  1. I do okay with small amounts of Lundberg brown rice. I usually don't eat more than 1/2 cup at a time and usually don't have it two days in a row. I make a big batch of it and freeze it in 1/2 cup portions then just cook some whenever I want to. The produce thing scared me a bit too...I thought peeling it was good enough, but fortunately I don't seem...
  2. Here's one thread where some people posted that they or someone they know/family tested negative: Open Original Shared Link
  3. I think the overload thing is probably right on the money. I don't think our bodies were meant to handle all the stuff they throw at us, lol. I like the idea of olive oil...my skin is so dry and I can't seem to find a lotion that doesn't make me itch more, so tonight I may slick on some olive oil, lol, and, I LOVE the smell of vanilla so that actually sounds...
  4. Hi to Cheryl (Rachel's mom!)...thanks for posting! Floridian - WOW, great you are feeling better! I also use Bare Escentuals makeup...almost all makeups will make my eyes burn eventually, but I don't notice it with this. I'm fortunate(??, lol) enough to live very close to several of their stores. Julie - thanks for the tip on the mascara.....
  5. I think there used to be one at Berryessa...it's probably still there, but I haven't been over there in years. There's actually two others. The one closest to me is in downtown Campbell...they have that all year round from like 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Sunday, rain or shine. The other one is at the corner of Meridian and Blossom Hill in San Jose...
  6. They have a farmer's market just a couple of blocks away from me every Sunday...I think I need to get my lazy butt down there next week, lol. Thanks Julie for trying to help me, lol. I did have eggs today, but I had to have something in them...today it was the Pancetta I was talking about. This brand doesn't have nitrates and isn't cured. The eggs...
  7. A lot of my reactions (to just about anything) are delayed! That's one of the reasons it so darned hard for me to figure out exactly what I'm reacting to sometimes.
  8. Wow, lots of activity since I went shopping and had a massage, lol. Rachel, I'm so happy you are making those connections left and right! Hi Rachel's mom, thanks for taking such good care of her! I like the idea of the mini fritata things....I may try it, although not sure if that would make me feel ill since it's so close to scrambled. Omelets...
  9. I think I've tried the limiting, but for me, it's almost exactly what I would imagine an alcoholic goes through...and seems like if I have a little it triggers the "need" for more, lol. I have a definite problem with anything sweet even the good stuff like fruit. I did really well for two years while doing my lower carb diet and was able to have the ocassional...
  10. Yep, I tend to agree with this. If you've been gluten free for long, it probably won't show any damage though, but if it will give you peace of mind, do it before you've been gluten-free TOO long. TO show damage the doctor would need to take a biopsy...which isn't painful either. I've had two endoscopes within one week of each other. The absolute worst...
  11. Ha, I brought "chili" for lunch today...no dogs but close enough, lol.
  12. YIKES!! Didn't know that! It's Bigelow I think...I thought I looked at the ingredients, but I guess we're finding out that THAT doesn't necessarily mean it isn't processed with something like that. Thanks...(had some yesterday though, so I guess I'll be finding out soon if that was it, lol). No link I think, but I'm so addicted to the nuts...
  13. Or, As the Poop Turns.
  14. My GERD also got worse after going gluten free, but I also think I have other intolerances I haven't singled out yet. I definitely have GERD--there is damage to my lower esophagus...funny thing is I never felt the reflux so not sure when the damage happened. The only sign I've ever had is an intense burning if I wake up in the middle of the night--the burning...
  15. I need one of those for my whole house, lol!
  16. Cold wash being the key apparently, lol. I once shrunk a dry clean only dress I owned by hand washing, but for some ridiculous reason I thought it would be a good idea to wash it in hot water, lol. I'm not wise in the ways of domesticity.
  17. Ha, good luck. I burn mine half the time, the other half of the time it turns out pretty good. I've never tried it with a ham bone though.
  18. Christine, I'm so sorry, I thought I had read this post but I completely missed this! You've described well how I feel sometimes too...worn down. It DOES wear you down. I have a friend who has fibromyalgia, very bad. On top of that she has migraines and tension headaches and carpel tunnel. She is in pain every day of her life. I know she gets down from...
  19. Okay, okay, I promise NOT to inhale my bananas and avocados...wafting is the key, I will waft. I'm another one who never dry cleans...heck I barely do the laundry anymore...just keep buying new stuff.
  20. I found this: "HIGHLIGHTS: Benzene is a widely used chemical formed from both natural processes and human activities. Breathing benzene can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and unconsciousness; long-term benzene exposure causes effects on the bone marrow and can cause anemia and leukemia. Benzene has been found in at least 1,001 of the 1,662 National Priority...
  21. HA! Isn't it amazing how some people can just eat and do any darned thing to their bodies and they are as healthy as can be, lol! I DO eat a lot of fat, lol.
  22. Thanks Julie! The onion analogy is a good one...there are several things I'm sure that contribute to all of us not feeling as well as we should...I think I'll keep thinking of it in that way...the gluten was one peel, the casein was another...corn/msg might be the next. One day we'll all get to the core if it all, lol. I never knew latex had...
  23. Thanks Rachel! I'm probably a little more down today than I normally would be because I didn't sleep much last night, but I'll snap out of it eventually, lol. I am glad I bought the glucose monitor though. I'm going to check from time to time because there have been several times in the past where I've been working out and feel really dizzy, lightheaded...
  24. Sorry I haven't been posting much girls...I'm getting a bit down. I was so sure that blood sugar was one of my issues, but after testing for two days, it doesn't look like it. My blood sugar seemed pretty well within the ranges except for one reading which was a bit higher than the range...I didn't have a lot of symptoms the last two days, but did have...
  25. I just did a control on the Ultra (ran out of strips for the Freestyle), and it falls within the control range. Danijela - I'm so sorry to have hijacked your thread...I think I should have started a new one!
