  1. Hi Paula I totally understand you not wanting the die-off. I've only got one child and I find it hard enough looking after him and coping with die-off. I've also got some tea tree oil and have used it on my toe-nail. Will have to do so more regularly. How have you used it in your mouth? Have you got special tea tree oil mouth wash? Mine's just a...
  2. Paula, I hope you're feeling a bit better today I could do with some advice about anti-fungals please. I did flucanazole for 3 weeks, which had some impact and now I need something more natural. I've been trying one which was recommended on another board which is a combo of different things, including berberine, GSE and garlic. Only problem is, it...
  3. Nyxie, funny as it may seem, I find the die-off quite reassuring I guess because it shows that the meds are doing their job and I'm on my way to getting better. Susie
  4. Hi everyone I'm dealing with quite a lot of die-off symptoms at the moment. Taking epsom salt baths, lemon water, body brushing, going to get new charcoal tabs (my ones have sugar in them ). My lovely friends are treating me to an aromatherapy neck and back massage to help me feel better. I was just wondering if this would help or make things worse...
  5. Hi Nyxie Don't know about the palanquil, but the nystatin could cause vivid dreams as a result of candida die-off. I've been taking flucanazole, and I get vivd dreams the night I've taken it, along with other die-off symptoms. I think this would be the same with getting rid of any toxins. Plenty of epsom salt baths, lemon water etc happening here ...
  6. Liz, Dr Peatfield's book is the one to buy to explain the connection between the adrenals and thyroid problems. It's easy to read as well, which always helps when fogged up I agree that you need to be careful with treating adrenal insufficiency. I know some people embark on doing this themselves from what they've read on the net, but I would strongly advise...
  7. Amazingly, this is the first time I've come across this thread! I have just been diagnosed with adrenal exhaustion by one of the UK's experts in it, Dr Peatfield. He diagnosed it by saliva test. If anyone in the UK needs contact details etc, please pm me. Georgie, I don't know if you remember, but you referred me to stopthethyroidmadness.com many...
  8. Terbie, it does sound like an allergic reaction if Benadryl helped, but I just want to sound a note of caution for other readers. There are so many things that these symptoms could be a sign of, so get checked out properly. eg I get these symptoms and my new dr thinks it's because I'm not absorbing my thyroid meds properly. I hope you manage to get to...
  9. Hi CCM Interesting about Michael Fowler's experiences. How long did it take him to notice a real difference? Reason I'm asking, is I find it simple enough avoiding all the nightshades, except potatoes. The only symptom that I can definitely link with them is dry skin. I'm so hopeless at eliminating them, that I wonder if I eliminated them for a decent...
  10. I think I'll have to try that juice April One question: are limes OK at the start of the diet? I've only been on the diet 3 weeks.
  11. I seem to have a problem with most nightshades as they all, with the exception of potatoes, make my stomach feel 'raw'. Tomatoes give me a mild oral allergic reaction as well. I've suspected for a while that potatoes might be an issue too, although I haven't been able to track down any particular reaction, except that they are the one food that I feel I really...
  12. It's off topic I know, but we had an earthquake in the night!! We never get them in the UK. It was 5.3, so I guess Rachel wouldn't have noticed it lol but we did! DH thought there was an intruder in the house and I've never seen him jump out of bed so fast and run down the stairs so fast. I was still recovering from the endoscopy sedation, so didn't really...
  13. hi Rachel Thanks for all the scientifness. I hadn't thought about the possibility of my raised antibodies being due to candida, but you could be right. I'm pretty sure it was anti-gliadin and tTg that were raised. Anyway, I'm having an endoscopy tomorrow, so that will confirm the current state of my villi, which should shed more light on things. ...
  14. Hi everyone! Been away for a while posting elsewhere (a UK thyroid board and more recently the candida thread here). Have been reading along a bit here. I'm afraid I'm with Donna on the e-coffees They do sound like a good idea in theory, but.... Kassandra, your piccie is lovely I've been quite poorly recently with various different...
  15. Thanks for the reminder about skin brushing Paula. I have a brush but haven't used it in ages. Am I supposed to brush towards the heart or away from it? I can never remember! Susie
  16. I satrted the same time as you However, I haven't been as strict as I could be, as I'm poorly with a throat infection so haven't been able to get out to go shopping. My dr prescribed flucanazole - 1 a week for 4 weeks. Thereafter a rotation of natural anti-fungals. I think the flucanazole is quite strong. Die-off combined with an infection is not nice...
  17. Nyxie, I don't know if it's reaction or die-off, but I've had that today as well. I was wondering about it being the probiotics too, so will be interested to read any responses. Good luck with the diet Susie
  18. Hi Gail I've only just started getting back on track with my diet, although even now it's nowhere near as strict as it could be, coz I've been quite poorly for the past week with a throat infection, so haven't been able to shop for the right stuff. I'm having more carbs than you suggest. It's difficult being coeliac and on the diet as that limits...
  19. Thanks Paula It's really great to have your encouragement, because I've never been able to stick at an anti-candida diet before. The die-off symptom I get is really bad depression (I suffer from depression anyway). I think now I've had an actual test that shows scientifically it's an issue for me, I should be able to stick at it. Another benefit to me...
  20. Thanks Scotty and Paula Is l-glutamine OK for coeliacs? I'm very very sensitive to gluten, so if it's connected to gluten at all, I'd rather not go there. Fish and cauliflower Doesn't take much cauliflower for me to be clearing the room lol!! I think you're right about eating smaller amounts more frequently. That's what's recommended for...
  21. Hello everyone My test results from my new dr came back - my adrenals are almost totally exhausted and my candida antibodies were off the scale So I guess I'm going to be hanging around this thread lol! My dr is having me start on flucanazole for 4 weeks, then go onto natural antifungals. I have a couple of questions: should I start taking...
  22. Thanks for your replies - they confirmed what I was thinking Ursa, I agree with what you said about it taking some people a long time to receover, but I shouldn't still have elevated antibodies should I? that does mean I must still be getting gluten some how, doesn't it? I know I must have problems with other foods. Dairy should be fairly easy...
  23. I had a bit of a shock yesterday. I went for my yearly check up with the gastroenterologist, and he told me he wanted to do further tests to see if my coeliacs is refractory I was diagnosed Jan 06, following ttg blood tests that were way off the scale and endoscopy showing total villous atrophy. I was 33 at the time and believe the condition was active...
  24. Rachel & Julie & Jin I agree about the histamine issue - in fact it's something that I've been thinking about the last few days, having had an oral reaction to lemon juice Something is bothering me in our house and giving me a bad sneezing reaction in the night, so that had happened. I forget what else, but I figured that my system had had...
  25. As well as having an ode to charcoal, maybe we should have a requiem to cobra! Julie - how long have you been taking the charcoal? I've just started it to, but not noticed much difference. What symptoms are you finding it's helping with? Carla - great to hear you're well enough to be taking on work I'm off to the GP's in a few minutes....
