  1. i am back. sometimes i think that telling people i was a crack addict , in order to explain my roller life, would make more since to them.
  2. it's funny but it's not. my dreams were always about chocolate cake. it was so good but i knew i was going to be sick so i couldn't really enjoy it. it tured into kind of nightmare and theni would wake up with relief that it was just a dream.
  3. yea. i am so happy to hear stories like this. i have lost alot, but now that i am back onmy feet, itwould take a 20 story building to knock me down. i used to be lost on math, now i do large sums in my head,i am the director of a high end spa in denver co. andi am fast, making up for lost time. by the way the best iron i have found is carried at the cvs drug...
  4. Brooke, I have had to learn that even though I am about as nerotic as your reading about, I am still going to get sick from time to time. Being the control freak that I am, I tried for years to refrain from getting sick. Unless we live in a gluten free bubble, we will probably have set backs. This forum helped me to see that. I am a little more relaxed...
  5. Jerseyangel, I feel exactly the way you do. I am angry for all of the time I have lost being sick. I get angry when I get sick accidently. I am so careful! That junk food is not any better for anyone than it is us. It is just more serious for us. This gives me a great excuse to stay away from it. pokerprincess
  6. Hi mamaw, I live in Denver; I will check it out and let you know. Are you in N.Y.? pokerprincess Hi, I live in Denver. Highlands ranch. I'm the director at the Zuri Salon and Spa in Cherry Creek. come in and say hi. (off tomorrow) you would be the first fellow celiac besides my sister that have ever met! My name is kim. 7. Jen, nothing sounds dumb.We are basically our own research group trying to figure it out on our own! Thank god for this forum. At least I am past the point of considering myself insane. I talked to a woman at the research clinic in Maryland. She said that you can have celiac disease and it will have no effect on you at all: and then someone eles can be as...
  8. This may seem a little off the subject but not completly; My sister and I have decided that drinking potatoe vodka relieves our stomach symptoms when we are sick. Her dr. told her that it was like antiseptic that killed the infection. It takes about one modest of shot (1/4 of a cup) it saves us from being in the bathroom all day. Anyone eles notice this...
  9. I agree withyou Berneses. I have found staying away from almost all starchy foods is a must. The other method I use help with the fatique and leg pains is an herbal supplement called Ginseng Energy Now. I get them at most conveniant stores. I used to take a iron and vitamin c supplement called Vitaron. I got those at the CVS drug stores in Jersey...
  10. Celiac is the direct effect of a hormone, we know the drastic mood swings that we experience, it only makes since that it would have an effect on something even more obviously physical.quote name='once and again' date='Dec 27 2005, 04:02 PM' post='86858'] I read another thread that questioned the connection between mono and celiac disease. I'm also wondering...
  11. that's a great idea! Thanks
  12. Sammie, I have been on the diet for about 3 years consistently. I have noticed a huge change in my menstrual. As long as I continue to stay extremely well it is very light and only last for about 3 days. Last winter while visiting my sister, I kept getting glutened. I had the worst menstual I have ever had and it lasted for about 8 days with extreme cramps...
  13. Beveryly, ironically my intentions were good. One of the ones I bought was called "smooth move" which actually worked but then I would swell up again even after being relieved. You are right. Stick to the basics. Its pretty fresh for me right now. I stopped using the smooth move and bought more with ginger in it that I loved. Not such a good idea....
  14. I DRINK TEA EVERY DAY AND HAVE QUITE A COLLECTION GOING. I ALSO GET NAUSEOUS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH AND ALWAYS WITH BLACK TEA. I RECENTLY BOUGHT ABOUT 5 DIFFERNT FLAVORS OF A TEA CALLED TRADITIONAL MEDICINALS. I WAS GETTING SICK BUT THE PACKAGE WASN'T CLEAR ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS SO I WENT ON THEIR WEBSITE AND TWO OF THERE PRODUCTS HAD GLUTEN IN THEM. IF THEY...
  15. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE BEING WELL ONCE YOU GET THERE AND YOU WILL!! WHAT DOESN'T KILL US JUST MAKES US STRONGER. YES, THIS IS A DAILY BATTLE. YOU CAN'T GET AWAY FROM, FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS BECAUSE THEN IT'S TIME TO EAT AGAIN! I AM STRUGGLING TODAY AND I HATE IT! WHAT A WASTED DAY. BUT I JUST KEEEP THINKING ABOUT BEING WELL AGAIN. IT ACTUALLY TOOK ME 4 YEARS...
  16. After having four, the last one after dx, obviously wasn't a problem. All on time, average weight and at 15,13, 10 and 3 are rarely ever sick. i am a little out of my mind sometimes!
  17. that was funny!!!! Below is what my boyfriend wrote when he read it. Noticeably absent was his reputed "partner" of many years... Speedy Alka-Seltzer !
  18. Did you know that for a guy to have ciliac is very rare. Males don't noramly fet ciliac, it is manly female and that is why there are more girls on this site than boys. Also ciliac is genadic. I got it from my mther who got it from her mother and so on and so forth, we also all have cancer and my granmother died when I was little because ciliac had formed...
  19. Well we have advanced since the days of "Chestnuts on the fire" you can throw them in the microwave for about 3 min. (i think) I need to check on it and make sure. Try a couple and see how long they take. In the mean time I will find out. Enjoy and merry christmas
  20. This was on a link on our forum. It will make you cry and make you thankful. She was one of the most beautiful of children I think I have ever seen. Caylee's Life and Death Caylee was 4 years old when she passed and was completely full of life. She loved any kind of animal, was nice to everyone, gave besitos to all of her family, played with...
  21. I completely agree! this sucks and sometimes I think I could go without limbs easier but realistically, we are lucky. I am so glad I can be well! Unfortunately, unlike a lot of third world or even European countries we put to much emphasis on food. It is the common ground that we all find comfort in. We get to be a little more in depth because we can't hide...
  22. I have family members who have celiac and don't understand! It seems like it would be obvious to them being that I am sick less often than they are because I am adament (responsible) about my diet. I could care less. I only surround myself with supportive and understanding people. This is my life and I will drive it the way I want. p.p
  23. this is weird but cool; I had chestnuts the other night and to me they tasted just like sugar cookies! Yummm!
  24. that is also true for women we need testerone for energy and mood balancing.exercising, football and listening to rock music will do the trick! I know you are laughing but it's true! (beer drinking will not do the trick.)
