  1. i've researched a little about the genes i have you can find out if they are assosciated with other illnesses/autoimmune diseases. but i don't think knowing the details of every gene is going to help diagnose you any futher than just knowing you have the gene becuse either way it just means you have an increased chance. if you're iga deficient did you have...
  2. hey, i had a bad reaction with very similar symptoms pre celiac, report your side effects to your doctor or the cdc. im not against vaccines at all but i would be very caucious getting it again especially if your not elderly/ high risk and its not completely nesscessary, i find washing your hands regularly and not touching your face goes a long way
  3. are your new negative results with or without a gluten challenge? i think its irresponsible for your doctors to dismiss positive bloodwork. i agree that positive blood results points towards at least potential celiac disease and there is a good chance that there either wasn't enough damage yet or they missed it. pretty sure high Gliadin IgG means you...

    ARCHIVED DH questions

maybe check exactly which blood tests you had done as well if the dermatologist doesn't know much about celiac its possible they didn't run enough

i think chips would vary from place to place depending on the ingredients where you go
  6. what would be the benefit to doing this if she has already tested positive to bloodwork which points towards celiac disease /potential celiac disease? also wouldn't having a postive celiac bloodtest suggest that she is most likely not IgA deficient since being Deficient in IgA antibodies would also result in false negative blood results?

that's completely understandable i wouldn't want to eat something i know is making me sick either maybe get your iron, b12 and vitamin D levels checked if you haven't already. you could also get the HLA genetic test done as you don't need to be eating gluten for that. having a gene won't diagnose you but if you do not have any of the genes you can almost...
  8. this is my favourite vegan cheese recipe from one of chloe coscarelli's books 1 and 1/2 cups of raw cashews 1 cup water 2 tables spoons of lemon ice 1 and 1/2 teaspoons sea salt garlic glove or garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 2 tablespoons of cornstarch soak cashews overnight or boil for 10 minutes. in a blender combine cashews...
  9. i feel sick after eating chicken but im pretty sure that's because i tried to eating it after 7 years of being vegetarian not because of celiac disease. i mean if you know its making you feel sick then don't eat it
  10. i don't see the point of posting this. you don't know their life and making snap judgements when someone is asking for help is only going to make them feel worse. honestly eating gluten free is the easiest part. what sucks is the horrendous symptoms and associated diseases that have made me being unable to work, study, drive, exercise, travel and socialise...

celiac panel means the blood tests to check for signs of celiac disease. how long have you been gluten free? i would get tested as soon as possible if you think you may have celiac disease. but it could also be something completely different just because you feel sick eating foods with gluten doesn't nesscessarily mean you have celiac disease.
  12. yes i understand. i chose not to have an endoscopy as my blood result were extremely high, positive gene test and i have no Gastro symptoms. i personally don't think there is anything wrong with going gluten free first and then checking if blood tests nomalize as the pros of an edoscopy don't outweigh the cons for me but thats just me, everyone is different...
  13. this is a really odd test for a doctor to start with. i would recommend reading up on food intolerance testing, the test you had is similar to the pinnertest that is promoted all over instagram at the moment. the accuracy and science behind it is questionable at best. it if you think you have a problem with gluten please get an actual celiac blood...
  14. i would ask for an EMA blood test at the same time that might provide some more information what are her symptoms?
  15. hey, i'm vegetarian and gluten free as well have you tried making any recipes with cashew nuts like cashew cheese or pasta sauce? they're really good, easy to make and an excellent way to get more protein/iron i can send you some of the easy recipes if you like
  16. when you say food intolerance test do you mean a food allergy test? food allergy testing is a skin scratch test or IgE / RAST allergy blood test where as food intolerance testing isn't very accurate, its popular with natropaths and alternative medicine but most doctors consider it to be questionable at best i mean you could try doing the blood...
  17. i can definetely relate to some of your symptoms and frustrations with doctors, ever since i tested positive for celiac disease, when i ask for referrals or tests for my other symptoms which are getting worse they just blame it all on celiac disease. almost like they found one thing wrong with me and feel like their work is done. i would suggest cutting...
  18. thank you! they refused to give me an EMA test said it would just show the same thing but i did manage to argue my way into getting a HLA test reference i think i will still try to get an EMA test asap since i've only been gluten free for 2 weeks i'm hoping my levels will still be up since it was so high
  19. Thank you so much for the reply and the list! im not at all sure iron deficiency is my only symptom i was already taking iron supplements as i was vegetarian for 4 years so originally it was just blamed on that. i don't have any stomach symptoms but i do have severe joint pain (elbows and knees) , post-nasal drip/excessive mucus in throat which is being...
  20. hi my name is emma, just wondering has anyone else opted out of the EGD/biopsy? i have multiple reason why i have decided not to (hypoglycemia, heart problems, anxiety) my only celiac symptom is malabsorption of iron which is improving so to me it seems extreme and the benefits don't out way the risks my doctors and GI are making me feel...
