, it works amazingly! I am pretty much vegan but if I'm asked about my diet I usually say gluten-free veggie because I will give in if I have too, the dairy side effects are way more tolerable than being glutened! For dinner...
  21. That is strange, but I've heard of rice cakes causing problems for Celiacs, I used to keep them in my car for something to tame to hunger monster in my stomach until I could make it home, but resulted in constipation if I had more than one or two, and they aren't very filling so I'd find myself eating way more than I should. Maybe it's something about the...
  22. It's just rice cakes that does this to you? Any other rice products cause this reaction?
  23. Like Julissa said best bet is to cook in bulk and eat for a few days. It takes a lot of stress out of it. I was Vegan before finding Celiac and give in on dairy sometimes since going gluten-free mainly because of how hard it is to cut out so many things. When I'm starved, haven't got any prepared foods left in the frig I hit the produce section of my grocery...
  24. I was Vegan before finding out I was Celiac, I've given in on some dairy (not much) when need be to make my diet a little easier. I love to scope this forum for dinner ideas (you all have great ideas) but I have to alter most of them to make them work for me (kinda defeats the purpose of grabbing someone else's recipe to make life easier). So Im hoping there...
