  1. On Tuesday I took probiotics for the first time (one 500mg capsule). That night I felt AWFUL, like I had the flu. The next day I felt better, but really tired and felt sick after eating. It's now Friday and I feel okay.. I'm pretty tired (despite sleeping almost 12 hours), have a scratchy throat, shaky (not like the chills, but like my hands are trembling...
  2. Thanks for the advice.. I was wondering if it could be the probiotics as well. Or maybe just a virus. I actually had something similar to this a 4 or 5 years ago. I couldn't eat anything without feeling nauseous and would get really bad chills every now and then. It lasted a good two weeks, and then at least another 1-2 weeks before I was eating normally...
  3. I was advised to take L-glutamine and probiotics to help repair some my gut.. So I bought some L-glutamine as well as a probiotic and super enzyme. All from the brand NOW Foods. I was nervous to take them at first, but I finally did yesterday. I noticed that I felt a little bit sick after I took the L-glutamine (1 500mg capsule) but didn't think too much...
  4. Just wondering what brands of hand sanitizer are gluten free? I've been using Germ-X (the moisturizing one) and haven't noticed any problems, but I just want to make sure.. And what about shampoo? Is head & shoulders gluten free?
  5. I've heard that some nail polishes have gluten in them, but can you really get sick from it? The only instances of hand to mouth contact would be if I've eaten with my hands or when flossing. Unless you bite your nails I would imagine that the chance of getting sick is pretty small. Also, what about getting your nails done at a nail salon? I've never noticed...
  6. I got glutened on November 19th and I'm still not completely better.. For a few days afterwards I felt really sad and anxious, and just not like myself at all. I felt a lot better within a few days, and figured that was that. But I still don't feel like myself. I've been a lot better the past few weeks but will occasionally feel kind of sad for no apparent...
  7. Is the Ragu classic alfredo gluten free? I'm pretty sure I've eaten it since going gluten free and didn't get sick, but I just saw that there's autolyzed yeast extract in it. I'm still fairly new to being gluten free and am still kind of confused as to whether or not yeast extract has gluten in it. What do you think?
  8. I've only been gluten free for about 4 months, and up until now the thought never occurred to me that their products could contain gluten. I use several of their products including the hand soap, body cream, shower gel, hand sanitizer, perfume, etc.. and I've never gotten sick or had any reaction to them. Does it matter if I use them if they don't bother...
  9. Okay, thanks! And I'll definitely talk to my dad about getting tested. And one more question hehe, how long does it take to feel.. normal after you get glutened? I got glutened 3 weeks ago and the physical symptoms are gone, but I've been really anxious and even kind of depressed at times. The first week after I got glutened was pretty awful, I was really...
  10. Thank you so much for the advice everyone! I'm going to try talking to my mom about it and explain everything to her. My dad has also suggested that I go to the doctor to get tested, but I've been putting it off because I'm not sure if I can handle being sick for 1-2 months.. Also, this is kind of unrelated but is there anything I need to worry about...
  11. I'm 17 years old, and over the past 5-6 years I've had a lot of stomach issues.. Not a ton, but definitely more than most people. Sometimes my stomach would get really upset for no reason and it would take me weeks to get back to normal. I never really thought much of it though and never told my parents or anything. I figured it was just a normal upset stomach...
  12. I've been craving doritos for months! I looked at the website and it says that they don't have any gluten ingredients, but are made on the same lines as gluten containing things are made. Though it did say that they wash the lines in between. I'm pretty sensitive to cross contamination though. I'm still fairly new to being gluten free and have gotten glutened...
  13. Last night I made some Halloween cupcakes. I used Hodgson Mill gluten free yellow cake mix and added some halloween sprinkles to the batter. The sprinkles are the Cake Mate Halloween Mix. I didn't even consider the fact that they might have gluten in them until they were already in the batter, so I got the wrapper and double and triple checked each and every...
  14. I looked at the ingredients for all of the flavor and they all contain glucose syrup that may be made from wheat. However, on the website is says that technically they are gluten free with less than 20ppm. It still makes me a bit nervous though.. Has anyone tried these?
  15. I've only just recently started my gluten free diet, and it's been pretty good so far. It's amazing how much better I feel! However.. I live with two people who still eat gluten. It hasn't been too big of a deal, as long as I make sure everything is clean and whatnot. The one thing that I didn't really think about though, is the microwave. I made some frozen...
