  1. Hi Julie The pre-menstral depression and anxiety was loads better this month, and I think that's largely to do with starting to clean up my diet, in particular, excluding the main dairy offender (won't take you much to guess what that one is lol ). How have you managed to sort out your hormones? S x
  2. Donna, there's no way on earth you'd get me doing an e-coffee....unless it was for, say,
  3. Donna, you really should try a neti pot. I still have my sinus problem, but the neti pot has been the only thing to give me relief. April, your piccie is adorable Kass, epstein barr is a nasty critter lol. Dr P feels that it was the start of my problems (which I agree totally with). He is of the opinion that it holes up in the adrenals and can...
  4. That's such good news Kassandra S x
  5. Nyxie, yes he is THE Dr P! Donna, funny how we sometimes discover things by forgetting them! I hope it works out OK without the melatonin. Try not to think about it too much - that would be enough to stop me sleeping! S x
  6. Mia, good to see you That pelvic exam sounds nasty. Hope the endoscopy/ colonoscopy goes well. As for toilet trips, I often go 2 or 3 times in the morning, and that's me done for the day usually. I think I've still got problems there that need sorting. Donna, how did the practice go? Everyone - just had my telephone consult. It's the first time...
  7. Sorry I'm not going to be able to reply to everyone - just too tired with this lingering sinusitus to spend much time here But I did want to say - Rachel, really great to hear about your progress Kassandra - so sorry to hear about your brother, but I hope he's in the right place now to get the treament and help he needs. S x
  8. Nyxie, I know the system for referrals works differently here in the UK, but my referral for a bone density scan was to a radiologist. The dr who actually interpreted the scan was a gynae dr though - but that's just because he's acquired a specialism in it as the majority of his patients who are scanned are menopausal. Donna - can't beleive your age...
  9. Jin - hi! glad your feeling a little better. Yes I do know exactly how it feels to worry that it won't last - I'm in that place right now I feel loads better emotionally, but am a little concerned about what the next couple of weeks will bring with good old hormone fluctuations and all. Sorry to hear about your problems with your dr - unfortunately, this...
  10. A quick drive by Thanks so much Jin for your pm. You're such a sweet heart Hope you're starting to feel a bit better. I will try to reply in a bit more detail tomorrow. On the lymph nodes - mine have always behaved badly lol since I had glandular fever (mono). I think what I eat sometimes stresses them, but the worse thing for my lymph nodes seems...
  11. April, this is kind of off the candida topic, but seeing as you mentioned it on this thread...do you use the charcoal to help get rid of the metals that you've moved with the rest of your programme? When do you take the charcoal in relation to everything else? Thanks!
  12. Now that is my sort of idea, I like it loads All this waking up in the night had to be useful for something lol, guess I'll be off to buy some charcoal. Paula, could the yellow feet be some sort of circulation thing? Do you usually take hot baths? I think I've had this before, just from taking a hot bath when my feet are cold <shrugs> Nyxie...
  13. Paula, I'm not in Colarado, but if you ever visit England I'd love to see you Jin, where are you? Hope you survived Christmas and New Year OK Everyone, I've got another sore throat. This will be my 4th cold in a row and I've still got the sinus infection. What's the matter with me? Susie x PS going back to work tomorrow so won't have...
  14. Hi Rachel, Just before you posted, I was re-reading your links on interpreting the hair analysis and realised I'd mixed up your results and what the info said were the 3 main minerals that would be skewed. I need to read things more slowly so that my brain can process them properly....lol S x
  15. From my experience this Christmas, it seems like their purpose is to teach small children the art of telling truely terrible jokes!
  16. The New Year is 9 hours old here Wishing everyone a great 2008 and praying for such leaps and bounds in our progress towards full health that we can celebrate the next New Year in style! Rachel, interesting your calcium, magnesium and zinc were skewed as mine were too. I thought that was down to shampoo, but maybe not. Can't wait to get a proper...
  17. Donna, 'just' isn't a word I'd use for the candida diet lol! Good luck Paula, our water company just phoned back. They said our lead levels were 4.5 parts per billion. The current 'safe' limit is 25 per billion and in 2013 it will go down to 10 parts per billion, so I guess our water's OK for lead. They didn't test for anything else. S x
  18. Had to go to the drs this afternoon because my sinuses have been getting worse. He prescribed antibiotics I'm not very happy about taking them, but DH thinks it's a good idea because they're so painful. What a great way to start 2008! Anyway, I shall be making New Years resolutions about my diet etc Anyone else going to make a special new year effort? I...
  19. Hi Paula I think the answer has to be yes. I'm very skeptical about public utilities and levels that we are told are acceptable. Why would they tell you that there were problems with the water in the first place if they weren't worried about it? We had our water checked for it's lead levels. The water companies are obliged by law in the UK to do those checks...
  20. Nyxie, from what I've read here, quite a few people have had problems with probiotics. I've not taken them for ages, so can't really comment. Paula and others about the hair testing - as well as dye, you have to be careful with the shampoos you use. Although the lab will clean your hair sample, to be accurate, you really need to be using baby shampoo...
  21. OK, I just found that really helpful artcile you posted Rachel - sorry, feeling a bit silly I didn't read that first Guess I need to get the whole mercury issue looked into....this could cause the depression, right? Gonna phone that dr again tomorrow... S x
  22. Rachel, sorry if I missed the answer to this somewhere in your hair info, but why does elevated calcium indicate a problem with mercury? (or is it heavy metals in general?) My hair test showed very high calcium, OK mercury, but I do have a lead problem. I wasn't given any advice about the calcium and was very surprised to see such high levels, as I don't...
  23. Just a quick drive by as we've been travelling to foreign parts and back today....been to Wales to see my parents Had a lovely day and laughed a lot, which has been great. I've updated my avatar with a piccie of my little chap which I took today Got to rest now but will try to reply to everyone's really helpful posts in the next couple of days. Sx
  24. Thanks Rachel Reading those articles proved to be a real OMG I might be onto something moment I am protein s deficient (although not majorly so) which is one of the thrombophilias mentioned. The plan is to take lose dose aspirin whilst trying to conceive then have injections of a heparin style drug once pregnant. This is all very well, but I've never...
  25. Blood or hair can be tested, but they do not give a particularly accurate picture of what's going on. The best indicator is apparently white marks on the finger nails which haven't been caused by knocks. I have lots! A great link on zinc is: Open Original Shared Link S x
